- Thursday (12-9-10) was Charity's big Sweden Traditions Report. We worked really hard on a cool little presentation. I probably shouldn't even say "we", Charity really did most of it herself. I helped put a little reinforcements on the paper so that it didn't tear easily, but that was just general help, she worked SO hard. I did have to keep snapping her back into focus about every 10 minutes.... the girl is SO easily distracted. I sometimes wonder if that comes from us trying to distract her from doing naughty things when she was little.... probably not, but we gotta work on it either way. She's fun. Her teacher emailed me to tell me that she did a great job on her report. Love to hear that.
- Friday, Nate got to go to Bradley's class and talk about our family's Christmas traditions. He talked about how we like to set up our tree the first FHE of the month. He showed Bradley's "First Christmas" ornament and his Alaskan Husky ornament. Then he told them how we like to get out our Holiday Specs when we're done and check out the lights with them. And he brought the glasses and a string of lights for the class to try them out. I wish I could have been there, but it sounded like fun. Nate's really good at that stuff.... I'm terrible so I always nominate him :)
- Friday was also my date with Brad. We went to Despicable Me at the dollar theater. It was a cute movie. I loved hanging out with Brad. We got popcorn and a drink with our coupons. I can't help but cringe when I pay more for the popcorn than I do to see the movie.... oh well. I like that Brad will still hold my hand. He has really big hands for a 6 year old.... it's cute. We went and got our movie candy AFTER the movie since we didn't have time to get it before and it was such a crucial element to our date :) And then we grabbed some dinner on the way home. It was a fun night. He seemed to like it too :)
- Noah came home from an errand with Nate and came running downstairs to tell me that he was home. I acted really excited and told him how much I had missed him and he looked at me very seriously and asked, "Did you cry?" I tried not to laugh and said, "I did, but just a little." And he just blew it off and didn't say anything else. What a funny little guy.
- Noah's been way into praying lately. He always wants to say the prayer. He reminds me about it, says it, and then says another one :) It makes me laugh. We seriously have at least 2 blessings on every meal. Especially if anyone else wants a turn. It's something that I just can't justify saying no to. I'm happy that he enjoys it so much :) His prayer goes like this: "Hevwy Fada, pweese bwess we be happy, namejescwy AMEN!!!!" (he yells the Amen part) Nate and I have both given him several pointers each time, but he continues to say this prayer. Makes me smile. I like that he is interested in praying. Hopefully we'll be able to get more out of him soon :)
- And speaking of prayers, Bradley has been saying some VERY sweet prayers. Recently his Primary teacher told him that you are "supposed to say things you are thankful for when you pray". (this is NOT the first time he has heard this.... just for the record. Although it seems to be the first time it has stuck with him :) ). So his prayers are 99% thankfulnesses. I love it. It's sweet to hear him thank our Heavenly Father for things. I think Luke has even jumped on this bandwagon because the other night he thanked Heavenly Father for the Moon and the Stars. awwwwwwwww. It's fun to watch people grow Spiritually.
- Tonight, 12-11-10, was Aunt Jen's Cookie Party. This is one of my favorite traditions :). Aunt Jen has all the kids (and it's really a lot now!) over to decorate cookies, play games, watch movies, eat pizza.... it's just a LOT of fun! And somehow she manages to stay sane through it all. Favorite part: Noah- Pwayin wif Jewum buddy (playing with Jarom Buddy). Luke- EVWEYTHING! (everything) and then he added that he liked the candybar game. Brad- The candybar game and the making cookies. Kelly- playing with Noah and making cookies and the candybar game. Charity- candybar game, making cookies, playing with Sydney, Kelly, Sierra and Enoch. I think Erika had a good time shopping and eating out with Mom and Dad (the rule changed from walking to a little bit older than that :) ). It's fun for us to hang out with her alone every once in a while too.... doesn't happen all that often. We had a very productive shopping night, and a really good time together. Felt like it had been a while since we went on a date...... we'll have to fix that :)
