Everyone was so anxious and excited for Molly's birthday! Kelly made her the cutest little sign (not sure why she didn't want to use the big one) that ended up totally making Molly's day :). She loved it! She kept going up to the door and touching it :). She was a little angel in the morning, but the birthday grumps really got to her by the end of the day. We went up to Grandma Ruthie's to get her and bring her back to the party. On the way home we ran a few errands and stopped at Becky's to fix her air conditioner. It was nice to spend time with Ruth.
When we got home I hurried and pumped out Molly's cake. Turned out to be pretty mediocre, but that was all there was time for. I hope she doesn't ever compare her cake to Erika's Kitty cake on her 2nd birthday. There's good days and bad days for making cakes- this ended up being a bad one. I should have made it the night before. But ANYWAY!

According to Erika, Kate was almost as excited about Molly's birthday as we were :). She even brought her a cute little gift over in the afternoon- so sweet! I love that my kids have the Maughans.
We had quite the time getting out the door to go to the park- probably should have just had it at home. Grandpa Hatch got the time wrong and came a half hour early, then Aunt Jen got the location wrong and sat at our house for a really long time before joining us at the park. It was a little chaotic to say the least! Plus we had forgotten ice cream, Molly needed diapers and wipes, so Nate ran to the store... it really was a mess. BUT cute little Molly really had no idea at that point. She is finally old enough to really enjoy the park and with all the older kids to help her with everything- it's even more fun!
Molly LOVED her cake!! That was another highlight of the evening. She wanted the head when we were cutting it and after placing the head of the kitty gently on her plate, she looked down at it and sweetly said, "Hi!" to the kitty head. Totally cracked us all up. She loved that kttty head all evening and then we threw it away with her barely-touched cake :).
I don't think Grandpa even knew how much Molly loves doggies!! This was the PERFECT gift!
She played, opened all her fun presents- including the handed down Strawberry Shortcake Lemon Custard doll from Aunt Jen! I can't believe she still had the box and this doll is in MINT condition!!! Somehow Jen managed to find some Lemon scented perfume to put on the doll so that she could still blow lemon when you squeezed her :). SO THOUGHTFUL!! How cool that she passed it on to Molly. There is a special little bond between Jen and Molly. I love that Jen gives her all the attention she gave the first grandkid :). And makes her day special too.

Luke INSISTED that we go to It's Sugar after Molly's party (he had wanted to go earlier, but it just wasn't going to fit) so that he and Bradley could go spend their money on candy gifts for Molly. I think this is totally cute and LOVE that my boys want to spoil their little sister! She got a lollipop, a gummi pizza and a box of marshmallow cereal- JUST marshmallows!
We seem to be out of wrapping paper?
I thought it was a successful birthday. Hopefully Molly did too. 9-1-17
