My Baby Erika is TWO!!!!

It is so crazy to me that Erika is 2 now!!  Most of my kids were well on their way to big sibling-hood at this age, and Erika is not even close!  Not that that matters, it just makes this age seem so much older!  She is such a cool little girl!  And she's so much happier lately!  Erika is a special little person.  She is so smart for her age, and she's so aware of what is going on around her.  It amazes me how much she understands.  She's very clever :)  And very mischeivous.  She is a total flirt with her Daddy and knows that she has him wrapped around her little finger.  She pretty much has everyone wrapped around her little finger.  Including her big brothers and sisters.  She's a tease.  She's pretty goofy when she wants to be.  And you can usually distract her with a sneaky smile and make something look like a trick or a joke.... she's all for that ;).  She carries the excitement of a whole Elementary School class when you ask who wants something, or when it comes time to cheer... she's really got the big "YEAH!" Erika gives the BEST hugs.  Only if you deserve one though :) She will even sneak in a little kiss if you're lucky.  She follows her Mommy around all day, everyday, and loves to do everything that I"m doing.  It's actually really cute if I'm in the right mood for it :).  She can be pretty needy.  Though she's really starting to figure out how to do a lot more on her own, which is nice.  She's very helpful.  She loves to help fold towels, unload the dryer, or dishwasher.  She doesn't mind doing little favors for me all day.  Service with a smile ;).  Erika LOVES to be outside.  Her latest is "digging" with Noah.  She loves to be going.  She would prefer to not be at home most of the time.  But if we stay anywhere else too long then, "Go home?"  She usually wants to come home.  She's a busy little girl :).  She likes to draw pictures.  She knows the first two letters of her name and will say them over and over again when she's got her name on a picture.  She loves Nursery, and she and NOah have become such good friends in there.  It's going to be a bummer when he has to leave in January.  They take good care of each other.  They're really good buds at home too.  Playing house, super heroes, watching movies together.... they're just really cute together.  Erika likes to eat candy, snacks, cheese, "chippies", and treats.  Nothing else really :)  So as long as we call what we are eating a "snack" or a "treat".... she's usually game ;).  She picks at her food at mealtime.  Cheese is a favorite.  But really, if something doesn't have tons of sugar or salt, it's usually a no go.  We're working on that.  She will however, unlike some of her brothers, willingly TRY just about anything.  Just a little bite though ;)  and then she's "done".  But it is cool that she tries it.  She has an obsession with babies!  Ever since she was 4 months old and tried to jump out of my arms at the Dallas' baby in the hall at church, she's just been fascinated with them.  We still have to stop at every car seat in the grocery store, and look back and stare at all the babies during Sacrament meeting.  I love it!!  It's really cute to watch her play with her dolls too.  She takes very good care of them!  I was so excited that she had shown interest in Barbies (just because it's cute) and I was trying to look at them with her in the toy aisle, and she just ditched me with the Barbies to go check out the babies.  It's adorable!  Anything baby is cool to her :)  If we didn't have so many already, I think I'd get her one for her birthday.  She also LOVES kitties!  She kept telling people she was a Kitty for Halloween.... even though she knew darn well she was Little Red Riding Hood.  Funny girl.
It's fun to watch her strong personality getting stronger everyday.  She's such a good girl!  She obeys really well, and lets you know when she disagrees with what you've asked of her, but still follows command.  It's actually really cool.  She's very polite, always says "pweese" and "tank ooh" even better than some of her older siblings, which is a surprise to me :).
I just really love my little 2 year old!  She is such a light in my life.  It's been sort of a rocky road with her, simply because of her strong personality, up to this point, but for the last month or so, she's really become quite a fun, happy, talkative little person.
I get so anxious to see what this little angel will do with her life, and who she will become, but at the same time, I hate to see her get old and not be my little tiny baby anymore.  But either way, she's growing, and we love her!  I don't know what this family would do without her personality and cuteness.  We all need her in our lives.
So anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY ERIKA!!!  WE LOVE YOU!

 Here's looking back:
My cute little yawner!  This is Erika on her BIRTHday.  She was a cuddly little sweetie!
