Well, I think I was still recovering from Superactivity on Sunday. I was exhausted! I made it through church- all the girls were finally there to get our new Presidency set apart. After dinner we made it up to Nate's parents' house for the family meeting. I really liked the family meeting this time. It felt really laid back. Jared gave a nice lesson on the Sacrament. The kids had a really good time even though most of the cousins their ages were not even there, so that was a bonus. I loved my little chat with Nate's mom, at their garage as we were leaving. She loves her family, there's no doubt about it. She was so sweet to me and said a lot of nice things to me. It sounded to me like they think they're not going to be around for a while. I hope that's not the case. She asked me what we were naming the baby and I caved. Told her. She's my mother-in-law, what was I supposed to do :). Haha. She likes the first name, but had a better idea for the middle :). She's so cute and sweet though. I love her. 8-9-15
36 WEEKS
I hit a brick wall this week. Things have reached a new low as far as how I'm feeling. I hate to admit it, but I am in so much pain right now. My stupid pelvic bone feels like it's going to come apart. It's so bad. I had worried so much about my hips being a problem like they were for Jack's pregnancy, that I hadn't even considered something worse. This is awful. I just hope it goes away once she gets here! BUT that being said- I am NOT ready to have this baby yet. I want her to finish baking and be all ready herself. Everyone and their dog wants me to go into labor early for some reason and want to explore that option with me. Not sure why. We need to start school and have Jack's birthday and do all the August stuff before she can make her appearance. She needs her own month :). I can't wait to meet her! 8-10-15
FHE FOUR SQUARE
We made some progress this week! We played four square for our activity after my lesson on the Atonement and I don't know if we've ever had such a good time! Nobody was fighting or arguing about rules and getting mad when they got out! This is a first! We had to quit so that we could go to Dairy Queen for blizzards rather than quitting because we'd struck out. Cool stuff. 8-10-15
A PRINGLE?
So on the Superactivity, the first day, Kelly bit into a Pringle and one of her molars broke into four pieces! From a PRINGLE!?! She toughed out the whole weekend with it, living on Ibuprofen and prayers really, and by Monday she'd had enough. I was going to take her to the dentist, but it was late at night, we started thinking maybe it was actually ready to come out... got brave... and Nate just ended up pulling it with some pliers! This was a painful pull, took a lot, I could tell because she was squeezing my hand. Plus, Kelly's not one to cry for an hour after unless it does hurt. She was pretty brave! Nate was awesome too :). Came out in just the two pieces that were left, and as soon as the bleeding stopped, we could see the brand new molar that was making it's way into her mouth! That explains why it only took a Pringle, we thought. It had just wedged itself. All was well. Pain was gone... happy day! 8-10-15
ALREADY!!
On Tuesday, after produce, Erika's tooth was on her last nerve! I wasn't sure if it was ready, but I thought I'd give it a try. Sure enough, it came right out! No trouble at all. She didn't even know it was out until I showed her the tooth in my fingers :). Big smile though when she saw it! I can't believe she lost it BEFORE Kindergarten! She's growing up way too fast! As always. She looks adorable with her new space, and looks like it won't be long before the one adjacent comes out too! Big girl! 8-11-15
SCHOOL SHOPPING
I took all the kids school shopping on Tuesday! We got 95% of the stuff on our lists! It was a very productive trip to the store. I always take advantage of the deals and stock up on all the school supplies we will need throughout the year. I can't believe how much some of that stuff costs when it's not August. So we're all set, minus a few outifts and back packs for the big girls. 8-11-15
CARTER
Luke finally got to play with Carter- he's been dying to hook up with them all summer so this was much anticipated. Unfortunately it was less than enjoyable for him. I let him stay for 4 hours and apparently that was too long. I felt bad. 8-12-15
SCOUTS
Bradley started back up with Scouts this week! Pretty exciting. New leaders. It's been a long time, but I think he was happy to back in it! 8-12-15
INDEXING
We had our indexing mutual night as part of the worldwide indexing thing. I was asked to teach those who have not yet received instruction in a separate room from everyone else. I was a little nervous about it and not really sure where to start because there are so many different scenarios. But I think it went pretty well. I was glad that people were able to index once we were done. 8-12-15
PANTRY/FRIDGE
I did the unthinkable today and cleaned something! Holy moly! The stench coming from our pantry/fridge area (still not sure what it was in the pantry, so it might have just been residual from the fridge, but either way, they both needed a good deep cleaning regardless. I did such a nice job if I do say so myself :). They look like new! I only wish I'd remembered to do the freezer before I sat down and got comfy. Maybe tomorrow. It surprises me how much the scrubbing motion does with my abs/contractions. It was like one constant contraction the whole time I was cleaning. This is the problem and why I am never motivated to clean. Always scares me and makes me worry about what I'm doing to my baby. Hopefully she didn't mind. I was happy to have it done and so well! 8-13-15
DAVIS COUNTY FAIR
We have never been to the county fair before, but when I heard about it a couple weeks ago, I knew we would have to go :). (it's all part of my need to make this summer a fun/busy summer so that I don't feel like I deprived my children of a fun summer all because I feel like crap-- silly, I know, but it's working :) ) We finally had a free minute on Thursday afternoon and everyone was starting to feel alright, naps were over :) (hahahaha.... that's all I can say), we headed on over to the Davis County Fair. I was so glad that the admission was free, but then they made us pay to park... kind of lame, but whatever. It was SUCH a hot day! I couldn't believe it! It was a constant reminder that I have been VERY blessed this summer to have so many cooler days. I really don't think I would have survived this summer at these hotter temps. Such a blessing. We saw all the cute animals- the baby pigs were a favorite. Same with the giant cow thing (forgot what it's called) with all the chins- it seriously had more chins than a Chinese phone book! HA! We got there right as the pony rides were stopping to take a break, so we needed to kill about an hour before we could enjoy our FREE phony rides. You cannot pass up free pony rides. We walked through some of the air conditioned buildings looking at people's artistic talents. I love hearing my kids' comments, "I could make that!" "I want to enter my ______ next year, I could totally get first place!" "Mom, YOU could make THAT!" They really appreciate everyone's abilities ;) jk. We walked through the infomercial building- my kids LOVE this stuff. The free spinners for candy and pens and such... it's hilarious how easily amused they are. We walked around the outside booths, got a couple of cute hair things for my baby girls. Nate got some bear claws for pulling his pork. Then we headed back over to the ponies. This was my favorite part. I LOVED watching Jack Jack! I can't believe he did it! I thought he would refuse. He loved it though! I saw him telling Nate to "Tatch me" if he fell off, and then when he got off, his big announcement was "Me not fall!" He was so brave to get up there even though he was worried about falling! What a cute little guy. Erika loved it as well. I didn't get any overwhelming vibes from Noah, Luke, or Kelly about this activity, but I think they were trying to play it cool :). They had fun. We walked through a couple more exhibits, decided these rides and games weren't worth the money, grabbed a couple funnel cakes, and headed home. It wasn't the experience I was planning to have, considering I thought this was going to be a more inexpensive form of entertainment, but nobody was complaining, I think they had a good time. We had to get Kelly home to tend for the Caldwells anyway. We got her home and then ran our crazy errands to Costco for hotdogs and a few groceries, then Home Depot for the PAINT!!! YAY!! We're finally moving forward in operation bedrooms. I hope the gray we got isn't too light. It was a very productive evening. I enjoyed it, but since I'd already kind of overdone it for the day, was VERY ready to get home and be done. 18 more days. 8-13-15
SLIP-N-SLIDE
We went over to the Maughan's for some water fun. Well, who am I kidding, I went so that Emily and I could finally visit again! It's been too long! It was anice time. The kids all loved it. I don't think Jack ever actually tried the Slip-n-slide, but he loved climbing on their rocks and throwing pebbles down to the water :). Funny boy. 8-14-15
SCOUTS
Luke started back up with Scouts this week as well. He got to go on a fun hike and then S'mores after. I think he's missed Scouts! Glad to be up and running again. 8-14-15
GRAY
WE finally painted the room for the little boys!!! It looks so amazing! I totally love it!! I was amazed it only took two coats to cover up the ugly tree. We decided on a light gray (my choice) with red and black accents (Noah's choice). I LOVE how it turned out. This is our first time painting a room in our house, so check! Feels good to have it mostly done (I still need to do the trim, but we're so close :) ). I can't wait to do the rest of the rooms. 8-15-15
