- Today has been another one of those bumb-around-and-do-nothing kind of days. Well, it started out that way anyway. We didn't leave the couches until around noon... sad, I know. I am not sure what was wrong with all of us, but we were tired! Possibly still hung over from the weekend, not sure. Either way though, I loved it!! We watched everyone's favorite shows, laughed, talked, it was actually a really fun bonding time. Even Erika was loving having everyone in one room together, she started showing off her new trick where she would jump up and land on her bumb.... just on the ground.... it was so cute! And she loved the reactions she was getting from everyone. I love it when everyone gives each other that kind of love and attention. Lukey was feeling like having some too, so he got out the hoola hoop and started practicing. A little later he came in and invited us all to go out and watch how good he could hoola-hoop. He did so well!!! That kid is just really athletic. He can do anything physical that he tries. It blows me away. It was a good thing he got us all up too, otherwise, we may not have had lunch either ;). We ended up getting up and getting a few things done. We cleaned the boys' room, made some bread, took Erika to the doc for her well child visit (that went pretty well, I'm still in awe at how well she did.... she usually fights the whole process), made some cookies, made dinner, tried to make a movie with Charity and her friend, did some bead crafts, flew Brad's helicopter, AND had family night! It was a full evening apparently :) Good thing we were all rested up :). FHE was fun, we walked up to the church (the kids rode their bikes and scooter, and rode in the stroller) and played a game of kick ball.... our latest craze ;) Brad's lesson. It was fun, but too hot and we forgot water, so it was short lived. But fun nonetheless. Overall, I'd say it was a pretty good day! 7-19-11
- Wednesday we went out to Liberty Park for our field trip. About 2 minutes after we got there someone had to go to the bathroom. The walk to the bathroom wasn't REAL far, but it was far enough that it was annoying to find out that someone else had to go a few minutes after we got back. And then again a few minutes after that. Then we made another trek back to the car for the chairs. All this walking would be fine by oneself, but dragging a few kids (usually whining or crying) with you, makes it less pleasurable. I would know. Once we got settled, everyone seemed to have a good time. I wish I'd remembered food though.... if anyone else has food, my kids seem to be starving. It wasn't quite lunch time, but sure felt like it was. Charity was bored most of the time, since none of the kids are really her age/gender. She sat by me and listened to the 'conversating'. Kelly had a good time with her friends Daphne and Clara. I hardly saw her the entire time. Brad had pinecone races down the little rivers with Luke and Henry. Near the end Luke was climbing on the waterfall area and totally scraped his sides.... that was pretty sad.... Noah didn't do much playing. He did in the beginning, but he and Erika spent MOST of the time on my lap. I guess Erika had been playing with Kelly until Kelly found big girl things to do. That place is fun, but I think the fact that it is so shady, it makes it hard for the kids to really play in the water for very long. This wasn't one of my favorite field trips. It was fun though, we had enough fun :). I had my camera with me, but taking pictures with Erika and Noah on my lap just didn't happen.
- Monday night Dan Campbell (one of Nate's old mission companions) and his wife Kisha and their two boys Lincoln and Owen came over to visit. They were up from Arizona for a reunion and spent the week here, it was so nice of them to make time for us! That can't be easy with kids! It was a really nice visit! Their little boy is adorable! What a cute family. It's nice that Nate and Dan have remained friends all these years. Hopefully we can make a visit down there next year like we want to.... we'll see!
- Tuesday the 27th I spent the ENTIRE day packing and getting the house ready to leave it. What a nightmare! The kids helped out a lot, and we were able to get the whole car loaded!
