Kelly had an awesome day! She woke up bright and early at 4:45am to 11 balloons (one of them popped on the way home- she never even said anything, so I think it was okay :) ), each with a gift to be opened on the hour, each hour until the "Twelve Hours of her Birthday" were accomplished :). New tradition. I like it :). I did this for Charity but since hers was on Sunday I was able to jut give her the gifts each our. I liked the balloon idea and wanted Kelly to have the choice of taking them to school or not... anyway. She and I left for the temple at 5:00. This was so special!! I think this is one of the biggest payoffs yet, for being a mom, is seeing my kids all dressed in white, in the House of the Lord. It's such a sweet feeling. I loved telling all the workers that it was her first time there. They were so fun about it too, one elderly man offered her some "temple mints" since it was her first time. Very cute. She went through everything like a pro. Soaking in the spirit of it all. It was so neat. I am so grateful for this blessing. And the blessing of children who are worthy and want to spend the first possible minutes that they can, in the temple. I feel so blessed!
So we came home, got ready for school. She got to open her present some Sharpies and sticky notes (always a winner with Kelly) from Erika and a couple of the twelve hour ones. Kelly had her big rocket launch that day, so that was cool. And she passed out her ice cream sandwiches (I think this is the third year in a row that she passed those out :)-- when you find a winner :) ). So I think her school day was birthday worthy. How could it not be the last week of school.

We had her family party that night, at the Castle Park in Fruit Heights. We had a really good turnout! It was really fun to have Dan and Adele there- now that they live close we get to enjoy their company at these things :), or maybe they just wanted free dinner, who knows :) jk. Aunt Jen made it all the way up here and Grandma Ruthie and Grandpa Russ as well. It's always cool that they make the drive. Grandpa Hatch, Grandma Hatch, Heidi and John were also there. So lots of fun! We had pizza, salad, fruit and I made some adorable cupcakes (if I do say so myself) for dessert. I think Kelly enjoyed her day. Unfortunately I failed to take my camera to the party, I did get a few pics on my phone, but we all know that it'll be a while before we see those, so sorry. Slacker. 6-2-15
