Things to Remember Week of 12-28-14

A NEW WATER HEATER!
So it was a quick three days without hot water.  I really didn't feel like it was that much of an imposition.  Maybe it's because no shower was necessary since we were just sitting around all day.  I was, however, EXTREMELY grateful that I'd taken a shower on Christmas like I did.  That was a blessing.  I would have been pretty stinky by Sunday :).  HA!  No, I probably would have bummed a shower off of someone else if I'd had to go that long!  We were very grateful for the hot water though, once it was back on the kids all jumped up fighting over who got to go first :).  That was like Christmas all over again :).  12-28-14

NO CHURCH AGAIN
I hope people don't start thinking I've gone inactive.  Although, I do feel myself becoming more and more comfortable with staying home than I ever have.  We decided, and with some strong suggestion from the Bishop, that we would stay home from church.  Even though we thought we were all better.  He must have been inspired because the bug is not gone!  I started a new thing with the kids, for us to do on Sunday nights (now that Nate works- I've gotta plan things to keep my sanity :).  We're starting our own personal histories.  One page at a time.  We are just drawing one strip of paper- ideas of what to write about- from this little jar that I have, to tell about ourselves and our lives.  So far it's been a lot of fun!  We wrote about our Dads the first week and this week our favorite season and why.  Should be a fun little way to break up the monotony this year.  12-28-14

DISHES
I just had to document that I finally did all the dishes that were piling up all over our kitchen!  There were lots BEFORE the hot water went out, and then there was no washing the big stuff, so it sat.  But yesterday, I tackled them ALL!!  Took me all day, with all the other stuff on my agenda, to get them done, but I did!  I wish I'd gotten a before and after picture- although my pride would stop me from posting them anyway.  It's just cool to have my sink and counters back :).  And to have dishes to eat on and cook in.  It's like Christmas :) HA!  12-29-14

SNOW!!
I don't think I even mentioned the snow we had dumped on us this Christmas morning!!  It was a beautiful WHITE Christmas afterall!  Well, it really hasn't stopped much!  The kids took advantage of it the day after Christmas went sledding at the park down the street and built some forts and snowmen in the back yard.  Then yesterday the kids all went out to shovel driveways!  They are so thoughtful.  They really wanted to help the neighbors with their driveways.  So cute.  12-29-14

SICK AGAIN
Bradley is puking again.  UGH.  This is round two for him.  Not sure what is going on in this house!!  I have been cleaning and "Santa"-tizing, (THANKS KIM :) ) like a crazy person (takes one to know one) so you would think we could be done with it all!  I pride myself on germ control with such a big family- this has really humbled me!!  12-29-14

NOT LATE YET
SO... I probably shouldn't even say anything about this, because I"m not even close to late yet, but I keep wondering if I will be!!!  I've had some interesting pain, could just be this dumb flu bug, but hopefully it's not!!  We'll see.  Pretend I didn't say anything :), just getting my hopes up is all :).

NO TRUCKS
Tuesday morning I woke up to a text from Lisa saying that our produce truck was not going to make it because of the wind, no trucks allowed on the freeway.  I was kind of glad because Brad had been up all night sick, so I figured it was a good thing, but keeping the produce in the truck overnight sure didn't make passing it out on Wednesday very fun.  Most of it was frozen and ruined.  So annoying.  The lettuce, basil and tomatoes were horrible.  Luckily the clementines were perfect.  I am mostly worried that people will drop out because of it.  The one consolation though- when I called to tell them things were bad, they were very apologetic and said to keep track of everything we are not able to use and they will credit us back.  So that's encouraging.  It's just such a new group.  Anyway- bad things always happen on my week.  12-30-14
