We woke up at 5:00 am, dragged everyone out of bed and got up to the Idaho Maynes' church by 9:15 (we were a little late thanks to my bathroom break plus surprise). It was a nice drive for the most part. Becky had come with us so we talked with her a little. Most of the kids slept, so that was nice for them. Church was great- I loved Jake's talk. He is going to make a great missionary, I have no doubt about that. The kids loved being the visitors in Primary and YM/YW. Relief Society was nice too. It's always different to go to RS when I've been in Primary for so long. But I did have a nice time discussing ministering- I really want to get better at that. We stayed at the Idaho Maynes' house eating food and treats til 3:00! It was a really nice time! I loved all the discussion we were all having! Austin and Caden have grown up so much- it's crazy to have them there with all the adults talking about adult things- gets me kind of excited for my kids to reach that stage... but also not. We had a nice drive home- listened to the BYU talk Nate had learned about from someone in the nursery. It was really cool! All about LCHFMP dieting. I'm so fascinated by it I've listened to it several times along with some other podcasts by the same professor. Makes me feel like this is a good direction for me. We got home around 6:00. Said goodbye to Becky, got settled in and ate some food (no formal dinner for us), then showed Cokeville Miracle to Nate! He loved it. 9-23-18
BACK ACHE
So last week during all of our driving around, I had reached into the back seat to help Molly with something and reached too far, pulling something in my back. It's been sore since then, and the yard work Saturday didn't seem to help, but nothing like how it felt Monday morning!! I struggled to get comfortable in bed Sunday night and then waking up Monday morning so stiff! I did some stretching routine from my AthleanXX, but by the afternoon I was barely able to move! It was awful! Shooting pain randomly no matter what I did- something hurt it! It was so bad I ended up just sitting down on the couch and crying. Poor kids- they never know what to do, but they're always so sweet to put their arms around me or offer to help with things- Brad offered to finish dinner like a sweetheart! It was bad. I was grateful the Ibu/Tylenol helped that night and I was able to sleep. Tuesday was another repeat of Monday, maybe slightly less painful, so hopefully it's getting better slowly. Not my favorite way to spend my empty week that I'd planned to catch up and get my house under control! So annoying! 9-24-18
FHE
Nate did a really awesome lesson about our formal callings to come to earth and to this particular family. He typed up and handed out "calls" to each kid with the words from his mission call, but changed to talk about them being called into this family. It was so cool to watch them read it and experience just how special and important that really is. I have so many strong feelings about how our kids came to this family and in what position and who decided what... I was glad Nate let me share that with them. I think it was a really meaningful lesson- I was so glad he had been inspired to do that. We drew names for Christmas as my activity since I was writhing in pain on the couch and could barely move. Then went to Menchies for Charity's treat. I loved everyone's laughter about Molly's hiccups in the car as she was trying to say, "A birthday party?" (like the clown on Inside Out- since we had been trying to come up with a fun Halloween themed costumes). I LOVE it when everyone is enjoying the same thing together. Makes me happy. 9-24-18
TUESDAY BACK PAIN
So the pain is still there. I was a little relieved when Summer cancelled our plans to hang out today because driving to the school to do reading and driving back was more than my back wanted today. Molly and I sat around most of the day hoping my back muscles would get enough relax in between making and delivering potatoes for the High School teachers, driving kids home from school and to their various practices and such, but I don't think it worked. Not my favorite. 9-25-18
NOAH'S HEART THING
So I just want to document that Noah had an experience with the heart thing today that lasted much longer than usual. And was bothering him enough to call and have me bring him home. Yes, I realize he could have been faking it, but just in case he's not. I don't remember ever having it last that long. I need to talk with Brent. Noah said that it seemed to hurt when he was bending over. Interesting. He was however just fine after a short nap and wanted to go back to the school for Race Cats! 9-25-18
ROCKET DERBY
apparently these are the only pics we got from this activity. mom fail. But it does capture Noah's rocket sticking itself in the grass quite nicely.
We had a Rocket Derby for Pack Meeting tonight! SO much fun! I had no idea how cool this would be! I wish I'd brought my camera! The rockets went SO HIGH! I was glad that they let all the kids make one and launch them. Noah had a great time as well. Good stuff! 9-25-18
MOLLY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY INVITE

COURT OF HONOR
We FINALLY had another court of honor. I think it's been well over a year. And the last one we went to Brad was so new, I don't know if he was awarded anything. Anyway. It was a nice night! Noah babysat Jack and Molly until Charity and Kelly got home so Nate and I got to sit there alone together! Kinda nice. Erika was in the play room. I got some pics. They were awarded tons of merit badges and their First Rank! 9-26-18
The best part about Pack Meeting/Court of Honor is running around the gym after.

CHARITY ASKING TO CHRISTMAS DANCE
Charity FINALLY got up the courage, and had the time to ask Jac to Christmas dance! She used my awesome idea with the bucket of ice cream and oreo "dirt" with gummi worms to ask him. It was pretty hard to doorbell ditch it because he was outside when we were there, but we had the idea to just leave the bucket on the sidewalk and then anonymously (with my phone) text him that it was there. She was pretty stressed and nervous about it, but in the end, I think she had a good time. His reaction was pretty funny, once he found her name, but I think he was pleasantly surprised :).
NOAH'S BIKE FIELD TRIP WITH NATE
I signed Nate up to go on this field trip with Noah and it ended up being a lot of fun (or so they say :) ). All I know is when Molly and I were walking home from the school, on our really long walk :), we got to see all the fifth graders on their bikes and then following closely behind, Nate riding in Natalie's van, with his bike in the back of Mr. Paver's truck! He of course got a flat tire- that's what usually happens right after we fix a flat. I think he managed to have some fun regardless. We need to get them to write up something. 9-27-18
FIRST LAX GAME OF THE SEASON!
Kelly's first game was on Thursday. They had to play American Fork which was a bummer considering how good that team is. It wasn't the funnest game to play, we lost by a lot, but it was really good to see how our team is doing. This is clearly going to be a growing year. We have so many new girls and they're all so young, but I can see their potential! Gets me excited for the next couple years. Kelly didn't love this game or the weird scrimmage thing after. Here's to next week's game :). 9-27-18
MOLLY
Molly was "going go poop" at Kelly's game so we ran over to the Seminary building which thankfully was open for Parent Teacher conferences, so she could use the bathroom. I took her in the tiny room and helped her with her panties and such. Well-- and you can just stop reading when I've said too much, but this was too funny not to ingrain this into our memory-- I looked in the toilet and saw the biggest poop I've seen in a while. Especially having come out of my tiny little Molly! So I mentioned how big it was. Molly's reply: Yep. Big. Big. Big. Long. Poop." Totally nonchalant! I busted up, of course, and have used it as my, "I don't know what to say" quote whenever we're looking for something to say. HILARIOUS! 9-27-18
JACK'S CLASS READING
I got to go read with Jack's class for the first time, on Friday. He was so sweet to me and so happy to see me! Hugged me like crazy :). Then he acted all official when Mrs. Burns gave him the books to carry-- such a cutie! I think we could work on his reading skills a little better, but it was fun to be with him. 9-28-18
JUNIOR JAZZ NIGHT
Our big fun for Friday night- which I was so happy we were able to do and had no other conflicting things- we went to the Vivint Smart Home Arena to shoot some free throws on the court, play some games and get free shirts, and then sit in our awesome seats to watch the 3-point contest between a lot of the Jazz players. Brad wore Nate's new Mitchell jersey. Charity borrowed one of Nate's Jazz shirts (why doesn't she have one of her own you ask? I don't know, we need to fix that). Noah and Erika were wearing their Junior Jazz jerseys. We were set! What a fun night!! The kids had a blast! Even Molly did pretty good during the slow parts! I was so relieved! Everyone kept thanking us for taking them- it really was a fun night. If only we'd been able to get pictures with all the players like last year. But still- such a fun night with THE WHOLE FAMILY!! Been a while since we had everyone together for something like that. We stopped at Panda Express on our way home. 9-28-18
CAR WASH FUNDRAISER
Kelly's team has decided they want new uniforms. Much to the parents' dismay. It's kind of a weird year to get new ones, with the Farmington girls leaving next year, but I'm all for something other than brown :). So they decided to start fundraising. Their first idea was a car wash! The girls put this together all by themselves, under the direction of Kiersten and probably her mom :). I was impressed because until the day of, we weren't even sure if they had a water supply :). Fun stuff. But it was great! They made $541 dollars! Their last car they washed was a guy who gave them $100!!! Pretty cool. I think that's a great start and a big dent into the $3,000-ish they will need :). Kelly got to make the signs and held them up. We were able to go get both of our cars washed following Erika's soccer game! It is always fun to see Kelly in action. 9-29-18
DATE WITH ERIKA
I can't believe I keep forgetting to take pictures on these dates with my kids! I'm such a slacker! Saturday night was my date with Erika! She is the second to last one! She had given me the Panda Express card, so that's where we went! It is always fun to sit and visit one on one with Erika. She kept me very entertained the entire time :). I just love my Erika. I loved that when I asked her how she felt about her soccer game she said, "That girl was so tall!!" There was a REALLY tall black girls on the opposing team and she was VERY tall! Funny Erika. We had a great time! 9-29-18
LUKE RUSH FUNPLEX
Luke has been feeling like his life is pretty dull. We helped him plan something with Clint to spice things up a bit. Who doesn't need that once in a while. So I took them up to Rush Funplex on Saturday. I'll admit I was regretting my statement that I was "fine with taking him and a friend somewhere and letting them play on their own and picking them up", and was a little nervous dropping them off, but they did great! No problems. And I think they even had some fun. It was nice to have something for Luke to look forward to and enjoy like that. He needed a little break. 9-29-18
