Future Memories

- This morning (7-16-10) Charity was counting down the minutes till Charlie was supposed to come. He didn't come right "on schedule" for her, so she had to run outside and wait for him. Once he got here, she started counting down the hours till time for the Pure Luck party. She cracks me up. She's worse than me with her need to be doing something else.

- At Heidi's Pool on Friday night (7-17-10), Erika was being SO CUTE!! She totally loved it! I don't know if she's been that enthusiastic in a pool till then. She was squawking and squealing. She kept trying to splash and dip her tongue in the water. Maybe she was just thirsty :) But at one point she kept looking around at things and her head would turn really quickly to something else, and I would go to see what she was looking at and she would quickly turn and look at something else. Totally faking me out! It was adorable. She's just such a fun kid when we're out and about. She loves new things. And I do have to record that she sat! on the grass! all by herself! for a good FIVE MINUTES! while we were eating. I was totally impressed, and had to make sure it was on the record. Those moments are very few and far between.

- Playing the wii, Lukey said, "I'm so good at this game, how did I lose?!" Love his confidence. Makes me chuckle.

- The other night as Nate and I were up watching tv with Noah and Erika (as we do so often) and there was some coughing coming from the kids' room. Noah, all authoritatively, sticks his head out into the hallway and calls down to them, "Cover your mouth!" Just a friendly little reminder from Mr. Noah. He's hilarious.

- On Monday (7-19-10), Noah kept coming over to me and putting his chubby little hand on my shoulder and saying, "Mom? you wan cwacko? I get you cwacko?" Totally offering to get me some crackers! He is his father's son, that's for sure, always thinking about me and wanting to know what he can do for me. I love it!

- That same day was my big laundry day, Charity's job was also to fold a basket of laundry, and much to her dismay, when she began whining and complaining about the job, I simply added more clothes to the basket, making it about a basket and a half once she was finally done complaining (I hope she doesn't mind my telling this, it does end well). So anyway, she spent the ENTIRE rest of the day (this was around noon, she finished around 5 or 6:00) folding those clothes. She was a little slow at times and somewhat distracted by whatever else was going on in the room, so I think she could have had it done sooner, but what I wanted to point out was her stamina!!!! SHE DID IT! And if it had been me, I would have then whined and complained about how my day was gone, but she didn't. She really has amazing stamina with everything. In fact lately in her swim class, she is now in level 5, and basically just has to swim laps across the whole width of the pool, perfecting her strokes. And each day she has been not overly excited about it because she's "tire" or "not feeling good" or just "doesn't want to", but EACH time, she has gone, and been smiling within the first few minutes, and then pulls herself through the whole thing. Good endurance. And she is looking like a real swimmer too.... makes me smile to see her doing so well. They all are for that matter, but Charity especially has improved quickly, and just seems to keep improving. I hope they do the diving board today because I'm really anxious to see her do that and not just in pictures :)

- ALSO that day (wow, lots to remember about Monday), while Nate was at work, he was thinking that it was his turn to do the FHE lesson. So he started thinking about it and praying about what would be a good topic and lesson for our family that day. He got the idea that we needed to start back up on our Service bucket and wanted to do a lesson on service involving charades, acting out different services. But then he found out that it was actually Kelly's turn to do the lesson and didn't really say much. Well, unknown to Nate, Kelly spent the day getting her lesson ready. Crazy enough, the Spirit had prompted sweet little Kelly to do the same lesson that Nate had been prompted to do!!! Is that not the weirdest/coolest thing ever!! She cut out little strips of paper, wrote down things that we can do do serve each other, then had us act them out and guess what we were acting out. Such a cute idea, but even cuter that my little seven year old had been in tune THAT much to the Spirit to do the lesson that was perfect for our family. I loved that Nate explained all of this to us before the lesson after learning what Kelly was going to do. It made it that much more meaningful to me. Kids are so amazing. Their sweet little spirits are just so perfect. I love that I get to be such a close part of their lives and witness it all. And I can't help but love that my husband is so in tune to the Spirit as well. He really is more than I could have ever asked for Spiritually. I feel so blessed.

- For our FHE treat, which was Noah's turn, he helped (and actually did MOST of the work because he's so persuasive) make Root Beer Cupcakes. I was a little nervous to try the recipe, just because it sounded too good to be true (I love Root Beer in case you were wondering), but they were REALLY good!!! With the Root Beer frosting too..... DEEEEEWISHUS!!!
