Saturday was our big carnival day. We like to go over to the Handcart Days carnival thing at Bountiful Park. In past years this has been a really fun, cheap, family activity, but this year..... well, just take out the cheap part. Everything seemed WAY overpriced! Well, basically they just charged more for the tickets and thus everything was twice as much. Kinda bummed me out. We mangaged to still have fun though, I think :). Charity, Kelly, and Brad wanted to do the Bungee thing first. Brad braved it this year! And for the first year, Charity and Kelly did some cool tricks! It was a lot of fun to watch. Luckily my camera hadn't pooped out yet. Kelly went first and it took her a while to figure out how to do the flips, but she did a back one and a few front ones! Very cool! Brad went next and he did SO GOOD! He kept trying to do flips, but it just wasn't happening. Better luck next year. I was so proud of him though! So brave! Charity was next and she totally blew us away with her back flips! She did a million of them! So many she had sore ab muscles all Sunday.
After the bungee, LUkey wanted to try out the bouncy obstacle course. He's a pro in those things! Then we hit the little swings for Luke, Noah and Erika. That was so fun to watch! And not just the little ones, but watching the big kids get into it with them! Cheering for them everytime they came around! I loved it. Erika had the cutest smile on her face! Noah was happy and loved it, especially loved everyone yelling his name as he came around. Luke seemed like he was having a fun time, even though he might be too old for it. He kept swinging after it stopped and made friends with the little girl next to him, I actually saw him holding up his "5" on his hands to tell her how old he was :) Made me laugh.
We headed on over to the bouncy house. That was a train wreck! Brad, Luke, Noah and Erika were the ones who wanted to do it, and about 1 minute into it, Erika got hurt, cried, I pulled her out, then Noah got hurt, cried, I pulled him out, and then seriously right after I set him down, Lukey got hurt, cried, and I had to pull him out too!!! 3 out of 4.... not very good odds for the bouncy house!!! Kinda nuts. And a little embarrassing. Ya gotta love the lady that's trying to explain to me how dangerous the bouncy house can be.... trying to tell me somewhere else to take them.... she was only being nice, but seriously, this isn't our first carnvial :) Just bad luck. But whatever :)
The Fishing pond was next.... they actually had some good stuff this year... stuff the kids liked anyway :)... that's not to say the junk won't get left around the house, broken, lost, or just ditched in the deep dark hole we call the toy room..... It's like Nate said, we did just clean out underneath the couches... could use some more little toys to get stuck under them.
Then the kids tried out another little game.... if you can call it that.... they got some prizes though, so that's all that matters. We were short on tickets, so it was time to divide them all out.... everyone got a couple... we split up to get our goodies, snow cones, cotton candy, creamies, popcorn.... and by then Noah and Erika were on their last lap. It was time to go! We made our way back to the car... ever so slowly.... and home for a nap ;).....
We had so much fun! I love these traditions. I just hate it when my camera battery dies in the first half hour of the fun. Oh well. Good times.
