Kelly's Baptism Photo Shoot

Photobucket
Saturday, May 21st, Sarah met up with Kelly and me at the Bountiful temple for her Baptism photoshoot.  I absolutely LOVE doing those pictures.  We've done that with both girls now and it's just so much fun to see their reaction to the whole situation.  Kelly had spent an hour or so before the shoot practicing her poses.  She took it very seriously and didn't want to waste any time.  She did some pretty cute poses on her own and Sarah and I tried to get creative with the locations and poses.  Overall Sarah did an AMAZING job!!  I LOVED how they turned out!  I will post pictures of her big day as soon as I get them off the camera.... these things take time you know.

And of course a little plug for my Sister-in-law, Sarah and my brother Brent..... they are the best photographers!!

I was happy with myself and my ability to figure out Elements to make the invitations.  There are a few things I will do differently next time.  Like the placement near the edge.... we had some bad luck with the printing because I was in such a hurry and oblivious to the little warning.  But I think they turned out pretty good... if I do say so myself.  I love making their baptisms a big deal.

Last day of School!!!!

Photobucket
The last day of school was such a nice day!  My Mom babysat so that I could attend Brad's class thing (I have NO idea what that was called.... just NOT a "graduation" apparently).  They said a little poem for us... Mrs. Savage spoke about how much she loved the kids.... they made a cute little fishy picture..... they got otter pops, and were dismissed!  It was short and sweet, and I loved thinking about Brad's year.  He's done so well.  I can't believe how well he did!  I'm not sure why I was so worried now.  He wrote a cute story that she gave us all bound and everything..... that stuff is so fun to me!  He got to play on the playground for a while as we waited for school to get out to get teh girls.

Here he is with a few of his friends.... he really became quite the social little guy toward the end of the year.  I was impressed.

Then the bell rang and the kids started coming out.  Charity and her friend Olivia were some of the first to come out, and they were both SOBBING!  All the moms around me, friends that know she's my daughter, saw her and then looked at me..... It was so hard to know what to do or say.  I remember those days of being sad to leave your friends.  I tried to tell her that we would be able to play with them all summer if we wanted.  She was so cute, and so sad.  She had a hard time smiling in pictures.  Hopefully we can make the summer a fun one for her, so she doesn't have to be too sad for too long.

She made Mrs. Rice cry.

Kelly was the opposite.  She ran around looking for her friends to get pictures with them.  All happy and cheerful.  I think that the difference between Kelly and Charity is that Charity thinks really farin advance.  Kelly's a now kind of girl.  It's cute either way though.
Photobucket
She just has to get a picture with Canon!  I sure hope she can ease up on the boy craziness before too long.... or we're in for a wild ride as she hits 16!!!  I do think Canon is a cute, sweet little boy.  I'm glad she is friends with him.

School is FINALLY OVER!!!!  YAY!!!!!

We were invited to the little icecream party up at Rocket Park and while we were there we saw this beautiful rainbow up in the sky!  I've NEVER seen anything like this when there was no rain!!!  Very cool!  Photobucket

Kelly's Dance Party

Photobucket
She talked me into a ballerina cake!  I was just going to do a ballet shoes cake, but we found this one and Kelly loved the idea of cotton candy on a cake..... and so we did it!

Photobucket
Kelly pretty much planned her whole party and really wanted very little involvement from me..... it was kind of nice.  She came up with some pretty fun ideas!  Her first game was a version of musical chairs, but she used her ballet and tap clothes.  Everyone had to grab a piece of dance gear or they were out.  Sariah and Annabelle were the finalists.
Photobucket
Sariah won!

Then she had pin the tutu on the ballerina.  I loved how my ballerina turned out.... I don't know why, but I do :).... Erika helped with the hands....

Then we did a few stalling games while Nate got the pinata hooked up.  It was a ballet shoe.  It sure was a pain in the patootie to begin with.... but it worked.  Everyone got a turn to bat..... everyone except.....  Charity.  We let her go last because she was sure she would break it, but it turned out, Brad had the killer swing!  Fastest pinata EVER!

Photobucket
Kelly put on quite the show during the cake and candles.... she's so adorable!

This is what was left of our beautiful ballerina!

They all stopped to play kick ball for a little while....

Kelly picked out her button at the party store, all on her own and wore it to school and everything :)  So cute!
She got spoiled pretty good from her friends.

Kelly had Nate make a treasure hunt for the end.  It was VERY elaborate!  Although I didn't really see anyone following what the clues said to do except to find the next one :)  It seemed like a lot of fun!  Nate's really good at those.  They found their goodie bags at the end.

After the treasure hunt, we realized that we still had almost an hour to kill!!  Kinda funny what a poor judge of time I am.  They improvised by having dancing contests which had been one of Kelly's ideas when we first started planning her party.  Everyone seemed to be having fun..... sometimes I think unstructured time is the most fun.  Hopefully it was.  Everyone went home and then the family started showing up for the Family Party.

Kelly got her scriptures! and a whole bunch of other wonderful presents!!  She says that the scriptures were her favorite part and I was very glad because I had kind of wanted to get her more, but ran out of time.  She's such a sweetie.... of course she liked them.

Our second cake ended up being a S'mores cake after a little creativity.  The chocolate cake needed frosting and all I had on hand was the marshmellow creme that's been sitting in the cupboard for at least a year (probably more), then we happened to have some grahm crackers and so we crumbled those on top.  I thought it was pretty clever!  Anyway- it was nice to have Sarah, Alvin, Charlie, Grandpa Hatch, Steve, Grandma and Simon there for some birthday wishes.  What a fun day she had!!!
