We went up to Nate's mom's for an early Easter dinner- a week early that is- and for the family meeting. I was a little bummed that my rolls didn't really rise, but other than that, we had a good time. I enjoyed talking with Lynn about the Keto stuff he's doing right now and then to Meg as well. Grandma Ruthie had a fun lesson with eggs for the kids to participate with. Molly was hilarious and couldn't open her egg that had been taped shut so she says, "Maybe I could..." puts the egg under her thigh as she's sitting on the floor and then pushes on it and pops the thing open! We were all shocked and it was actually just really funny to witness. She doesn't need us! That's for sure! Funny girl. 4-14-19
These are the Butter Beer Cupcakes I made for Emily's birthday. These were way more work than I bargained for. And they ended up being slightly disappointing in cake consistency. Not sure why. Kinda springy and fell apart easily. You had to eat them with a fork. But the frosting was really good- even to me, and that's not my favorite flavor. Hopefully Emily felt the love. 4-15-19
We invited Pam Hooker over for our Family Night last week. This was a new one for us and required us to branch out a little, but ended up being a REALLY fun experience that everyone loved! I was glad it went so well. Pam was amazing. She was so fun with the kids and so cute to ask them about themselves and really just got into it. She shared a lot of really cool insights into the lesson as well, as we were talking about Jesus overturning the tables of the money changers in the temple. Cool stuff. I wish our rolls had cooked faster and that everything had been a little quicker, but it was a cool evening for all of us. I hope Pam had a good time and felt our love. 4-15-19
FREMONT HIGH FOR CHARITY'S CHOIR FESTIVAL
I made the trek all the way out to Fremont for Charity's festival. They sang three songs which ended up being pretty amazing! I'm really impressed with how good these high schoolers sound! She did great! I loved being there. We are all anxious to find out if she made Madrigals or not! 4-17-19
BRAD'S FIRST TRACK MEET OF THE SEASON
I was so happy with how this track meet went. I mean, it was still chaotic, we still didn't really know what was going on and when he was going to compete, or how long we would wait in between stuff, but it was at Davis High, so we were able to kind of come and go as we pleased. Brad texted us when he was about to go on and we were able to drop everything and run over there. Kinda crazy, but I was glad I finally got to see some stuff! Unlike last year! We got there minutes (I'd say seconds, but it was probably two minutes) before he ran the hurdles! I was happy I got to watch him and got a video of that. He said he was 12th overall. Then we left, came back, and got to watch him compete in the Long Jump. He did great there too! 13 flat! I was pretty proud of him. He did the discus too, and got an awesome PR of 91 feet! But we did not get to be there for that. So hopefully we can see that event next week. We'll see. Way to go Brad! 4-18-19
KELLY'S TEAM DINNER AND PAINTING THE KITCHEN
We were in charge of Kelly's team dinner and used that as our motivation to paint the kitchen. It was probably a little too ambitious of us if I'm being completely honest. Or we should have given ourselves one more day to do it. We worked so hard the ENTIRE DAY! Nate had to stop painting about halfway through to start working on the ribs and cheesecakes, but I somehow found the energy to go and go and go! I was so proud of myself! I could barely walk by the time the day was over, all my hip problems from the last pregnancy felt like they had returned, which was overwhelming to think about and I hoped it was only temporary- thankfully it went away the next day. But anyway. We did get most of it done. We didn't have outlet covers back on, and the tape had pulled off paint along some edges, but it looked really good! I was so proud of us! We still need to pull out the fridge and stove and touch up in places, but really- it makes SUCH A DIFFERENCE!! Makes me happy. Kelly's dinner went really well. The girls were so polite and loved Nate's ribs and cheesecakes. I think they liked my rolls and salad too, but they weren't the exciting part of the meal :). So anyway. Fun day! Exhausting, but fun! 4-18-19
SENIOR NIGHT
Senior Night was awesome! Charity got to sing the National Anthem before Kelly's game. We watched that and watched the game. Charity did great! Kelly did awesome too, but we were really wishing Kelsey had picked an easier team to play. We lost by quite a bit. Not our best game which was a bummer, but whatever. The weather was so good that it felt stupid to bring the hot water for concessions stand and there were a couple girls who pretty much ran it all night, Carrie, Kelly, Noah, Erika, Molly and I sat there just to supervise I guess. Kind of annoying, but whatever. Luke had been tending and took Jack to his baseball practice. Charity and Brad had kind of bailed on me to go do things with friends. It was a very full evening, but overall, pretty fun. I got a new Lacrosse shirt :). 4-19-19

We went and watched Erika dominate on the field, scoring two goals and then preventing five or six of the other team's shots from making it in as goalie. Pretty fun.
After her game, it was time to hunt for Easter baskets! This is always very interesting and I feel like almost turns into a negative thing by the end. Teenagers don't know how to look for baskets. I think the Easter bunny needs to make theirs easier. But they all found theirs and then it was time to hunt for eggs in the yard. This was a lot of fun too. I LOVED watching Jack and Molly enjoying it all! It's so new and exciting for them still :). The older kids are great and really make it more fun for the little guys which I love and can't help but think- "this is why there is another little spirit wanting to come to our home :) It's these big sibs." After the egg hunt we bummed around a little, ate candy and Nate and the boys worked on the gravel that Travis gave us, so that we have a nice little pad for the bikes on the side of the house! That was awesome. Nate had to leave for work after that. We spent a good portion of the evening just relaxing. Some of us that is. Jack, Erika and Noah went on a little bike ride to Fiiz. Big kids played with friends. It was a fun afternoon. Then in the evening, after dinner, we colored our eggs. I felt bad doing it without Charity, but I she said she was fine with it. I was glad we weren't doing it on Sunday. Plus we needed the eggs for Creamed Eggs on toast! So fun day! Or in the words of Molly, "Best. Day. Ever!" She loved it! 4-20-19
