OFF
Man was I off today! Holy moly. I can only assume it was the annoying night's sleep with Jack in my bed. It was not a good sleep. But I was completely distracted ALL day. All through church I was feeling restless. I didn't have the energy to think of something other than hang man when the two beehives teaching finished their lesson about 20 minutes early. I was restless all through Gospel Doctrine. It was so hard. I really wanted to learn something and gain something from that class, but I don't know that I did... not yet anyway. It was an odd feeling. Sacrament meeting was a lot of work. With Jack on my lap and Luke next to me- we made a new rule this week, no more letting Luke sit by Jack. It's a recipe for irreverence and I'm done with it. I came home and crashed on the couch. I was so exhausted I was barely able to say goodbye to Nate when he left for work. Then I had to drag myself out of the house to go to the church with Charity to be with her while she got released and then called. So nuts. I came home and was just off. I can't think of any other way to describe it. I tried indexing a little but that didn't help, I couldn't stay focused. I know this is pregnancy brain a little, but it was messed up. I was in a lot of pain for the rest of the evening. Maybe talking to Kim Budd about her surgery when I took her dinner triggered something in my own uterus... it was not fun. I get this everyone once in a while, almost feels like I'm ovulating only it doesn't go away. It's not so much the pain but the worry that gets me. That lasted through most of the evening, I think the worst part was during the kids' Lamb of God practice. I felt like throwing up most of it too... doesn't make me very fun to be around I'm sure. It's times like those I wish I could just tell people- I'M PREGNANT! That's why I'm no fun to be around!! Not yet though. So anyway. Hopefully I can get a better night's sleep tonight. I did manage to read scriptures with the kids and it was really cool. When the Kingmen are getting beat up by Moroni's men. It's crazy how much it sounds like what's going on in our own country with people wanting to change laws and such. Scares me a little. But it's like I told the kids- we have Heavenly Father on our side... or rather, we are on His. We will be protected as long as we are faithful and stay close to Him. I love that. I also found it interesting (after Kelly was asking if this was when Moroni was being wicked) that there are times in the Book of Mormon when fighting is the answer, and Heavenly Father protects them and people die. Then you have the times when it's not right to fight and you are supposed to bury your weapons and never pick them up at all cost. Heavenly Father wants us to follow His counsel. Things are not always the same. The purpose of these events is to carry out Heavenly Father's plans. We do not get to choose which way to carry them out sometimes- he is the one that decides, and whether it makes sense to us or not, sometimes our job is just to follow. It made me thing about this whole thing with Nate's old companion who is letting a few questions pull him away from the church. We do not know everything. We do not know all the why's. We are working on a single plane here as earthly residents. We don't know what Heavenly things are like. We do not know what things will matter later (for the most part) and how things will look when we take on a more Heavenly/Celestial perspective. I think Nate is right, I think that's part of the goal here on earth is to gain that perspective, but really, until we are there, we have to rely on His vision, and His plan. We don't get to use our little bit of knowledge to make ALL the decisions here. Some things are better left up to Him. I think it's a good thing really. I'm glad he has all the answers. I'm glad He knows all the times when a war is necessary or when chopping someone's head off to save a nation is the solution. I'm glad that he is in charge and will be our judge as well. He knows all. We don't. That's all. 2-15-15
PRODUCTIVITY
So even though it was President's Day and I should have been playing with my kids, I got this crazy motivation to organize some areas of my house. We all know how seldom this happens, so I had to jump on it. Plus, my kids were off entertaining themselves (or the neighbors were... either way). I finally cleaned up and organized my closet after nearly killing myself changing out the old lightbulb. Then I went down to the game room and put all of the games back together and reorganized (and let's be honest, got rid of some of) the books. Sounds small, but let me just tell you- it took me three hours for that one project! Not cool, please don't judge, but that room was a complete disaster area. I have no idea how it gets like that. Then I played with the marble game with Jack for a while :). Nagged Kambree a little, talked with Kelly a lot- and tricked her into helping me as well. Then I came up to the kitchen and just had to organize the desk and cupboard above. It looks amazing now!! It's too bad it can't stay like that forever. Nate picked up a cute shelf I found on KSL today, so I plan to organize the toys a little tomorrow. But how cool am I!! I didn't lay down once the entire day!!! This is big. I am not wanting to jump to conclusions but I'm wondering if the energy, or lack of constant nausea was from the Milk Thistle Heidi got me and is "forcing" me to take. I don't want her to say "told ya so" though, so I'll wait til I'm more sure :). But anyway- it was a great day! If only I'd been better at enforcing Charise's rules on Kambree- I gave in and let her go down to the creek and of course, that was when she showed up to pick her up. I'm a horrible babysitter. Especially if you tell me your kid can't watch any screens, play outside, or eat anything other than her lunch while she's here. I broke most of those rules. As far as I know, she didn't use any screens. Miraculously that was the one thing the kids didn't do today. She did however eat her lunch (without my knowledge/permission) at about 10:00, so needless to say she was starving by 4:00 when Charise came. I don't know if I care or not. I kinda think you get what you pay for. I'm not into enforcing other people's punishments on my time. So anyway. Hopefully I haven't ruined things and she can still come here. I say that because I hate the thought of where she will end up if it's not here. But who knows, with how horrible I am, maybe there's someplace better... 2-16-15
CHOICES
Charity taught a great lesson on why the choices we make are important. I really loved how much she got into it and all the thought she put into it. Cute Noah put quite a bit of thought into his activity/(pretty much a second lesson) as well. He's so sweet. Even bearing his testimony about it at the end. Love that kid. 2-16-15
LUKE'S FIELD TRIP
I got to go to the movies with Luke Tuesday. I LOVE the movie field trip. I know this makes me sound lazy (I am), but I love the field trip because I don't have to do anything :). I drive Luke and I to the theater, we get our popcorn and drink, sit and watch a movie in peace, no wrangling/corralling little people) and then we leave! It's perfect. I like other field trips to, but this is my favorite.

SECTIONAL
We got a new couch for our family room! Reminds me of Grandma Mottishaw, journaling about her new couch :), but it is pretty exciting! When I found it on KSL $300 for a dark brown sectional, even the fact that it was clear up in Pleasant View couldn't get me to pass it up. We all love it! We all sat and enjoyed it's comfy-ness for the rest of the day :). It was kind of funny, but we really all just sat here talking about how nice it was to be comfortable in our family room :). We moved Grandma's couch downstairs and now the game room has a nice cozy feel to it! So win/win. 2-17-15
NAL
Charity's last NAL match was this Wednesday. They were at Centennial. I just about freaked out on the other teams couch. He was NUTS!!! Argued EVERY SINGLE QUESTION!!! That was an exaggeration, but seriously, he was a pain in the neck!!!! The match went 20 minutes over because of all of his arguing. He robbed us of about 10 points by the end. And we still won by 10! There was no chance they were going to win and we all knew it from the first minute of the game. So irritating! I will be done. Kind of a bummer that we're done for the year, hopefully she really does it again next year... 2-18-15
BEEHIVES
This week I learned that I need to be more patient in my adjustment to Beehives. They are not the same as Mia Maids. I've been saying this for a year, I just had no idea just how different they really are. We had a board game night (our rest home plans fell through), it was insane. Everyone seemed to have fun though :). 2-18-15
BASKETBALL
Charity got Ashley to come to basketball this week!! Go Charity! 2-19-15
BUSY FRIDAY
Nate and I got lots done on Friday, it was nice, and fun to do it all together. We edited all of Dan and Adele's pictures together made a CD (a faulty one, but we didn't know it at the time), went to deliver it before Patience's Viewing, enjoyed the viewing and family prayer with Nate's family, unfortunately we couldn't stay for the funeral. We stopped at home to get the kids from school, went back down to bountiful, picked up Erika, stopped at the DI to drop off all the stuff I've been decluttering out of my house. Then went and blew a bunch of money at the Scout shop. I know I should get rid of this attitude, but Scout stuff is SOOOOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE!!!! I'll get over it one of these days.... maybe. We decided to just get Bradley the blue shirt he is supposed to have right now, a smaller one that will fit Noah better when he starts in January. This gives me time to find a cheap tan one for Bradley to wear in 8 months. I managed to sew everyone on his shirt before our Blue and Gold banquet that night. It was awesome. I was proud of myself. Felt like a good mom for a minute. We got the carpets cleaned, and I filled out the Kindergarten forms for Erika!! before going to the banquet with Brad and Luke. It was a busy day!! Didn't end there, everyone wanted to have late nights when we got home so we had about five extra kids here for that until about 10:00 and then the day was ready to be over :). Lots of fun!! I'm so glad my kids have good friends and that they're the kind of friends I don't mind having over for late nights. This isn't always the case, I know it's a blessing. 2-20-15
LUKE'S FIRST SHOT!
Brad and Luke's basketball game was especially fun this week. My boys played so well! The other team had a couple of really good shooters, I'm talkin'- one kid didn't miss any of the shots he took and he took a LOT! So we got behind pretty quickly, I think we were down by 18 at one point. But our boys totally stepped it up and were such fighters the entire game!! Luke made his first basket- YAY!!! He was off on one side of the hoop, all by himself and someone passed the ball to him and he just automatically went for it!! It was such a cool shot!! The crowd went wild of course!! He is like the passer/stealer/jump ball-er on the team, not usually the shooter, even though he totally could be, I think he just likes to be a team player, but that game was so cool to watch and witness his first shot in a game. Bradley played like a rockstar as well. He fell a few times and one time I think he thought he was done for good, but then I noticed him looking over at Mrs. James (his school teacher came to watch his game, how cool is that!) and he just couldn't sit out :). Cute kid. It was a lot of fun. Oh, we ended up losing the game, but only by 3 points!! Pretty amazing if you ask me. 2-21-15
BAJIO
Kenni, Heather and I finally went out after much rescheduling. It was short, but sweet, I enjoy girl time without the kids and chaos of life. It's nice to know that other people are going through life as well, and surviving. I like being able to be a support to each other. 2-21-15
CHINESE NEW YEAR
We went to my Mom's for their Chinese New Year celebration. Simon always goes all out. They had lots of food (of which I was not feeling up to eating), fun riddles and word games, and lucky money. I was SO TIRED the whole time we were there, I thought I was going to fall asleep and that would have been embarrassing. Hopefully this tired phase ends soon.... ha! yeah right. 2-21-15
TWELVE WEEKS
So I adjusted my app to the new due date, did I mention that? It's September 5th now. So Saturday was technically 12 weeks. Our baby is about the size of a large plum :). Growing like a weed. I feel myself getting a little better with the nausea. I have better days at least. I tried the Milk Thistle Heidi sent me and it seemed like it worked for a day... not sure what that was all about, but I keep taking it hoping it will work again. I have had some really bad days too, for some reason. It's hard to come back from the gagging when I brush my teeth in the morning. But I'm doing alright. These hormones are way too noticeable. I am a monster inside. It's scary. I'm trying to compensate for it. I'm trying not to let them get the best of me, but I feel like my physical body is calling all the shots right now. I think this is the feeling that has always made me feel like I'm distant from my Heavenly Father. I need to overcome this. I have to this time, I may not get another chance at it. I keep reading my scriptures every morning, in fact, waking up early still, seems to be helping a lot as well. I've been so busy lately I haven't really even been able to take naps during the day and I think that's part of my tiredness, but we're going to make it through it all. So anyway. This baby must be hanging around a little bit, or something, because Jack is obsessed with babies lately!! Everything small is a baby. He loves looking at pictures of babies. I've told him a few times that I have a baby in my tummy but he doesn't really seem to get it. I think he's getting as excited as me though :). It's fun to think about him with a little brother or sister. I think he might actually be ready by the time this one gets here. I loved watching Erika with our little neighbor Evi too, she is going to be such a great help, I can tell already. She was so good with her and so patient. I think she'll love having a new baby around. Everyone else is oblivious! I'm so surprised they haven't figured it out yet. Apparently they forget all the first trimester symptoms too. Or forget what they mean. They really should have caught on by now :). It's all good though, the later we tell them, the less time they have to patient. I'm not in the patience making business. 2-21-15

Sorry you've been feeling crappy. Wish I could fix it! I have been craving Bajio's so bad, so I'm jealous you have one up there. I also want to try that new Thai restaurant you've been telling me all about!
