fastest year of my life!
Oh... I can't believe it's been a whole year!!! My sweet little princess is growing up WAY too fast for me. It scares me, but at the same time, it's still really fun and exciting (how does that work?). She has such a strong personality. It's fun to watch it come out in so many different situations. She likes to walk now, which is really fun for all of us! She prefers it, and prefers not to be helped in any way! She will even walk close to things like the coffee table and fireplace hearth without touching them! I think that's cool. She holds her hands up in the air and then flips her little feet as they come out in front with each step. And she has the sweetest look on her face in the meantime :) Sheer pride!!! I'm so proud of her! I think it's safe to say that she is the first kid of our six to walk on a regular basis before turning one! No offense to any of the other kids, but this is just really phenomenal to me. I figured she would walk later than the last one since the rest of them followed this pattern. I think Charity was pretty close to this soon, but I think Erika beat her by just a hair. (not hair on her head though.... she still has very little on the top of her head :) ) She still doesn't really love to eat unless it's something she's found on the ground all by herself. This is proof of her independence and self-sufficiency. She really is. She has her moments though, and still LOVES to be in Mommy's arms especially if I'm walking around. She likes it when Daddy rocks her to sleep at night. And she's a total sucker for "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". She can't keep her eyes open when she hears us sing it. It's been really handy on those nights when she wakes up as I lay her in her bed. She really just loves to have someone right there with her. It's cute. She is starting to sleep a little more at night and has slept through the night a few times especially lately. She goes to bed pretty late though, so I don't know if it's a whole night's sleep yet. She likes books, dogs (especially the panting sound we all make when we see one), stuffed animals, baby dolls (basically anything she can stick in the crook of her arm and cuddle), candy (darn halloween), mashed potatoes, lasagna, drinks from her sippy cup, being outside- she LOVES the park and going on the playground by herself, crawling up the stairs the minute the gate is opened, her family- especially smacking Luke in the face and pulling on his ears while he laughs, and new things. She really is such a fun little girl. I love how happy she is since she started walking. A lot less tears. She's just needed the independence I think. I love her scrunched up nose smile. I love her chubby little hands and how they rub her big brown eyes right before she's about to eat. And I love that she's mine.
