Father's Day Pictures Finally

"I'm so glad when Daddy comes home!
Glad as I can be!
Clap my hands and JUMP for joy,
then climb upon his kneee.....

Put my arms around his neck,
hug him tight like this!
Pat his cheeks and give him WHAT?

A GREAT. BIG. KISS!!!!!"

They look so funny, all covered with pillows while they're trying to capture the moment on their phones.  Then getting pelted.... who thought of this tradition anyway??  Was it meant to be painful?? hmmmmm.....

Curly

On Father's Day, Erika let me curl her hair for the first time ever :)  I had to hurry, she was so good, I wasn't sure how long she'd last :), but I thought it turned out pretty cute!

And then she was being so cute, we had to take a bunch of pictures of her :)  She is such a sweetie sometimes!

Journaling

- We went to Park day this week.  Nate worked the mid Sunday night, so he needed to sleep Monday morning.... that left us with either trying to keep quiet at home, or going out.  So out we went.  I don't know what's wrong with me, but I am not up for park day right now, I don't think.  I found myself just really hating it.  I think the kids had fun, sort of.... except the parts when they all fought over who could sit by me.... so I think it's probably worth going, but man, I don't know what's happened to me socially.  It felt like everything made my adrenaline rush and I couldn't get any words out the way I wanted.  It's not like I feel all that comfortable there to begin with, but with my new mood swings, and sensitivity.... it just wasn't pretty.  I should probably keep these thoughts to myself, but whatever.  We'll see if we go again anytime soon.  We ended up with the 3 Peterson kids as well, so we decided to make our way to Free Lunch at Washington Elementary.  The kids hated the food.  That was a bummer.  But I didn't have to make lunch, and I got to see an old friend I worked with at the Red Cross.  As embarrassing as it is that she didn't really remember me right away (if at all), I still loved seeing her.  She was one of my favorite people to work with back then.  The rest of the day kind of dragged, and I let my bad mood get the most of me I'm afraid.  6-18-12

- So with Nate's back pain worsening all weekend, we finally decided to take him to the ER to make sure it wasn't something too serious.  It was a long 2 hours, but we found out he had strained some muscles.  They sent him home with some drugs and hopefully they will alleviate some of the tension and pain.  We're hoping this is the quick fix, but not 100% sure.  Joel Winters says to go see a specialist to help strengthen the muscles that will prevent this from happening again, so maybe we'll have to take his advice.  I've never seen Nate in so much pain.  I've never seen him go through something like this, and it's not fun.  I always stress about things when he is under the weather.  I always imagine the worst I guess.  Makes me scared for what's ahead.  I really shouldn't do that.  Hopefully things will feel better real soon and we'll be able to get on with life.  Until then, he has a very lazy, pregnant, sore, tired, forgetful "nurse" to bring him back to health..... this should be fun :)  6-24-12

- Our house is SO HOT!!!!  I don't know what it is, because I don't remember it being like this last summer at all.  But our two little window coolers are not doing what they did last year.  I have had 2 REEEEEEALLY long nights filled with sweating profusely and discomfort.  It's bad.  The kids were even feeling it, so I don't think it is just pregnancy.  I'm working on solutions, and cleaning out filters and stuff... hopefully something will help!  It's RIDICULOUS!!  Something has to change is all.  6-25-12

So I had my appointment last Tuesday.  It was the Glucose testing one as well, and I was pleasantly surprised at how little effect the yucky drink had on me this time.  I wonder if it has anything to do with how little sugar I've had recently.  (I am doing okay with my no sweets, no candy thing... I slip up, but I feel good knowing I'm eating a LOT less of them than I normally would, and hopefully it's helping with something.... doing me SOME good.)  And so far I haven't heard back on that test, so I'm no longer worried about gestational diabetes.  Don't ask me why I was to begin with.  It's never been a problem.  I'm so weird.  It was a good visit, we got to hear the baby's heartbeat loud and strong (it sounded unusually well this time for some reason.... maybe the doc had the volume turned up or something :) ). Erika got to hear it.  (we decided this was her date with Mom and Dad for the month ;) )  I asked Dr. Thackeray about the peeing problem.  He said it could be any number of things, most were not anything to worry about.  So I'm not going to worry about it.  And frankly I don't feel like I've had as much trouble with it since then.  Go figure.  The last few problems I've had, I've cleared them up just by telling the doc about them.  How nice is that.  Yeah, even the contractions that were plaguing my life... virtually gone.  Strange.  Strange, but good!  So, things look good.  I'm measuring a half a week ahead, which is a little unusual for me, and Dr. Thackeray asked how big my biggest baby was.  Made me wonder if he'd be as interested in taking him at 38 weeks instead of 39 weeks like I've been hoping we could do.  This is what I always do.  I think I'm going to go strong, the whole 39 and then come about 30, when life feels like it is never going to end, I start to get weak and want to go early.  We'll see how it goes.  Maybe that would be better anyway, if this little guy is going to be a bigger little guy :).  Who knows. This is something I like to pray about.  I feel strange enough picking birthdays.  I am however set on NOT having him the same day as any one else in the family.  So that will be helpful in choosing.
We may have settled on his first name.  I don't like to announce the name until the baby is here and it's FOR SURE, because we've had a few false alarms in the past and it's always awkward to change our minds, so this is for your own good ;).  This one feels right.  I have had it in mind since Erika was a ??, and Nate likes it too, so hopefully he will :).  We are still, however, looking for a middle name.  That's always tough too for some reason.  We're looking at some family names.  Hopefully that will give us some ideas.  It's gotta be special that's for sure!
We're going on 32 weeks now and THAT is a wonderful thing!!  I think we'll make it to the end!

My latest symptom that I want to complain about (after my horrible night last night), is that I have difficulty urinating now.  I feel like I need to pee, like I'm going to have an accident at times, and I sit down to go, and I can't.  Can't even squeeze out a little drop!  It's RIDICULOUS!!!!  It keeps me up at night now.  And I guess it's not a constant problem, it comes and goes, but so far, I HATE IT!  My bowels are all screwed up to.  All I can guess is that the baby is kinking something off or positioned funny.  Sure is annoying though.  I am looking forward to asking my doctor about it on Tuesday when I go in.  Hopefully he just tells me it's normal and I can stop worrying about it.  Last night was the worst of it so far.  My feet were swelling up really bad (which is of course a new one for me, haven't had that symptom since Charity and it was only for a day or two), in fact, my legs and hands and arms ALL felt swollen.  I was sweating really bad and couldn't find a comfortable position.  I got this crazy idea to lay on the bean bag, upsidedown in hopes of moving Wormie off of my bladder and other specific organs.  That was actually okay for a little while until I started to get dizzy.  I can't breathe when I lay on my back for too long, so it was only temporary.  Erika kept me company of course, and that was fine until she wanted to lay right next to me on the couch.  I was just feeling SO AGGITATED!  And then it turned into nausea once Wormie woke up and got really active.  It was horrible.  I really don't remember the last time I felt so sick and tired, and just frustrated! all at the same time.  It was bad.  I really just hope everything is okay and these aren't symptoms of bigger problems as I know they can be, but have never experienced.  My pregnancies are generally fairly uneventful as far as complications go.  And for that I am indeed grateful.  I stayed up with Erika til about 3:00 then left her to her horsie show.  To which she DIDN'T fall asleep and asked me to turn back on when it was over around 4:00.  She is SUCH a night owl sometimes!  It's crazy!  She's worse than me and Charity. I was glad to get to sleep in a little though, and then Nate and I kinda sat around most of the day, which really helped to make up for the long night.  That's always a relief.
I'm really not loving being pregnant.  I want my Wormie to get here soon.  I'm already planning how to ask Dr. Thackeray if we can go a little earlier..... I'm thinking the 15th of August.  Maybe he'll have mercy on me and give in :)  Who knows :).
