Well, it's already the 22nd and I haven't posted about anything! We have to go off my memory now...
WRESTLING
Noah started the hard core early morning practices for wrestling this month. He pushed himself so good! No tournament til the end of the month. 2-1-21
MUSIC MAKERS
We finally went to music makers after a few months of not going. It is good to be back. We had story time this month. 2-2-21
PERMANENT CROWN
This is the permanent crown to remember. I don't know why, or what, but ever since I got it, I have been getting these excruciating headaches and clenching my jaw at night and biting on the inside of my mouth etc. It's been so weird. I'm not sure if this is just the biggest coincidence of all time or what! But I got a night guard and now I am just hoping and praying it will go away. Kinda nuts. 2-3-21
LUKE'S BIRTHDAY
Luke's birthday felt a little sub par this year- always does when we don't have the party the day of the birthday, but we tried to make it special. Kelly and company (I think it was Erika and Jack and Molly) made his sign- we've been doing one letter per sheet sign this year, hanging between the kitchen and living room. Ever since my birthday. I guess Erika's was like that too, but through the kitchen on the weird soffet or whatever it is. He got to have crepes for breakfast, we checked him out to come home for Panda for lunch, and then calzones for dinner! He got to go to young mens that night as well. They did a chess tournament which turned out way cooler than he had anticipated. We're so proud of Luke. He's such a good kid, such a good example to so many. He seems to be enjoying life lately. Spends a lot of time at Jaxx Thaxton's house and out on his long board with him, so we miss him a lot, but it's good that he has friends. He is doing well in school. He is the President of his Teacher's quorum. He's a lot of fun for his little sister who adores him. He has taught her how to climb up his legs. It's super cute. We gave him a Lagoon pass so that he can go with Jaxx this summer! Should be fun. I just love Luke. So proud of him! 2-3-21
LUKE'S FAMILY PARTY
We had Luke's party at our house on Thursday. We had a good turn out- even the Taylors and Dan and Adele came. I made a new chocolate poke cake. Luke had requested a chocolate, yummy cake. It was super simple, super yummy (I'm told- I still have yet to cheat on Keto since Christmas), and took almost no time at all. He seemed to enjoy the attention from everyone and had a good time. Lots of yummy gifts. 2-4-21
LUKE'S FRIEND PARTY
For Luke's party this year, he chose to go to TopGolf with a few friends. Jaxx, Clint, Josh and Luke seemed to have a really good time. It surprisingly snowed that day, which made golfing a little more difficult, but I think they still had some fun. It was fun to see Luke with his friends, in that setting. We came home and had his "snack cake" (lots of different snacks piled up in the shape of a cake- this one was a lot of fun to make), and then played some board games and watched a movie. It was a lot of fun. 2-5-21
PHYSICALS
Kelly, Bradley and Noah all needed physicals for their sports. If only I'd been able to combine them all in one visit. Lots of trips to the Doc in the last couple months with all the sports and injuries. 2-10-21
LUNCH WITH MY DAD
My dad and I got to go out to lunch finally. This was a nice time. We went to Cheesecake Factory- the usual. Good times. On the way home, I took a little detour and went over to my mom's to talk to Heidi. We were able to work things out. That was nice. 2-11-21
PULLED PORK SANDWICHES
Nate sold Pulled Pork Sandwiches this week. That went pretty well. Not near as many orders as we had expected though. When Andrea saw the picture of it, she had to order some. So I brought hers and Zoe's with me when we went out to dinner that night. El Matador isn't super Keto friendly, but I think I made it work! Fajita insides with guac and sour cream... mmmmmmm 2-12-21
BECKY'S SHED
We got to go to Becky's house to help her organize her shed. I was so proud of the kids and that they were so willing to help out. They did a great job! Looks nice and organized now! 2-13-21
WONDER WOMAN MAYNES GIRLS
We went to see the movie Wonder Woman with the Maynes girls for President's Day! This is always a lot of fun to see everyone. I kind of wish we had more time to talk to each other though. But good times! We brought Heidi and Alyssa with us. Good times. 2-15-21
DAN CAMPBELL
Dan and his wife were in town and made time to hang out with us. They stopped by on Tuesday to hang out and then eat Nate's amazing ribs, and then we all went out on Thursday to the Hatchet Jax place for some ax throwing. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. That was a lot of fun! It's always fun to see Nate so happy. I'm glad he has Dan for a friend. 2-18-21
SPECIAL STAKE CONFERENCE
We had a special Stake Conference to release our Stake Presidency. President Taylor's wife has been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer so he needed to be released from his position. It is so sad to see him go. I have really loved having him as our Stake President. Probably more than any other stake president. He always said everything I needed to hear. I will miss having him in there. I hope his wife is miraculously healed. She bore her testimony and I was so impressed with the things she shared and her strength in bearing her testimony. Such an awesome lady. It sill be interesting to see how it goes with President Larsen. I think he will do a great job. Now we need a new Bishopric! 2-21-21
UNCLE ROB'S DRIVE BY BIRTHDAY
Uncle Rob turned 60 I think, and we were invited to his drive by birthday party. We ended up parking and getting out to talk for quite a while which was nice. We got to visit with all of Nate's cousins. Such a great family! I love the Bushes. It was a great little Sunday drive/visit. 2-21-21
KELLY NEUROLOGIST APPOINTMENT
We were able to get Kelly in to see the Neurologist. This appointment was only a little helpful. We will try the Magnesium, Riboflavin, Melatonin... see how this goes. Kelly wasn't all that impressed with this appointment. She was somewhat disappointed. I hope we can get to the bottom of these headaches. 2-22-21
NOAH'S FIRST MEET ON THE KJH WRESTLING TEAM
We got to go out to Sunset Junior High to watch Noah wrestle, but because we were waiting for a babysitter to get home, we missed his first match- the one where he pinned the guy. Such a bummer. We were there for his second one and he did a great job, but he did get pinned. Kind of a bummer. We're excited for this season of wrestling. We'll see how it goes! 2-23-21
KELLY EYE DOCTOR
We have been trying to rule out several things with Kelly's headaches, she had her teeth cleaned and x-rayed to make sure there weren't new teeth coming in causing the headaches a week before, then this week she had her eye exam to rule out any bulging in the back of her eyes. Everything turned out to be completely normal which is good, but also not because we still don't know where the headaches are coming from. 2-24-21
KJH PTA DINNER
Nate was asked to cater the KJH Teacher dinner this week. He made Pulled Pork Sandwiches and coleslaw with beans. He did a great job. I went with him to get the stuff and all the ol' PTA ladies were there to chat with. They all scarfed up the leftovers which I thought was interesting, so we weren't able to use that for dinner, but it was fun to see them, and nice of Nate to do that for them. We got pizza for dinner afterwards. 2-24-21
