It's what fun is!

Saturday was our ever-looked-forward-to trip to Lagoon! 

I decided it was time for our little family to experience Lagoon.  But I really didn't want to drag the little ones through the whole park (or pay for them when there is very little they would enjoy) so I pawned them off on my Mom for the first half of the day and Sarah and Brent for the other.  It was a good idea, and it was so fun to be able to spend that time with just the older three.  We invited Heidi and her friend John, and Steve.  Steve couldn't come until he got off work though, so for the first couple of hours he was MIA.

We went on SO many rides!  I couldn't believe how brave the kids were.  Kelly's first choice ride was Wicked!  I couldn't believe she was willing to go on that!  Honestly I think it's because it is yellow, but I didn't want to discourage her from trying something new.  She actually got us to the front of the line pretty quickly because she is so short and needed a booster seat.  Charity and Heidi opted out of this one.  I think Brad would have opted out of it too if he had known what he was getting himself into.  I'm not really sure why we chose to go on the THE SCARIEST ride FIRST, but I guess it was the constant begging from Kelly.  Either way, I think we should have worked up to it.  Kelly was so brave through the whole thing and then repeatedly said how cool it was for the rest of the day (though she wouldn't go on it again :) ).  Brad thought it was "okay".  Poor kid.  Kelly says that was her favorite ride, and I'd have to say it's probably mine too.  Brad's favorite ride was The Bat and The Swings.  He was so brave throughout the day he would try out rides even though he was very scared.  He found out that some of them were not as scary as he thought they would be.  That was a lot of fun to witness.  He was pretty quiet most of the day which surprised me, but I think he still had fun.  Charity was funny because she started out really cautious and not wanting to try anything and then slowly worked up to the scarier ones.  I was proud of her.  She ALMOST went on Wicked later in the day, but then just couldn't go through with it.  She was pretty cute about it.  Her favorite ride was the Space Scrambler. 

Nate found out his stomach is not what it used to be, and almost vomitted after a bunch of the spinny rides.  I felt so bad for him!!  He toughed it out though.... such a trooper (HA! jk.).  I loved spending the day with him. 

Heidi and John kept us entertained and laughing most of the day.  Steve was fun to have also.  We all got a kick out of watching Steve and John do the catapult.  That thing is just insane.  I loved most of the rides, though I'm not a big fan of Spider and The Bat (just because my head kept smacking the shoulder things).  I wish we'd had time to go to Lagoon a beach, but you just can't do that whole park in one day... we will probably have to bounce back for that. 

Thanks to Steve, my phone was saved by the ol' put the wet cell phone in rice trick.  I was worried, but it works just fine now.

I love that our kids are getting older and are able to enjoy that kind of fun!  It sure was a fun day!
