STAKE CONFERENCE-
I LOVED our Stake Conference. I'm going to start sounding like a broken record player, but I just LOVE our ward and our Stake. It's been such a refreshing month spiritually. I have just been in heaven. Some of the most spiritual lessons, and most powerful talks, in our one month here. Stake Conference was no different. We were getting a new Presidency. Which I think is really cool since we just got here... starting fresh... It was kind of weird listening to all the inside jokes and stuff of the old Presidency, as everyone was bearing their testimonies, but Nate and I both agreed that the Spirit totally bore witness of inspiration that was used in calling the new Presidency. It was really powerful and kind of amazing considering we've never even met any of the men they put in. I LOVE the Priesthood for that reason. It's just so cool that you could feel so good about supporting and sustaining 3 people whom you've never even met, and know without a doubt that they were called by God and that they will carry out his will in the matters of this Stake. I LOVE it!! So cool! I really enjoyed the talk by the Area Authority that spoke as well. He had 4 things that came to him one more as he was preparing for the talk. Four things that he knew he had to mention in this Stake Conference. I wanted to remember them: 1- Diligent Scripture Study (personal and as a family). 2- Daily Repentance. 3- Exact Obedience- and he talked about how in the Book of Mormon they laid down their weapons of rebellion and that that's what we need to do. Those little things that don't come up in a temple recommend interview, but that are holding us back. I have some of those. I'm determined to lay them down. The last one, 4- Come, Come Ye Saints. He said he had that song stuck in his head and knew he needed to bring it up., but wasn't sure why and what, so he said to go home and read it and maybe it would be the answer to someone's prayer. What faith. I LOVE the faith that he showed. It motivated me to be more faithful. To just follow the advice I am given. That even just the simple act of following advice is a way to show Heavenly Father that I am willing and ready to do what he asks. No matter what it is. It's a "work". Faith without works is dead, so we have to do stuff to show our faith. Anyway. It all makes sense in my head. It's not coming out how it is in my head though, so I'll just stop. It was a great meeting nonetheless. I loved watching Charity's face light up as the Young Woman spoke on Family History and doing the temple work for names you've discovered on your own. She and I are going to start doing that so that she can do baptisms for family names when she goes to the temple for the first time. I think that's so cool. And she's so awesome for being in tune to the Spirit of Elijah and listening to the promptings that she did. What a cool girl. 6-2-13
ERIKA AND NOAH-
They were downstairs, I was up in my room, getting ready, and I hear these frantic little voices and then this:
Noah: (somewhat panicky) MOM!! WE NEED TO TAKE ERIKA... TO THE... (he was walking up the stairs and I think he's still young enough that it's hard to talk and walk at the same time :) )SHOE STORE!!!
Erika: Yeah!!
(I had totally thought he was going to say hospital or doctor or something serious... I had no idea what the drama was about anyway, so my mind had wandered... it was funny when he said shoe store)
Then Erika came in my bathroom with her shoe up in the air and very seriously said, "My shoe is breaked! Now it's just coming off just easy peasy wemon squeezy!"
I love these two!
FIELD DAY-
Thursday was our school's Field Day! SO much fun! I had signed up to help with Bradley's class so, since Nate was off, he and the littles all just came with me! We had a blast! They did tons of fun stuff that was all new to our kids! Big bouncy slide, hoola hoop musical chairs, tug o war, water high jump. Lots of fun. We talked with Kim Burningham as we went along. She happens to be the sister-in-law of a guy Nate works with... small world... It was also fun to watch Bradley in his element. Winning everything... as usual. Kelly and Charity both came and gave us hugs throughout the time. Luke wasn't out on the field with us, the first graders went earlier in the day. As a result, they got to play on the slide during lunch recess! Pretty cool stuff! 6-6-13
YEARBOOKS-
We found out that Holbrook screwed up with our yearbooks. Even though we paid for them during the preorder, TWICE, they don't have record of us ordering them. So no yearbooks this year. Kind of a bummer. I am really mad about it still, but I"m trying not to be. I think in some ways, this could be a good thing. Oh well....
GRANDMA'S BIRTHDAY PARTY-
After Kelly's party, we said goodbye to Nate- he had to work, then hurried and cleaned up the party. We raced down to Bountiful to get Kelly to her friend Jocelyn's party (along with Clara Thomas from her party and Luke to play with Carter). Then we quickly went down to Bountiful Park for my Mom's Birthday Party. It was actually a really nice relaxing time. Simon had bought pizza and chicken, then cheesecake too. It was a lot of fun! We picked up the kids at their party afterwards and then headed on up to my Dad's to use his computer. Since his house was like 80 degrees, I decided to pass on the picture updating and ended up sitting around in the backyard with Steve and Jauslin instead :). Fun stuff. Grandpa and Dawn showed up after a while and then eventually we got our tired little patooties out of there. It had been a long day! I was exhausted.
