"You are not here to live a mediocre to average life; you are here to live an amazing life, a miraculous life. If it weren't for your challenges, there would be no miracles. You must do that which seems impossible, for it is only in the impossible that miracles are had." - author unknown, but very respected

Some more edits

Photobucket
Okay, so I just sat here with Sarah, opened a photobucket account and learned how to upload pictures from there.  I'm hoping this will solve my picasa overload problem.  It's kind of a relief to know that I won't have to open a million more google accounts just to fit all my huge picture files.  At the same time, I felt so embarrassed to have Sarah look at my pictures :)  I don't know why.  Well.... wait.... I do know why!  It's because she and Brent do such amazing photography.  I feel like a dork when I compare mine to theirs.  And I know I shouldn't.... they have WAY more experience, WAY better equipment, and WAY better artistic abilities, but it's just so hard to not.  I just like taking pictures.  I like playing with Lightroom even though I'm still learning.  I knw it's not a big deal, and I do love how some of mine turn out.  I just have to squint when I look at Brent and Sarah's so I don't get jealous maybe :) HA! jk.  SO anyway. Here are my amateur edits.  There's a lot of reruns, I couldn't decide what look I liked best in some of them.  I'm thinking I need to do more with bright colors.... can't decide.....

I do have to thank my sweet husband for the little boost of confidence he gave me the other night on this one.  He's so sweet.  He said he really liked this one.  I think it's cute too.  And how appropriate that she's holding a basketball right :)  Sounds like a good Father's day present from Erika!

Kite Flying With the Bishop

Saturday was the big Kite Flying With The Bishop day.  It was a really fun Primary activity!!  Since 90% of our family is in the Primary, we decided to all go.  Luke had his big Red Baron kite that he got for his birthday from Grandpa Hatch, which ended up being such a big hit, it earned a spot in the Bishop's remarks on Sunday.  But it did take a while to get it up. We had hurried over to Walmart just before to get the rest of the kids their own kites.  Brad got the Blue Angels one.  Kelly splurged and got the cute Penguin one.  Charity already had a Barbie one from a few years ago, but she was so embarrassed by it that she didn't even hardly use it.  In fact, I had to practice the Organ for the first 45 minutes of the activity and when I came out, her kite was already in the car.  She's funny.  Noah got the Cars Kite.  I thought they were all very good at getting their kites up in the air.  The wind was so sporatic that they really didn't stay UP in the air for long.  After an hour or so, Luke was done and whining to go home (probably to play the wii- which is why I threatened him with "if you can't have fun outside, then you will not be allowed to have fun inside on the wii- he put on a smile and faked it.  That's all I wanted).  Noah was pretty good, he didn't want any help.  He would squeal at me when I would hold the kite up for him.  I think the Bishop thought I was neglecting him until he realized that Noah was alone by choice.  Charity ran around most of the time, just watching everyone's kites until the dog showed up.  Then it was "Addie this" and "Addie that".  She had Erika pretty enthralled in the dog as well.  Which was really nice since Nate and I were trying so hard to get those kites to stay up!  They would throw the frisbee for her.  Kelly did a lot with the dog too, and flying her kite, and helping wth Erika.  She had a lot of fun I think. Brad was a pro by the end of the 3 hours.  If only he hadn't let me take the reigns.  One big gust of wind and the plastic little blue handle just yanked right out of my hand and the kite was off!  Headed right for the power lines and right into a tree.  It was a sad moment, but luckily we had been getting read to leave.  He was still sad though.  I felt bad.  Kelly actually felt so bad for him that she had Daddy take her to the store to get him a new one.... with her own money!  I was impressed.  They're such good kids.  I think we all had a good time.

oh nice.  Her shirt says, "Sassy"!  Not anything else.

Kelly's baby.

Nate fixed the Red Baron so that thestring was not pulling down on the second wing and making it dive.  Pretty cool that we figured that out right?!

I editted this one really cool-ly.... I'll post that later.

This one would have been better if I would have had my othe lens I think.

(erika's watching me do this and she just started barking and reaching up to the monitor.... she loves this dog, it's adorable!)

Willy Wonka Kids

For the past 2 months Charity and Kelly have been working their little patooties off going to play practices and rehearsals for their school musical.  It's been a lot of fun for them.  Friday the 11th was their first performance, for the school, I was there helping with the sound crew, so I got to watch.  Then last week they had four performances!  I got to go to every showing but I brought different people with me everytime.  Tuesday was with Nate a the littles.  We celebrated at Firehouse Pizza with some F'zookies!  It was a very peaceful time out.  I'm not sure what it was, but I felt so happy there.  Must be the chocolate!  jk. Wednesday my Dad and I went.  And Grandpa took us all out to Baskin Robbins afterward.  Poor Grandpa dropped his icecream on the floor right after he got it.  Then Thursday Brent and Sarah and their boys came and Friday we got to have Grandma and Simon at the play and then over for ice cream afterward. The girls loved having the constant support.

The second and third graders were Oompa Loompas.  So they were right next to each other nearly the whole play.  I wish I had gotten some better pictures of them, but there was a "no flash photography" rule, so they aren't the best.  I did get some really great video though, since they came down the aisle and stopped right by us through some of the songs.  It was so fun for me to watch my big girls perform.  I loved it everytime I saw it!!  They did so good and worked so hard.  I hope they always want to participate in these kinds of things because I never really did and I wish I had.  They were sad when it was over.

Brent liked this one.... I'm not sure why, but he's professional, so it must be cool.
