- Brad has had almost this whole week off due to the Kindergarten testing at school. It's been raining all week. Kind of a downer, but we've tried to make the most of it :). On Tuesday, we were invited to a little luncheon with some friends in the ward who also had kindergarteners home for the day. The boys had a blast! I enjoyed being able to sit and chat with the moms, made some new friends, and Erika just sat with me the whole time. She really never warmed up to the place..... I'm not sure why. She seems to be quite the Momma's girl lately. I like it of course, but sometimes I wonder if I should be pushing her to go off and have fun without me :) She carried her carrots around with her the whole time :) 5-17-11
Wednesday started out kinda lame. I think my grumpiness was the problem. I texted Nate a little, and we decided lunch together would help :) So the kids and I met him at McD's for lunch. It's so nice to have a little break in our day like that. Nate's so sweet to want to help cheer me up. I love him for that. 5-18-11
Thursday was supposed to be our park day with Grandma, but she of course cancelled, so Sarah, her boys, and we all went to Discovery instead. It was a lot of fun. Erika ran out of patience toward the end and started screaming at people. So we left :). It's been really nice to have that membership and be able to go out there every once in a while. That night was Grandpa Hatch's birthday party (even though his birthday was over a week ago while he was in Europe) Steve and I felt like he needed some cake and ice cream with his own family too :) It was nice that Brent and Sarah and their boys and Steve were able to come. It was nice and laid back, we got to see Grandpa's cool pictures from his trip. 5-19-11
- Today is Friday. I was so excited to be able to go to the Friday class again since it's been a while, but once again, I missed it. I woke up with horrible cramps, to the point where I almost couldn't walk or stand up straight for that matter. And after I went to the bathroom, I almost passed out. I figured a workout was probably out of the question. Besides the obvious inability to control the hemorraging..... sorry for the details, but this is just insane. I'm not sure what is going on every month. I thought that since my cramps were minimal yesterday that I might be getting a break this time, but I was wrong. It's kinda nuts. So anyway, I was really bummed about missing my class, I've been really weak and tired, and everything else has just been downhill from there. Erika is also adding an interesting element to the mix. She screamed and cried all morning long. Stomping, throwing herself around on the floor, not letting herself be held by anyway, full on tantrums basically. And it was a crazy morning getting EVERYONE ready so that I could make it to the school for Brad's testing. Not sure what's wrong with her. I think she may be getting some new teeth, but whatever it is, I hope it passes soon. She's just out of control. So anyway, I don't know why I'm putting this in here, but I'm tired and can't do anything else right now, so this seemed like the thing to do. HOpefully this day picks up and we can find something to enjoy about it. 5-20-11
- It's been so long since I put anything on here!! I'm such a slacker! We've had THE busiest 2 weeks! I don't think I'll be able to get it all, but I thought I should try to catch up a little.
- Tuesday, May 24th was Charity's Marionette Play. That was a long awaited program, by everyone in the family. We were all anxious to see our little Swedish puppet make the big stage. Charity did an AWESOME job on her "welcome" that she had practiced for DAYS before. She did a good job on her part also. Her cute puppet turned out so good! I was very pleased with how the whole thing went. They did a lot of songs with their ukeleles, and just singing. Grandpa Hatch, Aunt Sarah and Alvin, and our family all showed up in support of Charity. I love that Mrs. Rice had them do that program! What a neat way to learn about different cultures and countries. I'll never forget that!
- Friday, May 27th was Charity's field trip to Pioneer Village at Lagoon. I was so glad to be able to go with her! We had fun. Charity kept saying how much fun she was having during the Pioneer village, that surprised me, but made me glad that she could enjoy walking around and filling out a paper about the Pioneers. She seemed genuinely interested in all the old things. I love that stuff. I love thinking about the Pioneers and being grateful that Heavenly Father knew I would never be able to handle a lifestyle like that and saved me for this later time :). We had the opportunity to go on Rattlesnake Rapids and Charity totally cracked me up on that ride. She was very nervous. She's never really been on a ride like that, so it was fun to experience that with her. She LOVED it and went on it about 3 more times. We both got SOAKED and since the weather was a little overcast, we froze all the way home. I love going on field trips!!
- Saturday, May 28th, we got up early and made our way to the church for cleaning. It's funny how much fun our family has cleaning the church. If only it could be that fun to clean the house. Everyone helps out and is very pleasant. We got it done really fast. It's nice to have kids old enough to actually have it be helpful to have them help :). Hasn't always been that way :). We spent the rest of the day getting some of the yard work and house work and shopping for the baptism and birthday party.
-Memorial Day was nice. We went down to Heidi's place, visited, had Wingers, then headed on over to Nate's parents' house for a little bbq and visiting. Then made our way back to Murray to meet my Dad at Nana's grave. It means so much to me that we stop and leave some flowers for Nana. She was so good at that her whole life.... I can't help but think it means a lot to her still, and to have her grandkids there.... I hope she realizes that I want to show her that love still. If only I could get people to agree that we need to have her temple work done..... someday I hope.
-The last week of school was really crazy, but we had fun. Tuesday was our make up day for Kelly's birthday tables. Her day had been the same day as Charity's field trip, so we didn't get to do it then. I convinced her that a lunch away from school would be just as fun. Well, we had a little hang up on the way to Arby's, I got pulled over, spare you the details, it was a lot longer stop than usual. And very frustrating. Something about being pulled over just makes me so shakey and jittery for the next hour or so. So anyway, we had used up so much time getting a ticket that we didn't have a whole lot of time, but we still grabbed some Arby's and headed on up to the park. We only had a few minutes to eat and hurry and play, then get Kelly back up to school. I'm still a little bummed that things didn't go how I had hoped, but oh well, that's life. Seems to be Kelly's lot in life to learn to deal with disappointment. She has a lot of good, but there is sure a lot of not for her.
- Wednesday was Field Day!!! I was in charge of the 50 meter run, pipe game, and waterballoon game station. I timed the kids on their run the entire time. It was SO much fun!! I couldn't believe how fast some of those kids were!! Luckily Sarah watched Noah and Erika becasue I don't think they would have lasted too long there. Brad and Luke came with me, they played on the playground, ran around the field, chased after Charity and Kelly's classes, and then spent the last 2 hours (of the three) telling me that they were bored and wanted to go home. It was tough to keep them entertained, but Brad ended up hanging out with Charity's class, got mistaken for a 3rd grader, and Luke finally found pleasure in running the 50 meter over and over again ;) Fun stuff. I love Field Day. That is the one day I will ALWAYS be available to volunteer for :).
