"You are not here to live a mediocre to average life; you are here to live an amazing life, a miraculous life. If it weren't for your challenges, there would be no miracles. You must do that which seems impossible, for it is only in the impossible that miracles are had." - author unknown, but very respected

The Family Party

Kelly's Family party was on Monday.  She had a really great turnout!  It was neat that so many came now that we live even a little further away.  Grandma Ruthie, Grandpa Russ.  Jen, Adam, Meg and her family all came from the Maynes side.  Then Grandpa Hatch, the Hatch Family, Grandma and Simon and even Heidi and John came.  So lots of fun!  We all just ate and hung out outside in the backyard.  It was SO nice to be able to just sit and relax out there.  I loved that there were things for people to do, but also shade and good food.  This house is just so comfortable.  I can't say that enough.  I love it!!  I think Kelly felt everyone's love and support.  She loves the attention.  She even put on a show for us with her sibs out in the front yard at the end.  Fun stuff.  I love that my kids love to perform.  It's such a good talent.  She was really adorable about her presents.  Very gracious and grateful.  I love to think back on her 3rd birthday.  The one in Alaska where we were so poor she only got one present.  I think all the grandparents and everyone had even forgotten to plan ahead, so none of their gifts had reached her yet either.  But all she had wanted was a shopping cart.  That's all she got.  A cheap little $7.00 shopping cart.  The great thing was, she was as happy as I've ever seen her.  With that one little present.  She couldn't have wished for more, she was just on a cloud and loved it so much.  It was so adorable.  I will never forget that.  I know how easy she is to please :).  She really is a good little girl and always so grateful for what she has.  Makes me proud of her.  And then the party was over :)
