Journaling from the Kids 1-15-17

ERIKA:
On friday I went to my grandpa's house.  We played a game that was like scrabble and when a team wins they get a prise.  We had dinner what we had for dinner was meat balls.  We played It cam to pass.  It was the Best then we went home.  Charity and my dad went to a baskitball game.  Me and my brother watched a movie in his room.  We got a new game on his tablet.  We talked all night  We stayed up intill 1..00 Am then we went to bed.

KELLY:
1.15.17  Journaling
Date with Noah:
So for birthday's this year mom has decided that we should give the gift of time.  So on Saturday me and Noah went to lunch.  I was a little unsure about how it would turn out and I wasn't really sure if Noah would like it but it was a really big success!  So we went to Arby's first to get fries, while we were there we played the question game.  The we skipped (litterally) over to McDonald's where I got an apple pie and Noah got an sausage mcmuffin.  The games we played there were "what are the odds" and this one game where we found letters around, everywhere, that spelled out our names.  And last we walked over to Wendy's for Frosty's.  The people there were really nice and gave us Mediums for the price of smalls because we "waited so long" (it was really only like 5 minutes).  Then we walked home while eating our Frosty's  My phone died so we ended up walking to like the church cuz we couldn't call mom.  But I had a really good time talking with him and spending some actual quality time with my lil bro :)  I"m really glad I got to go!
Grandma RUthie and Grandpa Russ' House:
Grandpa is back in teh hospital now but it makes me feel really blessed that we got to spend the afternoon with them.  I've been trying to make the most of the time and spend with them :)  I had an amazing time at the little family meeting.  It was just our family and grandma and grandpa.  We each got to share a talent of some sort.  I played the ukulele and sang.  Grandma played this BEAUTIFUL son on the piano and then Grandpa recited this AWESOME poem!  I really enjoyed just talking with them and getting to know them better.  Then we played two games, ate cupcakes, and just talked for the rest of the night.  I've got to really cherish the memories and times I have with grandma and grandpa.  I love them so much! :)

CHARITY:
1/15/17
This last Friday, my dad and I went to a Jazz game!  It was so much fun!  I love spending time with my dad.  We drove after hanging out w/Grandma Ruthie and Grandpa Russ.  My dad and I talked and goofed off the whole way there.  When we got there, we got some basketballs that they were handing out and the entrances.  We got a red raspberry shake and went and found our seats.  They were really good sets too!  The game was really good!  We won by 33 pts and had an amazing half-court buzzer beater!  I loved watching Rodney Hood DRAIN his 7/8 3-pointers!!  The people behind me thought my amazing cheering, dance moves and comments were entertaining.  I kept accidentally elbow-ing th eguy next to me when I would get up and dance.  It was a really good game and I had a good time w/ my dad :) (the game was against the pistons)

Also on Friday, we went and visited Grandma and Grandpa :)  It was such a fun time!  We made it kind of a famikly meeting "replacement" since there wasn't one on Sunday.  We had a lesson on developing and growing our talents and making goals that help us improve our talents.  Then we went around and said talents that we and others have.  We then played BOM scrabble.  We had spaghetti, meatballs and garlic bread for dinner and then played "it came to pass".  Before the lesson, we all shared our musical talents.  I had a great time and I loved seeing grandpa out of the hospital.  Unfortunately, we just found out htat he is back in the hospital.  I hope that wasn't the last time we'd see him at home.  Sorry to end on such a sad note :)  I did have a good week though.

NOAH:
My birthday present from Kelly...
was super fun we went to arby's for fries mcdonalds for any kind of food we wanted then we went to Wendy's for ice cream at arby's we asked each other questions and at mcdonalds we tried to find our name out of words then we did chalenges at Wendy's.

LUKE:
Date: Today
Luke
On friday at school they called down the people with more than 100 lessons [TTM].  When I went down they gave us breakfast and it was a good thing that I didn't eat breakfast.  Technically it was a desert cause they had doughnuts.  While we were eating they started naming people and giving them a treat.  for 300 or above they gave those small candy canes full of treats for over 500 they gave you a big candy cane full of chocolate kisses.  the big one was like twice the size of the small one.
the end
Just kidding!  When I got back to the classroom I was comparing my big candy cane to my friends small candy cane.  He said "Ha! You got kisses" Then a while he asked "Can I have one"?  I said "Your Mom can give you one!"
The end
I'm not kidding this time.

BRADLEY:
Last week we had TTM awards it was really fun.  They gave awards for getting to 100,300,500, and 1,000.  I got a certificate, candy can filled with candy, and 2 bracelets.  I'm not trying to brag at all but I got the biggest applause.

Last week we had a swedish night w/ the Jacksons.  I had a blast.  We played swedish games and my team won every time.  We also had swedish treats I had fun

Last week we visited grandma and grandpa's house.  It was really fun.  We ate a very delicious dinner and played really fun games  I like Book of Mormon scrabble and it came to pass.  It was so nice to see grandpa out of the hospital.  We got to show some of our talents, and I figured out how to play I am like a star.

ME:
I think I'm going to start journaling FOR Jack and Molly until they can do it themselves :).

JACK:
Jack has been really busy drawing pictures for people and cutting out paper :).  He loves making things for me and Nate now that he knows how to he writes "mom" and "dad" on everything :) and sets them on our new nightstands.  He's been really sweet with Molly lately- figured out how to carry her a month ago and now he's figured out that she doesn't love it anymore :).  He sure thinks she's special though.  He's been really laid back and easy going lately.  He only has a few little meltdowns a week now.  It's been nice.  He loves his new Primary teachers the Kagies.  He talks about them like they are his best friends :).  He especially loves having Bro. Kagie make him paper airplanes :).

MOLLY:
Molly has been a sweetheart lately.  She worked out some of her post Christmas frustration I think.  It might have just been a little too chaotic for her.  She doesn't love loud noises and chaos.  She's learning to deal with it in small doses.  She is not loving 11:00 church.  We are all learning to deal with that :).  She will start nursery in a couple months though and I think she will love that.  She is walking all the time now, rarely resorts to crawling.  I'm worried about how bow-legged she is, but hopefully she works that out of her system.  Still not much talking, but she's SO SMART!!  We all think it's crazy how much this little girl understands.  She loves giving kisses, cuddling, her soft blankie, DADDY!! and actually mommy sometimes now ;).  She's such a good sleeper still!  I don't know how we got so lucky!

Things to Remember Week of 1-8-17

WORRYING
I just about worried myself sick on Sunday, during choir because I had concocted the idea that there was a gas leak in our house... long story... but I was grateful that I felt calm enough about it to reason myself out of panicking and going home to check.  I knew deep down everything was okay, it was just hard to convince my mind of that.  1-8-17

BUSY MONDAY
I did it!!!  I went running again!  It's been three weeks since our last run because of laziness, weather and scheduling and because I've been so sick with this dumb cold.  I really had a lot of excuses, can you tell :).  But we pumped ourselves to start back up and WE DID IT!!  35ish minutes, almost three miles.  Not too bad.  I sprinted up Via La Cost toward the end, coming to Shadowbrook and seriously felt like I was going to puke!  But I survived.  The coolest thing about this run was that Heavenly Father gave us warm weather!!!  It's been 10's and lower for the past week and the one day that we decided to go running it was 47 degrees!!!  I was shocked when I looked at my phone (trying to find an excuse to not go-- shame on me), but once I saw the temp, I just couldn't help but think that was a gift from my Heavenly Father!  I felt so loved :).  And motivated.  It was awesome.  And so awesome that there wasn't tons of ice and I didn't die :).  I worked so hard the rest of the day.  I had to or I would have fallen asleep, I was so tired.  I ordered my produce.  Lots of laundry, I cleaned out the dryer vent thing, cleaned the kitchen, living room, dishes, my bedroom, my bathroom, got all my little errands run, twice since I forgot the right card at the grocery store.  I just got lots of stuff done.  It was good too because we were having a Swedish night with the Jacksons.  Thankfully the kids all helped get things really cleaned up before they came.  I love productive days. 1-9-17

SWEDISH NIGHT
Michelle Jackson and I planned a "Swedish Night" so that we could have an excuse to get together :).  Nate and Brock both served missions there so it was perfect.  We had them over for some Semlor and Ficka, they brought a fun little matching game with Swedish words.  We mostly visited and played the Swedish game and Telestrations.  It was a lot of fun!  We need to get together with them more often.  1-9-17

TEMPLE TUESDAY
I'm starting to really appreciate the habit we've made of going to the Temple every 2nd Tuesday.  I know this was meant to be for the YW of the Shadowbrook ward, and then supposedly for Savannah when the ward split, but right now it is for me.  I'm so grateful for the opportunity to go and be in that atmosphere.  I wish I could get in the water and do the baptisms myself or even go upstairs to do something, but for now, I am happy with what I can get.  And I'm so glad we are starting some good habits with my girls and sometimes Bradley.  I think this is priceless.  1-10-17

TEN VIRGINS
This was our Relief Society night.  When I heard about the activity and that it was a sit and listen kind of activity, I wasn't thrilled, but I know that these things can be beneficial, so I decided I needed to go.   I was bummed that Emily couldn't go with me and then when I go there, was reminded that Lisa was "in it", and I was really feeling like leaving.  I sat down by Alyson Mark because she had some questions about Charity babysitting for her, and I was planning on getting up and leaving after it started, but then Rhonda Shinn came and sat by me, probably because I was sitting all by myself- she's sweet.  So then I didn't really feel like I could just get up and leave.  It was TORTURE sitting there for the first 10-15 minutes (felt longer), they were dramatizing things- acting out women's stories in Church history.  I hate that stuff for some reason.  If it's a whole play- I'm good to go, but the imaginary door-knocking and wind and rain sounds coming from someone's phone... it was difficult- I was clearly not in the right mood for it.  Or open to the Spirit- yet.  Then Lisa did her part- she was "Hannah" from the Bible who of course is barren... do I need to explain my frustration with this choice of actress and story??  I don't think so.  It was really fine, the whole thing, I really was just not in the mood for it all.  I was really struggling with the fact that it's always the same people who do these things... bla bla bla... then Alyson leaned back and asked me if I would say the closing prayer at the end.  I said, "Sure." Then went on complaining in my head about how I am not an asset in the ward and I will never be asked to do anything for RS, and then Heavenly Father clonked me on the head and said, "Alyson was just inspired to ask YOU! to say the prayer!!!"  Duh.  Yep, I'm that slow.  It brought me to tears a little bit to realize that Heavenly Father loved me that much.  To jump in and rescue my situation even though I'd been being selfish and prideful, and fighting the Spirit.  It was a special little moment for myself.  Really changed my mood.  Then something else happened when I was trying to hear what President Monson was saying in the video- I have no idea what he was saying, but I felt the Spirit so strongly.  It was awesome.  I wish I could have been feeling the Spirit the whole time.  It was nice to talk with a few ladies afterwards even though Lisa hi-jacked a couple conversations- not sure why she's doing that again.  We had a nice year or two in there where she didn't feel the need to do that... not sure what's up with her these days.  Got to hear about Janice Johnson's son and that he MIGHT be getting married in a couple weeks before going on a study abroad :).  SO cool.  I wish I was that spontaneous again :).  I'm grateful for RS and the blessings I can receive from participating.  1-10-17

MUTUAL
Nate, Charity, Kelly and Bradley got to go up to Bro. Pedersen's work and make candy!  Sounded like lots of fun!  I'm glad they got to go.  I wish it wasn't in a drug factory.  1-11-17

ORPHAN KEEPER
We FINALLY had book club for my most recent favorite book.  I LOVED this book!!  We went to LeAnn's whom I also love :), she fed us delicious Indian food, and we talked Orphan Keeper all night.  It was really cool because this lady who is new to the group from Hidden Valley ward actually adopted a boy from Ukraine and had similar experiences to the book.  I loved hearing it all and talking about Taj.  I still wish I knew more about which details were true and which were fabricated, I will have to look into it more, but overall- LOVED IT!  1-12-17

LITERARY CIRCLES
I got to read with Erika again today.  This has been a fun thing for us.  It was especially nice this time that I didn't have to be wrestling Jack and Molly during it.  I always feel bad that Kate and Morgan get to be together when I'm there, and Erika is usually in a different group from them, but I think I make up for it :).  Maybe :).  1-13-17

TTM
TTM has been pretty big again this year!  Bradley has just been flying through it!!  He's at 1880 passoffs already!  Luke has taken a back seat because it's suddenly cool to do TTM now and he's not into what's in.  He still has over 500 though :).  Which is pretty amazing.  Noah also has done more than 300!  On Friday they awarded kids who had reached 100, 300, 500 and 1,000 passoffs already.  I loved seeing the pictures on Instagram and think it's cool that they are making a big deal about it this year.  If we don't make it into the championship again this year, I will be shocked!  1-13-17

CHARITY AND NATE AT JAZZ VS PISTONS
Charity got a Jazz game for Christmas from Santa this year!  So she took Nate and they got to watch one of the funnest games of the season!  Totally intense in the middle while we were several points behind after a 10 point lead during the first three minutes.  But they pulled ahead and were almost 30 points ahead by the end of the game!  Charity was a lively fan, creating a lot of drama around her :).  Apparently there were lots of high 5's going around when the game was over though, and several people who had really wanted her to get on the Jumbo-tron.  They even pointed to her when the guys came around with the foam balls and then the guy that was given one actually gave it to Charity :).  Pretty cool!  They came home with at least four of the mini basketballs as well, that they finagled out of the entrance people :).  So it sounded like a pretty eventful and fun game!  I'm glad she enjoyed it so much!  And Nate of course too :).  We just need to get him to be more lively while he's there :).  The kids and I at home were anxious to catch a glimpse of Nate and Charity on the tv so we watched the entire game- went til about 11:30!!  Too bad they don't ususally get shots of the upper bowl.  Fun game though- I think I even enjoyed it :). 1-13-17

LAZY DAY
I have been feeling like crap all day today, so it's been a really lazy day.  Not a lot getting done.  I did play a lot of cards and did a few loads of dishes, prepared a few meals and changed some diapers, but for the most part- just trying to kill time til I feel better!!  This is torture.  1-14-17

KELLY AND NOAH
This year for birthday gifts, rather than getting a bunch of stuff at All-A-Dollar, we decided we were going to give the gift of time to each other for birthdays.  Between the siblings.  So for Noah's birthday Kelly took him Fast Food hopping :).  I dropped them off at Arby's and they walked to McD's and Wendy's.  I can't wait to hear about it from them.  Hopefully everyone else does their dates as well.  1-14-17

Things to Remember Week of 1-1-17

SHARING TIME
I LOVED my Sharing Time this week!  It went smoothly and the kids had fun.  It was a relief to have it go well.  Kinda funny that we're back to the same yearly theme that I did last time I was in the Primary Presidency.  Too bad I can't do the same months I did back then :).  Although, I don't think it's really going to ring a bell.  It's been five years.  And I was pregnant.  1-1-17

MOM'S WITH THE HATCHES
We had dinner at Grandma Hatch's house with the Hatches and Steve (which I guess technically he is a Hatch :)).  Everyone had a good time. 1-1-17

LAST DAY OF WINTER BREAK
We (everyone except Bradley and Noah who got to go Ice Fishing!) went up to Grandpa Hatch's house.  Ate all his food, played with all his toys, had lots of fun... then left :).  Took Kelly to Anna Belle's house for a much needed hang out.  Then headed back home so that everyone could have their fun.  Charity and I sneaked in a little date to Keva juice and (while we waited) Great Harvest (they gave us all their leftovers it was great :) ).  That was fun and very memorable!  It really was a nice relaxing day for the most part.  1-2-17

FHE
Luke had figured out his own really awesome analogy with light and darkness and really wanted to show it to the family so Erika traded him lessons and let him teach this week.  He showed us all his analogy with a flash light and showed how the light takes away the darkness just like the Spirit does.  So cool!  Luke's Spirit carries it's own light.  I'm really proud of him.  Everyone was so respectful and loved it as well!  Nate made us milk shakes for the treat!  So yummy.  That new blender has benefited all of us :).  1-2-17

PAINTING
Nate and I found out on Tuesday that our new bedroom furniture (Nate got me a new set for Christmas!) was going to be coming on Thursday the 5th instead of the 9th!  We were totally shocked and decided that we needed to get painting if we were going to have it done before the furniture got there.  The ONLY day we could really do it was Wednesday!  So after Nate got up and playgroup was over we started the cleaning out and removing of everything.  I taped, Nate painted the high walls.  It was a crazy CRAZY evening filled with scouts and mutual and basketball practice, all mixed in with dinner and trying to get the bedroom done.  I was nervous we weren't going to like it the whole time because I had picked out the color- light gray- and while we were painting it looked too light, when we got done, it looked almost too dark??  So weird.  Plus it reflects the colors in the room- so our blue sheet really brings out the blue in it.  Anyway- we pulled an almost all-nighter- much to Nate's dismay!  It almost felt like the old days when I would make us finish whatever we'd started no matter how torturous and late it was.  Thankfully I've changed a little and this doesn't happen too often.  It was worth it--- it turned out SO NICE!!!  I absolutely LOVE being in there- it's the sanctuary I always wanted our room to be.  It's been really fun.  I think there are a million other places in our house that need updating or new paint, but I'm SO glad we chose to do our bedroom.  I will have to post pictures from my phone.  It's kind of weird to want to show it off, but it's stayed so clean I've been able to take people in there even!  We do need to get a new bed spread one of these days- although, I'm not sure why- we both only use our one little blankies :).  We're weird.  It would look nicer though.  So we'll see.  We're going to go with something that will match my lamp Nate made me.  That is yet to come.  1-4-17

LATE START!
After staying up til about 3:00 am and sleeping in the midst of drying paint and plastic and tape and ladder and rags... you get the idea... it was a pleasant surprise to find out (too early of course- do they really need to wake us up at 5:00 to tell us we can sleep in??) that school was going to start two hours late!!!  Due to snow.  The kids were SO EXCITED!!  The ones that knew anyway :).  I'm still laughing about how Luke had no idea what time it was and that he'd had an extra two hours that morning once it was actually time to get ready.  Cracks me up.  It was a little chaotic since the furniture company was bringing and setting up our new furniture while the kids were getting ready to go.  Kind of made it a little crazy.  If only we could have planned that better... it was fine though.  Kind of memorable really :).  1-5-17

FRIDAY
This Friday was a lot of fun.  It was fun because Erika got her haircut, the girls went on their Christmas gift date to Station Park, and The boys all had a movie night.  It was just great :).  1-6-17

BASKETBALL
The boys all started their new season of basketball.  We got to attend their first games.  Noah's team did great!  He wowed us all with his mad dribbling skills!  Then we headed over to Davis High for Brad and Luke's game.  They did great as well!  It is so much fun to watch my boys play!!  I really could sit and watch them play basketball all day.  Any sports with my kids playing is just too much fun!!  I'm really excited for this season.  And glad that most of their games don't overlap.  1-7-17

Journaling from the Kids

KELLY:
Journaling  Kellys Maynes  1-7-17 [but it was actually the 8th :)]
Station Park with Charity and Erika

We left around 5:45 to go to station park Because mom gave us a gift card to Cinemark and one to Claire's and 40$ to go to any restaurant we wanted.  This was our Christmas gift :).  I have to say that I'm really glad mom and dad made me wear a coat because it was soooo cold!  So dad dropped us off near Cinemark so we could hurry and get our tickets.  Our movie started @7:30 so we had about an hour and a half to eat and go to Claire's.  We had all agreed to go to Panda Express for dinner.  It was SOOO good!!  We all got pretty much the same thing- Orange chicken and rice- then I got an egg roll and charity got some honey walnut shrimp.  I stuffed myself to the brim so I wouldn't be hungry during the movie.  Then after we enjoyed our food.  we had to walk back in 9 degrees on ice back over to Claire's which was like right next to Cinemark.  I only slipped about a million times!  And had a wonderful audience to laugh at me (Erika and Charity).  While we were at Claire's we spend like 15 minutes just looking around then we realized that we only had like 10 minutes until the movie so we hurried and picked out something we liked.  Shopping when I feel rushed is so hard and I take 10 times longer.  I picked out 4 headbands, Charity got an eyelash curler and a notebook and Erika picked out an adorable baby penguin stuffed animal and a best friend key chain.  We went at the perfect time because everything was buy 3 get 3 free!  Then we hurried over to the movie theater.  We all got our popcorn and treats.  We had the best spots by the balcony!  And I absolutely LVOED the movie!  It was called "SING" and it was HILARIOUS!  Then we walked all the way over to harmons.  Slipping on the ice again!  We bought some hot chocolate and waited for mom to come get us.  It was a total blast!!

On Monday, I was able to hang out with my best friend from Bountiful that i hadn't seen in like 2 years!  We both thought it was going to be super akward but it really wasn't!  We both acted pretty much the same.  It was really fun catching up and looking back on fun memories.  Then Anna Belle had the idea to go to a movie!  So we hopped into their car and drove over to the Megaplex theater.  Anna Belle was really nice and bought me a ticket, popcorn and a drink because seh's "rich" (inside joke :) )  We saw this rom-com called "La La Land" which I absolutely loved!  It was really fun to catch up with her again because I've really missed havin ga best friend!  I love Anna Belle!  she's so much fun to be around and talk with.

BRADLEY:
Last week we had a day w/ a late start  It was so fun.  I played In the snow and got freezing cold.
This Saturday was my frist b-ball game  It was so fun.  I scored about 15 points and got like 8 steals and 7 assists.  It was exhausting.  We won 38 to 35.  This season is going to be exciting.
This Monday was my first time Ice fishing!!  It was really fun.  I caught 3 fish.  It was really funny when boston lost the fish he caught because he threw a huge tantrum.  It was really cold.  Noah caught 1 mckay 0 Boston 2 Me 3.  I am the champion!!!!  I used powerbait and salmon eggs.

LUKE:
This week was chaotic (I think thats how it's spelled) on wednesday I had to get checked out of school to go to the dentist.  They said I needed anti-biotics for my tooth infection.  Also me and brad had our first basketball game of this year.  We won by three points.  The score was 28 to 25.  Oh and Erika got a haircut.

NOAH:
Noah 1/8/17
Mine and Erika's sleepover was so fun we were waiting for the phone to charge and we fell asleep wall we were waiting.  then we woke up and started to watch movies then we figured out it was 8:00 am.

ERIKA:
On Friday me and my mom and Kelly, went to the haircuting place.  My hair ws very short.  Kelly was very werd.  another thing I did on friday was I went to stashon Park with Kelly and Charity.  first we went to get some tikits.  We went to pandikspress.  then we went to Clairs after that we went to see the movie sing last we went to a stor and we got Hot cochlet then we went home.

CHARITY:
Charity Maynes 1/8/17
So for Christmas, Kelly, Erika nad I got a giftcard to Cinemark, dinner and Claire's.  We went on 1/6 and it was so much fun!  We left around 5:30 and ate dinner @ Panda Express.  Then we went to Claire's.  It was so fun to spend time together and be ourselves.  We each got something and then headed over to the movie SING! and got our popcorn and treats.  The movie was SO cute!  We all had a lot of fun.  Then we headed over to Harmons to get hot cocoa.  On the way there, we kept slipping and sliding on the ice.  It was a blast!  I loved spending that time together and learing more about each other.

JACK
Jack's latest thing is to color little scribblings of each color he can get his hands on.  Looks like a test paper for a box of crayons- kinda strange, but I gave him such a good reaction the first time, he's just stuck with it :).  When you find a winner :).  So he made a few of those this same night and I will try to get pictures of them to post in here.  Cute boy.

Week of 12-25-16

CHOIR
I absolutely loved singing in the choir on Christmas Day!  I don't think I've ever done that- that I can remember.  So amazing.  Made Christmas and celebrating the birth of Christ that much sweeter.  12-25-16

POST CHRISTMAS
I think this bug has gotten the best of us.  Nobody seems to be doing too well.  Everyone is on edge and having a hard time entertaining themselves.  Including me.  I hope we can snap out of it before Christmas break is over.  I wish say that at least we did just have Christmas- makes it a little easier to fake like we're having a good time :).  12-26-16

Well, I've been horrible at documenting things!!  I'm embarrassed.  I guess I have done a few picture posts from this week, but otherwise- I can't remember much!  I'm going to make an attempt to just hit the basics, but I'm sad I didn't take better notes.

KRISPY KREME
After the non-playgroup, it was too soon to go home because Nate was sleeping from the mid, so we (thanks to Kelly's idea) drove up to Krispy Kreme and got some of our free good grade donuts and took them down to visit the Hatches.  That was a lot of fun.  Just being able to hang out with them lately has been so much fun.  Too bad they were feeling sick, but we enjoyed their fun and then took off.  12-28-16

NEW YEAR'S EVE EVE WITH THE MAUGHANS
Since Nate had to work Saturday, I insisted that we hang out with the Maughans on Friday instead- took some twisting of Emily's arm, but we worked it out. Then invited ourselves to their house because it's much more pleasant to be in.  We had so much fun!!!  Everyone gets along so well!  I think we only had 2 moments of tears and I'm pretty sure, just based on how perfect all our kids are, that they were accidents.  We played a fun game called Racko that I totally loved!!  I want that game!  We quit before I had a chance to win of course, but made up for it with Apples to Apples where I proceeded to win every round (or was it just the last two?  Did we play more than two?  This memory of mine...).  It is always so fun to be with the Maughans.  They are such good friends, so easy going and it just feels so relaxed and comfortable.  We played a couple rounds of Telestrations during our overstay, which ended up being HILARIOUS!  I'm so glad we did that.  Then went home.  Such a good time.  Made up for not being able to hang out with them the next night :).  12-30-16
