Kelly was getting a cool shot of the setting sun with her phone

Saturday
Kelly's Lacrosse game was SO MUCH FUN!! This game was supposed to be one of those "we're playing for experience, not to win" games where we have to convince ourselves that being beat isn't all bad. They were playing against Park City who they all hate and who we'd just seen CRUSH another team in the previous game, so we were pretty geared up to lose. But boy were we wrong!! Our Davis girls totally held their own today!!! They played SO GOOD! Especially Kelly! She had so many awesome steals and blocks! And one REALLY amazing pass!! It was so much fun to watch!! We ALMOST tied, our team scored a really awesome goal a second (probably not even a whole second) after the end of the game whistle, so it didn't count, but it was totally a tie in my book. And with a score like 3-4, you KNOW we played hard!! I was so proud of our team! They took all the checks and high stick checks even though the refs almost NEVER called it on the Park City girls. They took several charges and Kelly even got kicked in the shin, but just kept playing! It was seriously so much fun!! I just can't even say that enough :). Our team is a new, barely scrapped together team who have only played with each other three times and Park City has been a pretty good team for years! SO how cool is that! Oh it was just so awesome! BEST. GAME. YET! 4-29-17
I fought the urge to warm these pictures up because I want them to be true to how it felt- we were FREEEEEEZING!!
Look at that amazing defender!!! GREAT D!!!!
Those Park City girls are VIOLENT! Not aggressive, but violent. So irritating.
Kelly played the ENTIRE game. No breaks. (minus the time spent standing there because our team kept stealing the ball and cruising down field! SO AWESOME!)
There she is with her "st'KAI" (that's how her coach says "Stick high" which took me a while to figure out- it's great advice and has been a great strategy this year that she never played before. It makes me laugh that it sounds like some secret word)
Erika kindly spent most of the game entertaining Molly on the playground. That was a major help. Since I'm obsessed with these games, I can't be a mom and cheer at the same time.
This was during one of the lame time outs the other team stalled with at the end of the game. Not counting their goalie gear problem- which drives me nuts because if they hadn't ran out the clock on that- our score at the end would have counted and who knows- we may have gotten another one!! That kind of stuff just makes me crazy.
CASTLE PARK
We had some really nice weather back in Kaysville today. Of course after you've sat in 40 degree temps for an hour long Lacrosse game- "nice weather" isn't too hard to get :). The kids played outside a lot and then after dinner and house clean up we all went up to the Castle Park. I was so happy with how happy everyone was with this idea! Most of them ran around the ENTIRE time playing tag. Kelly and I took lots of pictures of the sun setting and Molly :). I got lots of pictures of Jack and Kelly too. It was a lot of fun. I am happy with our decision to start finding other ways to have fun together besides just sitting around or eating. I need to post some of my pictures. I took about 500. 4-29-17
I realize this isn't the best picture of Charity (even though you really can't get a bad picture of Charity), but check out the lighting and the awesome blurriness of the background! Oh I just love it!
Molly kept herself well entertained the entire time. Pretty fun stuff.
And look at this one! The lighting there was PERFECT!
He always puts his hands in we're positions when he poses for pictures :). I started telling him to put his hands down after a while, but had to keep a couple of them :).
Noah thought of this one :).
Brad's tough guy face
And his sweet guy face :).
This was pretty cute- Molly made a new friend. He was much more touchy feel-y than Molly
His mom kept telling him to give her hugs and kisses- she wasn't all that thrilled about it :).
"he just touched my boogers!"
this is my new favorite picture of Erika :).
Brad's hiding from everyone to take a little breather... didn't last long
capturing the awesome sunlight and a beautiful little angel
another favorite :).
He guzzled the entire bottle! No sharing I guess.
