RESURRECTION
I had Nate come and tell about his dad dying and his testimony of the resurrection. I think Nate's part went well. 3-18-18
SABBATH DAY
We still have a lot of work to do on how our house feels on Sundays after church. I don't know what it is. Okay, I do know what it is, but I hate that we let satan get us every Sunday. I wish we were doing better. I feel like I've tried so many things lately and nothing is working. We will keep trying- this is definitely something I'm willing to keep working on. I know how important it is. 3-18-18
NO SCHOOL MONDAY
We had an awesome day Monday. I loved not having school. The kids all got their rooms cleaned up and jobs done. Kelly had a lacrosse practice in the morning. Everyone seemed mostly happy. It was nice. Maya Mavy came over to be babysat. The kids all played in the creek, trampoline (Jack doesn't know what I'm talking about if I say tramp :) ), everywhere. It was such a nice day. We had wanted to go see Coco at the Kaysville Theater but apparently they didn't know it was a professional day or they would have had showings during the day! It wasn't showing until 7:00. That was a bummer, but we still managed to have some fun. Bradley fished at the ponds. At 3:00 we took Charity up to her interview and then hopped on over to Fiiz to get some drinks. We took Maya home and then ever so slowly and carefully, and legally, made our way down to South Jordan to go to dinner with Grandma Ruthie and Aunt Becky. Charity was driving of course :). She has been practicing in the van a little lately and we decided it was time to do some freeway time in the van! So we had her drive us to Grandma Ruthie's!! Pretty thrilling! We picked up Becky from work and then we all went to Francescos which I haven't been to in a very long time. It was fun to reminisce about Nate and I going there when we were dating. It was when I had gotten back from Cedar City on the draw that Nate sent me flowers! That was seriously so cool. He went to a lot of trouble to track down the hotel I was at because we had switched hotels at the last minute. And sent me some BEAUTIFUL flowers. Everyone was totally jealous :). Anyway. I got back from Cedar and we went to Francescos. I even remember I was trying to be mature and like mushrooms. It didn't really take and that was a short phase of mine, but oh well :). Becky brought a giant, green tie for the person who wore the least green on St. Patrick's Day, Jack, and a cool I heart Irish bracelet for the person who wore the most. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of us on St. Patrick's Day, still kicking myself about that obviously, but Noah got the bracelet. It was fun that Molly was sitting by Becky and Grandma and was totally being herself and talking with them and having a nice time. Everyone was happy and seemed to be having a good time. 3-19-18
CHARITY'S FIRST JOB INTERVIEW
Charity had her frist real job interview on Monday! At Seagull Book. She was in there for a long time (we went to Fiiz and even stayed fora while and then still had to wait in the parking lot). Charity said that they asked her all the things we told her they would ask :), and she felt really prepared. I was happy about that. She seemed to have a very positive experience. She didn't tell her right away about the job, so kind of left us all hanging, but she did say she really wanted to hire her. So that was cool. Nice job, Charity! 3-19-18
CRAZY BUSY TUESDAY MORNING
Tuesday was full of stuff on my calendar and everything needed to be planned out just so in order for it all to happen. I was on a tight schedule (said like an Englishman). I needed to take Charity and Kelly to their morningside at 6:30. Then take Luke to his play practice at 7:45. Charity and Kelly were supposed to come out at 7:50 so I could take them to school and get back in time to get myself and the Elementary kids ready. Unfortunately, they didn't get the message and were not out there until about 8:10. Charity and I had some unpleasant words with each other, I wasn't able to take her home to change, or go through her carpool lane/maze to take her to school and decided the best option (to keep up with my morning plan) was to drop her off a block before the seminary. She wasn't happy. But I got Kelly to school and then got home with just enough time to get myself and Molly ready. Jack was of course having one of his slower mornings, so that took some extra work as well, but I was able to get out the door by 8:40 with Grandma Hatch here to watch Molly so that I could go on Luke's field trip with him! It was a stressful morning! Doesn't look it on here, but it was! I'm glad it all worked out though. Deep breath. 3-20-18
FIELD TRIP WITH LUKE- HUBBLE 3D
I got to go with Luke to see my all-time favorite movie field trip! That movie is TOO COOL!! I love it. I think Luke liked it. He ate all my popcorn that he insisted I get even though I was not going to eat popcorn :). 3-20-18
KELLY TEAM DINNER
Kelly had her first team dinner for the season. I think she had a good time. She's really been enjoying the team bonding activities. I'm so proud of her and the comittment she has made to this team. It really is impressive. 3-20-18
4.0 DINNER WITH CHARITY
We finally got around to taking Charity out for her last three 4.0's! I let her pick something super special so that we could reward her for all three at once. Fair? I don't know, but it was the only way I thought we'd actually get them all done. We had a nice time! Charity seemed to enjoy it better than when she was a baby. No crawling under the table with they lit the grill on fire at least :). Nobody caught their shrimp. I'm blaming the chef. It was a nice time though. I know I'm going to miss these when she graduates. 3-20-18
PTA
Amy finally consented to being President for next year. Not sure why she wanted to string me along for so long, she already had her board all figured out (without the help of the nominating committee even), but she finally gave me a yes on Wednesday so that I could pass the information on to Council. Kind of a relief. 3-21-18
MOLLY
As we were driving to Burger King with Grandma Hatch (after my PTA meeting) I asked the kids what they wanted to eat. Molly gave me a quick, high pitched and very serious, "I pickee hickee nugget" (I pick chicken nuggets) I'm still laughing about it!! 3-21-18
BABY GABBY AND MAYA
We got to tend baby Gabby and Maya again on Wednesday night. Trying to help Bro. Mavy to have time to do homework. She and Maya got to come to Kelly's Lacrosse game with us! That was fun. Then we came home and played for a while and then settled down a little watching Maya's favorite show, Nailed It- the kids loved this and keep watching it since. 3-21-18
NATE- RECURRENT TRAINING
Nate's schedule has been all outta wack this week. He didn't work the mid and then had to work Wednesday (which was so inconvenient with my PTA Council meeting :) thankfully my mom watched Molly), then he worked again on Thursday. Saturday and Sunday were even weirder with his shift being a 7-3. It's always weird to have him home when we're not used to it and to not have him when we are. We're grateful for his hard work and for doing what he does to provide for our family. 3-22-18
CHARITY'S DRIVER'S TEST
Charity took her driving test on Thursday!! She was SO nervous!! It was fun to see her dancing back to the car after when she passed! We just need to get 15ish more hours and she'll have her license!! 3-22-18
KEY CHAINS
Nate and I scoured the city for the perfect key chain for Charity for when she gets her license :). It's amazing how few cool key chains there are in the world! I miss the old days. 3-23-18
DATE WITH NATE
Nate and I went out to see Black Panther. Pretty cool show! Lots of political agenda creeped into it, but it was still really cool. Lots of thinking and discussion afterwards over our no/low carb salads at Costa Vida. It was a nice little break from life. I'm in desperate need of this right now. 3-23-18
KELLY YOGA
For some team bonding, Kelly's team did yoga on Saturday morning together. She seemed to have a fun time despite them resorting to just having one of the girls lead them in it :). 3-24-18
BIRTHDAY DATE WITH CHARITY
We decided to go out during the day so that we could hang out with dad when he got off at 7:00 (weird schedule). After much deliberation we settled on doing the same thing we did last time which was manicures. We made our way down to our place and they didn't have room for us. So we hopped on over to Waffle Love for our lunch (Charity's choice- and SOOOOO delicious!) and then found a new nail salon over by Plates and Palates on 400 N. The cute chinese ladies did an awesome job! They giggled a lot which was unsettling, but whatever. We ended up getting pedicures and manicures! It was a lot of fun and oh so relaxing. I loved it. I think Charity was surprised at how ticklish her feet are :). Then we ran over to Bath and Body Works to redeem my gift card. Such a good time! I wish we could do this stuff more often. 3-24-18
BASKETBALL WITH BRAD
Brad had asked Nate to play basketball with him but Nate had just eaten a giant bowl of salad, so he needed a minute. He ended up falling asleep. Eventually Brad just resorted to inviting me to play with him :). jk. We had a lot of fun! He is getting so good! I am too for that matter :). I like that he lets me pick the rules and is generally pretty gentlemanly during the whole thing :). I mostly just love that he asked me to play and that it got the other kids out there to play with us too! Makes me wish we had a court in our backyard all of a sudden. We all got a kick out of Molly running around in Erika's bright pink jacket which was way too big for her. Fun kids. 3-23-18
SOMETHING FUN
So Charity was going to Lindee's house, Bradley, Luke and Noah were invited to a movie night at Clemens', that left Kelly, Erika, Jack and Molly with Nate and I for a Saturday night! We knew we needed to do something cool, but we couldn't think of anything!! That's not true- Kelly thought of painting ceramics, but that was kind of out of the question. So we sat here kind of racking our brains for an idea. Thankfully, Nate came up with the idea of going to Cold Stone for ice cream (even though he's doing no-carbs) and then a game night when we got home. It ended up being a TON of fun!! Molly and I loved it when the kid scooping up hers and Jack's tossed the ice cream up in the air and caught it in the cup! He almost dropped Molly's, saved it, and then it bumped the arm of the kid next to him so he had to throw it out and try again. Which he did and still threw it up in the air again- which we loved! It was so much fun! The best part was Molly acting out him trying to save the ice cream, hitting it with the scooper and bouncing it all over- it was hilarious! whoa whoa whoa... like she's juggling! We came home and played Telestrations and finished my puzzle! It was fun to see some of Jack's drawings! He's getting really good at it! His castle was my favorite- especially the flag :). Which he pointed out as being "weewy good!". 3-24-18

Last Games of the Season
BASKETBALL
Well, this was our last games of the season. It was not the best ending for Noah and Brad, but with how the whole season went for them, I guess it was to be expected. It wasn't our favorite season. They had some tough games, especially this week. Noah really let the disappointment get to him and needed a little pep talk when it was over. He just had so many newbys on his team... they worked so hard though- all of them tried their best and actually improved a little too. We're hoping for better luck next year. Brad's game was rough too. He had some horrible refs and then just all the same problems with his coach that we had all season. He did not know how to strategize or build the boys up. I really felt like this was a stifling year for Brad. I hope he doesn't lose his confidence and his love of the game and that he will just keep trying. He is still planning on trying out for the school team next year, so that's good. Luke's last game was SO MUCH FUN to watch. So intense. They were neck and neck the whole game. Towards the end, the other team got ahead by four. But just before the last minute, Luke took a three point shot and MADE IT!! Which brought them up to 19 to 20. That last minute took about five minutes to play with all the time outs and such, and we didn't ever make another shot, but it was an intense last minute!! SO much fun!! We had had a very enjoyable game so it was okay that we didn't win. It had been such a great season for Luke with these coaches. They were both so nice and relaxed, they just let the boys have fun for the most part- I really appreciated that for Luke. A nice positive experience. It was a fun season overall. We just love spending our Saturdays watching the boys play- it's been so fun! 3-10-18

Charity's 16th Birthday!
CHARITY'S 16th BIRTHDAY!
It actually happened! My baby girl turned 16!! It's so weird when I think about it! 16 was like yesterday for me and I remember it so well- it's hard to believe she's already there. It did make me smile a little when she chose funnel cakes for breakfast :). She's still my little girl at heart :). So thanks to Emily and her four eggs- we made funnel cakes for breakfast. She woke up to her cool sign courtesty of Kelly and her ability to stay up late making amazing birthday signs. Charity was up bright and early, read her scriptures, just really on top of the day :). I wish I'd been so- I would have had gifts wrapped and let her open one before school :). But she headed off. Nate and I had big plans to clean the house while the kids were at school. To get ready for the big surprise party. We got so much cleaning and talking done. It was nice. We did some last minute shopping for the party, then took Charity out to lunch! Panda Express- her choice- that was a lot of fun. Who doesn't love spending a lunch with their birthday girl! We dropped her off and then grabbed some flowers and a card to surprise her with at school- seemed like a fun idea :). Then did some more last minute stuff for the party :). This was a very exciting afternoon!! We couldn't wait! We got the elementary school kids, then the Jr. High-ers, then Charity... the afternoon was building up! We had to tell a few kids here and there about the plans for the evening since they were all under the impression we were going to go to a Jazz game that night, but we really weren't, so I didn't want them missing out on things because of it. Anyway- it was a crazy little lie, but Nate and Charity were finally off to "go to the Jazz game". Somehow we sold the idea that I needed to bring everyone else separately. Not sure why that didn't raise some red flags. But While Nate and Charity were driving to Salt Lake, I was running around getting things all set up and ready to go. I picked up Noah from his birthday party, got the balloons, got a call from Nate and Charity saying "it was actually an away game!" Tried to play up the disappointment. Then had Kelly finish the banner for me, got all the food out, welcomed the guests! It was SO MUCH FUN!! So busy. So eventually we were ready for Charity to come home. It was so much fun to see her sad little no-jazz-game-after-all face light up as each of her friends came out and said surprise! She was so happy!! I loved it! I think that the fact that we will still be going to a game on Tuesday made this whole lie okay. She seemed to be perfectly happy with the surprise party and having her friends over and everything- it was a lot of fun to do for her. She had a about six friends, we had pizza and snacks, they played Curses and Say Anything. They stayed pretty entertained all evening! So much so that I forgot to get out the ice cream cake!!!! I don't know how I forget these things. Luckily there were still a few guests here at 11:00 when we finally remembered. So embarrassing that we had a party without cake for most of the guests! Weird. Whatever. I think Charity enjoyed her day. I'm glad it wasn't completely stomped on. 3-9-18
