We had another day off from school! Pretty happy about that! It ended up being a lot of fun! We got some cleaning up done around the house, not too much because I feel guilty when we do that on days off. But enough. It just so happened that Nate had the day off too, as well as the next two days! Pretty exciting! Too bad we didn't have any big exciting plans! But we did manage to have a nice time. Kelly and I went and visited Mary Jo finally, took her a little wooden sign that Kelly had written "Choose Happy" on. Turned out pretty cute. We need to get over to Shar's now. But anyway- when we got home, we all loaded up in the car and went up Immigration canyon. We were wanting a little picnic in the mountains. We found a little reservoir with picnic tables, had some delicious lunch- Nate made me the basket weave bacon as the outside of a sandwich with lettuce, avocado, and cheese- YUMMY cheese- inside. It was SO DELICIOUS!! But too filling- I had to share with Brad. It was a nice pleasant picnic. Brad took Noah and Jack fishing when they were all done eating. The rest of us just talked and I took a few pictures. It was really nice and relaxing! After our picnic, we went to the zoo!
the bear had an itch for quite a while
Can I just say how much I loved this trip to the zoo?!! It was SO AWESOME! I've been telling anyone and everyone I talk to about the zoo that my older kids don't really care much for it anymore, but this trip proved me ALL WRONG!! It was SO. MUCH. FUN!! Everyone was happy the whole time- we all walked around together completely content to look at whatever was next, nobody was complaining about what they hadn't seen yet- it was amazing! And my favorite part was how into everyone got! Showing stuff to Molly or Jack, getting all excited about little things... it was so cool! Molly was adorable and loved almost every minute of it! I could have done without all the trips to the bathrooms, especially the ones when she didn't even go, but really, I can't complain. We even got to see a heated moment between two of the Apes and I think that was probably everyone's favorite part- watching the Apes. They were hilarious! Trying to shake the peanut butter (guessing) out of the box, and the way they hold things up and look in them. Watching them try to pick up little seeds with their huge fingers... the apes were entertaining to say the least. We got to see the baby one too! Loved that! The kids had a total blast in the water fountain and playground. I loved that part. They were so much fun for each other! We were there for three whole hours! I had no idea we'd last that long! They basically had to kick us out of there. The only sad part was when we scrambled over to see the Red Pandas because Noah and Erika were so excited for that part- they weren't out anymore. Such a bummer. I want to go back when the giraffe is born! That would be so fun! Anyway- good times! I am no longer going to say that my big kids don't like the zoo! I thought for sure they would be disappointed by this trip, but they weren't at all! SO much fun! We went to Costco on our way home and had hotdogs/pizza for dinner.
