Coloring Easter Eggs

It was Noah's lesson the Monday before Easter, so we talked him into having coloring Easter eggs be our lesson :).  He was hesitant for some reason, but that's what we did :).  

I'm not sure how this happened, but for some reason I never bought leftover kits last year!  I had seen a few things on pinterest to DIY, so that's what we did!  We just used regular food coloring, vinegar, and hot water!  I'm still undecided whether this way is cheaper or not, but it's nice to know we can do it :).  I even made some really cool color combos.  I was pretty proud of myself.  The black was really awesome too. 

Coloring eggs is one are of our family life that I feel we have mastered.  I don't even feel guilty saying that :).  We have very little mess and lots of fun!  It's awesome.  Jack even colored a couple.

We found out that we had to leave the eggs in the colors a little longer with the homemade colors.

Luke went nuts with the crayons.  I'm pretty sure he coated the whole egg in white crayon.  He was very meticulous (as usual) with his eggs.  He did the fewest because he took so much time on each egg.  It was cute.  I love how into this he gets :).

This was my I heart Nate one... tradition.

Once Jack colored an egg, it was was time to smash it onto the table.

He did manage to make a few messes with the egg :).  He's new :).

Brad did some really cool ones too- with the elastics and stuff.  

We both really liked this one.
