We saw three moose on our Rhino ride that first night! SO COOL!! Totally took me back to AK. They are such incredible animals!
The Maughan's invited us up to their cabin in Heber for UEA weekend. We had such a great time!! Everyone's favorite parts were:
Charity: Rhino rides and seeing the moose. And the big slide and the huge teeter totter.
Kelly:
Bradley: Rhino rides and all the birds and chipmunks and squirrels and stuff like that. And the hike.
Luke: I liked going on the hike and seeing Jack pick up the poop.
Noah: Rhino rides and catching the chipmunk.
Erika: Going on the slide with Kate and going on the hike and watching the movie with Kate.
Jack: Blue one. And the big slide.
Molly: Sleeping a lot during the day.
Dad:
Mom: Relaxing. Not having to cook every meal. Being away from life. The fresh air. Hanging out with the Maughans.
We stopped at the Maughan's traditional lunch stop at Dairy Keen in Heber then headed on up to the cabin. Rhino rides were a highlight that evening, we got to see three moose! The next day we went down to the neighbor's to play on their slide, teeter totter and swing. That was a lot of fun. Everyone walked away with a few battle wounds which is always fun :). We all enjoyed the hike that day as well. I think it's awesome that some of my kids actually like to hike. Makes me happy. I think I did pretty good considering, but I sure wish I was in better shape and didn't have so many pains to deal with still. Hopefully as time goes I will be able to strengthen the areas that hurt and feel dislocated and they will stop :). Rhino rides, Harry Potter II, and yummy popcorn that evening. We all got a kick out of the boys' traps to catch a squirrel or chipmunk. Saturday was our pack up and go day. We hurried and ate, played games, road the Rhino one last time (not much wild life to see though) and then headed home. It was a lot of fun. It's been a while since we got away. I loved the Cafe Rio on the way home :). 10-17-15
Here's the big slide! SO COOL!
\And the giant teeter totter was pretty fun too.
Don't ask me what's up with all these pictures. I'm pretty sure the camera was still on the night setting from the night before. Lame.
These two were so much fun to watch. I love that Erika has Kate.
As usual it took a while to get Jack excited about most of this, but once he felt comfortable...
While we were out there playing in the quiet outdoors, I realized just how loud our family really is. Definitely some Hatch blood there...
Trying to level out the teeter totter.. pretty good, Nate!
Cute Kate! I wish I knew he had the camera during this part...
The big train down the slide
Luke had to go back to the cabin and change into his basketball shorts so he could experience the amazing speed that you get with very little friction.
And whoever had the camera reallllllly loved the scenery! There were about a million shots of the trees :). Had to post a couple.
