The "New Park in Bountiful" Park

NEW PARK IN BOUNTIFUL
Should have looked for the name of this park while we were there.  I've only heard it called the "New Park in Bountiful".  But we finally went on Saturday evening.  It was a lot of fun!  And there were even tons of people there!  We played for a good two hours!  Grandma Hatch showed up towards the end and  had fun with us too.  It was a really good time.  Kelly and I had fun people watching.  Or should we say Helicopter Parent watching.  There were lots of them there.  Then Luke and I had fun watching kids going down the slides.  Some of the slides were slicker than others.  They finished off at the little water feature- Molly was in heaven there.  Also, the spinning thing.  I'm so glad they've brought those fun toys back!!  We'll be going there again!  5-26-18

Lacrosse Banquet

Kelly's Lacrosse banquet was right in between (well and overlapping) Erika and Noah's games.  So it was just Kelly and I that went.  Nate was juggling everything else for me.  I was so glad I got to go though!  Such a cool night!  I love that she gets to be a part of all that!  They had a dinner which was nice, I got to sit with Lichelle and complain about all the flaws of the Decathlon.  Then they did awards which was a lot of fun.  I loved Kelly's award- she got the "Catch my stick" award!  Because she's always throwing her stick to people and saying that.  Kinda cute.  She has a trademark :).  Then they did some other, more serious awards.  This was when Kelly got her "JV Offensive MVP" award!!!  How cool is THAT!!!  I really couldn't be prouder of this or more in agreement!  She TOTALLY deserved this one!  I was so glad she finally got credit for being to every practice and on time and for being so teachable.  She really was the only one who had done that all season.  She even got bumped up to Varsity at the end there.  SO anyway.  This was my favorite part of the evening.  Then they showed a fun video, they gave the Seniors their blankets, and basically gushed all over the seniors.  It's going to be tough losing so many.  Then they did lots of selfies and hugs :).  I am so proud of Kelly and how she has made this her thing.  She really has just embraced it and excelled!  Can't wait for Fall Season!  5-24-18

Erika Softball

Erika's softball season is coming to an end.  Kind of bittersweet.  It's been a great season though!  She's done great!  I think we've seen a lot of improvement with her team too.  She really should have been in an older league- if that had been an option.  She was too good and got a little bored at times, as well as frustrated.  But she seemed to enjoy going each time and was happy when she won :).  I finally remembered my camera to get some shots.  These are always cool through the fence I think.  

I think she only struck out/didn't get a hit a few times- she usually made it to first base!!  Depending on when she was up- she usually scored too!

Check out that stride!  She is like the picture perfect runner!  If you ask me :).  

Didn't get any outfield action shots... bummer.  Maybe I need to bring my camera to her last game :). 

Noah at the Davis Decathlon

NOAH'S DECATHLON
So Noah had a field trip the day of Decathlon which ended up being a little bit of work figuring out the logistics since I had also signed up to go on Erika's field trip.  I was going to have to leave the field trip early to get down to SL (This is the Place Heritage Park) to get him and back to Bountiful High, but luckily, Nate offered to pick him up.  Then Nate ended up making a day of it and took Molly and Jack to the Zoo that morning!  Such a fun dad! He picked up Noah and Jacob Downs, I met up with them at Bountiful High after finishing Erika's field trip.  This year's Decathlon ended up going much faster than in years past- it was kind of nice.  It was easy to follow Noah through the whole thing and know where he was through it all.  We sat by Mrs. Downs so it was easy to get into it and feel the competition.  I think we all agree that the crowning moment of that whole thing (which happened pretty early on and I think pumped Noah up for the rest of it and why he did so well!) was his cup-stacking!  His VERY FIRST TRY he pulled out a 5.202 which happened to be his all-time record!  I remembered him telling me the night before that his record was like 5.5 or something (close, but not 5.2!!!), so this was pretty thrilling!!  I got so excited for him!  The cup-stacking is one of the heaviest weighted events.  So it was pretty awesome!  He did great on everything and the team did as well, pulling off a 5th place win out of 12 schools, not bad!  I was so proud of him and how well he overcame his nerves and how much fun he was having being happy for his team and cheering them on!  It was so cool!!  5-24-18
