KELLY'S BIRTHDAY
Kelly's birthday came and went! We tried to spoil her a little throughout the day, even though I was having MAJOR issues with her cake! Dumb idea to make orange creamsicle cake backfired, so we resorted to rice krispies in the Narwhal Cake and lemon cupcakes with creamcheese frosting and cute little mini popsicles as the replacement. I was having a rough day fighting the drowziness from my allergy meds, but I think it ended up being a fun day for Kelly. Charity made her a beautiful sign, she got to go to Fiiz with the sibs. She and I had fun talking while we were getting things ready for the party and everyone else was out shopping for her gifts. Then Grandpa Hatch and Dawn, Grandma Ruthie and Aunt Jen, and Grandma Hatch and Simon all showed up to party with us! We ate inside, then went out for some lounging in the backyard. We didn't want to make grandma Ruthie go down the steps to the creek so we didn't go down there, even though Nate had worked all day to get it cleaned up down there! We never did roast marshmallows for some reason. But Kelly opened her presents and we ate cake and ice cream. We all watched Kelly play with her new lacrosse toys. Steve showed up to bring a little life to the party. Then they all left. We turned on another projector movie (Kelly had missed the one the night before because she was at Whitney's party), and watched Ferdinand. I just love that movie. It was a lot of fun to spoil Kelly. She deserves it! I can't wait to see what she chooses for our date! 6-2-18
"You are not here to live a mediocre to average life; you are here to live an amazing life, a miraculous life. If it weren't for your challenges, there would be no miracles. You must do that which seems impossible, for it is only in the impossible that miracles are had." - author unknown, but very respected

Last Day of School
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
Everyone survived the whole year! Charity got her yearbook on Thursday morning and was done after that. Kelly got hers on Wednesday, was done after that. Bradley didn't get his til Thursday and didn't have to go Friday. Luke was done after his graduation. Jack was done about the same time as Luke. Noah and Erika finished out Friday afternoon last but not least. I took my camera to go get pictures of the kids with their teachers and it was just Noah and Erika! (we'd missed Jack with Mrs. Piper, and he didn't really want to go back, but we got one back at his graduation a couple weeks ago) so that was weird :). But good times!! Summer here we come! 6-1-18
PARTY AT THE CLEMENSES
We went over to the Clemenses house for their little ice cream/water party (the idea that she stole from me last year :) ), and had a lot of fun! Even Kelly came :). I was suffering from my annoying allergies and some pretty bad cramps while we were there, but it was still a nice time. Great way to top off the year. 6-1-18

Luke's 6th Grade Graduation
LUKE'S SIXTH GRADE ADVANCEMENT
We had quite the crowd there, in support of Luke when I walked in from my doctor appointment. Nate, Charity, Kelly, Bradley and Molly were all saving me a seat. There were a few speeches, the kids sang some songs, it was so neat! It was crazy to think about the fact that Luke is moving on to Jr. High. He doesn't seem old enough yet! I mean, I think he's ready, especially academically, but it's just so weird. I am really excited for him though, to move on and do new things. I think he will like some of it. Then they had the awards. He got one for perfect attendance. He got the Gold Presidential Academic award (which is REALLY awesome!) and when he was on stage for that one, he made sure to wave and yell out, "HI MOM!" He's a cheese ball. He was sure he was going to get the Presidential fitness award and had been working toward the three year one but with the new PE teacher, didn't receive those or even a National Fitness award. We're not really sure what went wrong there. I've been emailing her to find out why he didn't get it and am still waiting to hear back. Mrs. Johnson the old PE teacher has been texting me angrily wondering what's going on as well. Kind of a bummer. But hopefully we can get that sorted out and Luke will get the certificate he was hoping for. Not just hoping for, the one that he earned. Janice and I both think this is why he didn't get to go to Decathlon. She really must have just entered in his info wrong. Which is a TOTAL BUMMER!! But we're trying not to think about that. Clint invited us all to Dairy Queen with them after to celebrate, so that was fun too. I love that Luke has done so well in school even though he openly dislikes it! I think we owe the perfect attendance to Mrs. Downs. She really made it a fun year and each day was something to look forward to. Here's to a great summer! 6-1-18
