"You are not here to live a mediocre to average life; you are here to live an amazing life, a miraculous life. If it weren't for your challenges, there would be no miracles. You must do that which seems impossible, for it is only in the impossible that miracles are had." - author unknown, but very respected

Kelly's Friend Party
Kelly spends a lot of time and energy planning and carrying out her parties. They are so well thought out- it's really cute. This year she hand made her own invitations using some invitations that we had bought. Hers were much cooler, believe me! Too bad I didn't get a picture. She invited about 7 people (including Charity and Erika) to come. Unfortunately, she found out ahead of time that one of her friends couldn't come and one would have to come late. That was a bummer, but she was okay with it. The day of the party arrived, we had balloons up, the polka dot cake was finished and beautiful, our kits to make the glass tile necklaces had FINALLY been delivered and were all sorted ready for use. Cassidy showed up about 45 minutes early because she thought it started at 5:00 instead of 5:30 :). And then Sarah Jane came as well. We started everyone on their necklaces while we waited for the rest of the guests. Well, much to our surprise, nobody else was coming! Kind of a bummer, but Kelly seemed fine with it. The six of us went to IHOP for dinner. That was a lot of fun, but filled with interesting little problems. First, our waitress, who I'm pretty sure was her first day or something, spilled the tray of drinks, right on the birthday girl! She was so polite about it, hardly said a word. I laughed when Charity burst out with, "Happy Birthday, Kelly!" It was a little too strange that Kelly's the one who got the brunt of it. She was a little sticky for the rest of the time there. Bummer for Kelz, but she didn't let it get her down :). Then for some reason it took forever to make our food. I watched several people who got there after us, get their food, and be done before we did. But it was okay- the girls were just enjoying each other's company. Kelly and I had the most delicious crepes EVER!! So good. They brought Kelly some ice cream, but were too busy to sing to her, so Charity, Erika and I did :) the friends were too embarrassed :). That was something that I think fed her whole idea to go out to dinner- being sung to in public- not sure why my kids love that stuff, but if that's why she wanted to even be there in the first place- we couldn't let it go undone :). She was happy. We came home, did the photo booth which turned out to be really cute and fun- I want to figure out a way to print them to look like strips of photo booth photos. Then it was time for cake and ice cream, presents and the movie! I thought the movie was fitting because we had had quite a few glitches ourselves, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, was a nice reminder that it could have been worse :). Both of Kelly's friends mentioned how fun it was that it was such a small group and I agree, small groups are better anyway. Hopefully it's a memorable birthday for Kelly. She was happy and had a great time and thanked me profusely (which is funny considering she did most of it). She's such a good girl. 5-29-15
Fourth Grade Rendezvous
RENDEZVOUS
Nate, Erika, Jack and I all helped out with the 4th grade Rendezvous today! That was a lot of fun! Mostly because of who we got to work with. We were in charge of making "Indian Fry Bread" (aka:scones). I was feeling like it was going really well until some woman came and announced that her son's was "underdone". Kind of annoying. I was a slightly deflated after that, but I did see a few that weren't, so hopefully it wasn't all of them. Kind of a bummer though. Oh well. It was a lot of fun to watch Bradley run around and do his thing. He wasn't around us at all! But I guess that's how it goes- he must be getting older!! I had a great time though. I asked Erika to take the camera and grab some pictures during the last 10 minutes or so. These are her masterpieces. We have Bradley and his bag of stuff he bought with pellets from the "Pantry". Then a picture of the inside of the bag :). Wow, I don't think he had half of this stuff when he got home. Emily and I wanted a picture of Bradley and Rachel, so that was one of the mandatory ones :). It was a fun afternoon- glad we got to participate! 5-28-15
