GLORY AND POWER OF GOD
I loved the Relief Society message this month. It totally went along with my feelings about my awesome uterus and my temple covenants. I won't go into too much detail about that because the last time I told someone, I felt like I'd cast pearls before swine, so I'll keep it to myself now, but it RE-confirmed the thoughts I'd had. I love it when Heavenly Father does that for me! He loves me so much. 9-21-15
FHE
Noah had the lesson and he decided to teach a lesson about the Priesthood. About an hour before FHE he came to Nate and asked him where in the scriptures does it talk about the Priesthood. He showed him Alma 13 (which I happened to know actually! How amazing is that!). So for Noah's lesson, he had us read a few verses from that chapter and talk about what they were saying. It was very cool that he was so on top of things on his own and that he felt so confident doing it on his own! I was so proud of him. My favorite part was his cute testimony at the end. It's incredible how powerful a testimony can be when it's coming from a sweet little seven year old! I loved it. Nate got a pumpkin roll for dessert :). Everyone loved it. 9-21-15
UGH
I just about died doing produce this week! Who knew. I'm thinking it was too soon. No permanent damage though, thank goodness. And Molly and Jack did pretty well too. Here's to a whole month before I need to do it again. 9-22-15
RECOVERY
So, I think it must have been produce that set me back this week. I don't even know what happened the rest of the week. I have been a little down. The baby blues probably. It's been extra overwhelming to think about Molly being our last baby. I need to get more used to the idea. We did make a little trip down to the park with Emily, Kate and Will, and we were blessed to have Stacy Empey bring dinner over Wednesday night. We all got to watch Bradley play his football game since it didn't start until after the YM/YW Superactivity wrap up (which was a LOT of fun! seeing all the old pictures. It's weird to see myself 8 months pregnant now... feels like it was forever ago, but just yesterday at the same time. I tried to remember how much pain I was in, to make myself feel better that I'm not there anymore... why doesn't that ever work?! I still ache to have another baby for some reason.). Bradley was fun to watch, he plays really well! I can't wait to go to more of his games! Nate's parents came up on Thursday just to hang out :). We went to Subway with them for lunch and then came back home so Ruth could hold Molly. She'd been in her carseat for well over 3 hours so she was starving and never really got happy for Grandma Ruthie... Kind of a bummer. I think she's just too much of a princess to cater to anyone else's whims.
WOMEN'S CONFERENCE
I went back and forth between us going and us staying home this time. When I realized that staying home so that the nice, clean house doesn't get messy for the blessing the next day was a lame reason to miss, I decided we better go. I was really glad to have Charity and Kelly so motivated to go as well. I may not have come to that conclusion without them. It was such a great meeting though. I'm so glad we went. I'm so glad Molly just laid there in my arms and was perfectly content through it all. The Spirit was so strong and there were so many things said that I needed to hear. There's something about hearing it live too- I'm just so glad we didn't wait to watch it on tv later. I loved all the talk about Joy and how we get to choose to be happy. Our "eternal happiness" has already started and we can be blessed with it now, we don't need to wait. I loved thinking about who I could serve and how I can teach my kids to serve. I really want to do more in that area. There was another reminder during the conference of how keeping my temple covenants has brought blessings that I wouldn't otherwise have. I love that something good has come of that. 9-26--15

Things to Remember Week of 9-13-15
CHURCH
Molly and I had the perfect excuses to go to church this Sunday! Charity was giving a talk in Sacrament Meeting and Noah was giving one in Primary. We didn't want to miss either of them! Molly did pretty good, just needed to be held the whole time, but really- not too much to complain about. Charity did a FANTASTIC job on her talk! I love that she was so excited to give a talk and that she wrote it all by herself. She really did a great job. She spoke about how we can chart our course using the Personal Progress Program. Charity and Kelly both have developed such strong testimonies of Personal Progress over the last couple of months with all the work they've been doing. It's really cool to witness as a mom. I love hearing about what they are accomplishing on their own. I'm so proud of them. Noah spoke about how when we keep the commandments we show Jesus that we love Him. He talked about a time he didn't want to go to church, but prayed about whether he should go or not, and decided he should go. He did a great job. I was proud of him. I was so glad we had some excuses to be there. I hate missing church. I got to go to YW too. We combined with the Mia Maids. It was a nice break too, since Molly wanted to go to Elder's Quorum instead. What a nice day!
We got a surprise visit from Steve and Jauslin the afternoon too, which was a fun little break in our day. It was pretty uneventful otherwise which was good since Nate was back at work. 9-13-15
2 WEEKS
Had my 2 week check up, Monday. As usual, everything looked good. I feel so blessed to heal so well all the time. I was thinking about it the other day and immediately felt like this was a result of my keeping my temple covenants. Specifically the covenants associated with my garments. Made me happy to think that I was being blessed for being faithful. 9-14-15
FHE
Erika was the lesson and did a rerun of her favorite lesson where we passed around the bean bag to say things we love about each other. It really is a good activity for our family. I love hearing the things everyone says about each other. She took a few minutes at the end to tell us that if we always do these things that we love about each other, we will have a "better life". Loved that. She's getting so grown up! We had popsicles for the treat and since our evening had gotten away from us while waiting for the frozen enchiladas to bake, we had to cut our four corners game short. Everyone was bummed. 9-14-15
2 WEEKS FOR MOLLY
Molly went in for her 2 week check up Tuesday. We were reminded just how perfectly healthy this little girl is! She only lost about 4 oz in the hospital and was back up to 7lbs 12oz at the doc! Pretty good growth! Everyone loved her skinny feet. And Dr. Tew was surprised at how well she liked laying on her tummy! She really is just so perfect. I love the miracle of that. Especially with how worried I was. Silly me. Her foot bled forever from the poke though! Only downside. 9-15-15
LIT CLUB
Bradley and Luke signed up for Mr. Flynn's Literary Club. They/ve been going to theyre meetings on Thursday mornings at 7:50am. I really didnt think this would last, but theyve been having a pretty good time with it. The coolest part was listening to Bradley teaching Luke how to write a poem :). Way cute. 9-16-15
TGIF
I loved Friday this week. I totally thought I was going to hate it because Nate accepted some overtime during the day. And when I'm planning on having my honey home, but have to let him go to work instead, it's not pretty ;). I'm kidding. It was for a good cause, I tried to be flexible. Lucky for me, though, Heidi was planning on coming to paint Erika's bed! I decided to turn the day into a hang out, by meeting Heidi for lunch first. That was fun. We met up at Costa Vida. Came home and I sat and watched Heidi do all the work on Erika's bed!! It was great! Good chatting time, nice and relaxing, really, it was the best. She didn't get it done, so I have another day of hanging out to look forward to :). I hope it's soon.
After the bed, we got ready to go to the State Fair! Nate had a meeting with his family so we were planning on meeting him at the fair. Instead, he dropped his car off at his work and we picked him up there. We had a great time! The kids always love the FFA thing for kids, to learn how farms work. Jack was skeptical, but as soon as he saw the free (or should I say "$1.00") fruit snacks, he was happy :). I'm glad they're still so easily pleased. The big kids kind of escorted Jack around. He looked like royalty. I will have to get my pictures from my phone from the whole night. We headed over to the Fine Arts building to catch a glimpse at Kelly and Noah's work displayed there. The coolest thing happened, as we were walking up to Kelly's we could hear a little girl getting all excited announcing all the different princesses, and of course, she was standing there, in front of Kelly's picture, with her Dad, totally admiring it! It was so fun!! We all walked up quietly and tried not to interrupt, just enjoying the fan-dom. What a fun thing for Kelly :). Noah's was harder to find, but we found it- he did a great job, and it was really just fun to see them all get so into it. I think we'll have even more participants next year. We loved seeing Annie's! She always wins and her drawings always look like photographs. I don't know how she does it! Val Kilmer this year. Looked amazing. We were able to meet up with Heidi and John for a few minutes after eating our corn dogs and curly fries. It was so funny that we'd both planned on going that night. We were bummed that their friends hadn't cancelled, we had to share them with their friends. But we enjoyed the few minutes we got with them. Or in the words of Kelly, "So they were with us for like five minutes?" Thinking they'd come just to hang with us :). Bradley tried to beat the sit-ups record at the Air Force booth, came close, getting 51 in one minute (holy moly!) just 10 shy of beating it. Then he attempted a pull-up :). I wonder how many boys his age/size can do pull-ups? Then everyone tried to out plank each other. Fun stuff. Everyone checked out the Creative Arts building while I sat outside and fed Molly. Kelly loves seeing the doll houses. After that, it was onto the animals! I am so glad we didn't skip them this year, Jack was in heaven!! Even when it was just goat after goat, he kept pointing out all the goats, getting all excited about each one, it was adorable. I loved his enthusiasm :). He REALLY loved all the baby animals. He got to pet a little chick, a little goat, and baby calf as well. It was so fun. He didn't want to leave. I really need to take that kid to the zoo. He'd love it. I think Luke and Noah got into the baby animals as well. They disappeared most of the time we were in there. We tried so hard to find me a new diaper bag (that one I got a few years ago was so perfect), but no such luck. I don't want anything too big. Molly stayed pretty content in the sling hanging from me the entire time. Too bad I hadn't read all the warnings on the sling- apparently she's too young/small for it... oops. She did well though. I will say, I was nervous about her and adjusted her position a lot. So I guess we'll put it away for a while, get it out when she meets the age and weight requirements. Nate had to carry Jack on his shoulders a lot of the evening, thanks to my forgetting the stroller. That was a bummer. But overall, I think we did good! Everyone seemed happy and we got lots of cheers when we asked if they had any fun in the car :). It was about 9:30 when I decided to put the kabosh on the evening. I was EXHAUSTED!!! And in need of nourishment that wasn't deep fried. I felt bad cutting it kind of short, but it was time to go. We let the kids have a movie night once we got home, but I don't think ANYONE lasted through the whole movie. I liked how Nate described it- looked like a bomb had gone off in our family room, when we got up to go to bed in the middle of the night. Everyone sprawled out every which way all over the floor and couch. Kind of funny. Molly kept me up most of the night nursing so I got to hear each person as they came up to bed. Funny stuff. Good times! 9-18-15
FAMILY HISTORY
Charity and Kelly were asked to help with indexing at our Stake Family History Open House. Nate decided to take everyone and they al ended up staying for about three hours!! I guess there wasn't a whole lot of indexing, but even the littlest ones had fun with the journaling. Molly and I stayed home (for Molly's sake, I would have LOVED to go learn how to get names for the temple!) caught up on some z's. 9-19-15
THE PARK
We needed to get out Saturday night, so we grabbed some pizza and headed off to the park! Everyone had so much fun! I was so glad. It was easy fun. They were all getting along so well, I was so happy. I loved that they were so welcoming to other kids with their game of freeze tag. I loved watching Erika take a new girl over to her "big brother" to ask for permission for her to play along. Cute stuff. It was a nice evening. 9-19-15

Rub-a-dub-dub Molly's in the tub
Sunday, the 13th was Molly's first bath! We were all so excited that her belly button fell off on Friday. This is always a nice milestone. After hanging out at the lake all day Saturday, she needed to freshen up for church! Into the tub she went! I wish I had a better tub for her, I thought for sure this little pink one would work for now, but she is actually too big for it. Time to go shopping! She loved her bath for the most part. Didn't seem to phased by it. Cried a little, but overall...
Dad was there, and her big, look-alike sister was the photographer :).
Jet Skiing with Grandpa Hatch
We FINALLY scheduled a jet skiing trip with Grandpa! Thanks to Nate's FMLA, he was able to take work off (yes, it was totally a medical necessity). Grandpa really wanted to go to Bear Lake. We had planned on going up Friday night, staying in Grandma Ruthie and Grandpa Russ's Trendwest overnight, but there weren't any condos available. BUMMER! It was probably for the best though, that would have been WAY more work. We ended up going up Saturday, caravanning with Grandpa and Steve. We were pulling the jet skis because our car is better ;). It was a really fun day! I LOVED the beach there. There was so much room to play in the water without the risk of drowning! Jack was in heaven the whole time, with all the sand and water. He even went out with Nate on the jet skis. Erika kept herself busy with everything as well. She built herself a sand castle and spent a lot of time playing with Jack. She would stop to check on her little sister every couple of minutes too. She FINALLY got out on the jet skis with Grandpa toward the end of the day. Noah loved the kayaks. He looked like a pro out there on the water. He would ride on the back of the kayak with Luke paddling too- that looked funny. Luke liked the kayaks too, but made some serious progress when he requested a ride with Nate on the jet skis! I was so glad! He NEVER wants to go on them. And he had a good time too! When we got to the beach, Luke announced that his favorite part about jet skiing was all the treats :). We do have way too many snacks and treats between us and Grandpa. But it does make it fun. Bradley was out in the water all day. I hardly saw him. He spent a lot of time on the jet skis, lots of time on the kayaks, and even went off on his own to try fishing. He looked all grown up paddling away on the kayak with his pole hanging out the side. No luck though. Kelly seemed to have a lot of fun despite the dry sand. She did different things. But she loves going fast on the jet skis and spent a good hour just goofing off with Charity out in the water. It was a lot of fun to watch them playing together. Charity will tell you that she got a turn driving the jet ski! She seemed pretty busy most of the day too. Molly had her first outing! She spent the entire day in Mommy's arms. It was a nice change of scenery from being pent up at home, so we loved it! She ate a lot and slept a lot, and very little complaining about the crazy temps. It felt like we couldn't stay warm or cool and out of the sun at the same time... kind of a funny time of year to be there. It was a nice day though. I LOVED it! Unfortunately the sunblock I put on everyone didn't seem to do much. Most of the kids were burnt somewhere. Kind of a bummer. Nate was fried! I think I'm the only one that didn't have any pink parts. We started cleaning up around 6:30, didn't get out of there til 8:00 though, and pulled into the driveway at 10:00. Kind of late for us! But what a great day! Wish summer could last longer. 9-12-15

I think this was the first time Jack braved holding Molly. He was so cute with her! Since then, he's asked several times to hold her and loved it. I'm so glad he's not scared of her anymore :)
