"You are not here to live a mediocre to average life; you are here to live an amazing life, a miraculous life. If it weren't for your challenges, there would be no miracles. You must do that which seems impossible, for it is only in the impossible that miracles are had." - author unknown, but very respected

An eager student

Photobucket
For the last couple (well, more than that, unfortunately) of years, Charity has wanted to take piano lessons.  She's had a few here and there starting with me and then from my Mom a couple of years ago, and we've just never stuck with anything.  Much to Charity's dismay.  I hate to say that I'm too cheap to pay someone else to teach my kid piano lessons even though I know that the Mom/Piano Teacher thing doesn't always work out real well, but I am.  I can't do it!  I'd rather pay for something I CAN'T teach her!!  Same problem I had with swimming lessons.... but anyway.  It makes me crazy to think that we've wasted these years where she has been so anxious to learn.  SO! Enough feeling bad, we decided to buckle down.  We picked a day and time that we are going to have piano lessons no matter what!!  I'm trying to treat it as if she were going to someone else for lessons.... she has to have her jobs and homework done before she goes, but just like Kelly with her Dance, if it's not COMPLETELY DONE, it's okay to leave it until you get back.  So hopefully this will last for a while.  We've had 2 lessons so far and she is still happy and loving it.  She practices as much as she can.  I feel compelled to move her along quickly so that she doesn't get bored, but I know it's important to grasp the concepts.... so I'm trying!!  It's funny to be reminded of how much I don't know about the piano anymore :)  Go figure.  Anyway- she's doing great and hopefully we can start with the other kids soon!  One step at a time :)
