Man am I going to miss having Mrs. Piper next year. She was AMAZING!! I really can't say that enough can I! I couldn't have been happier with Noah's first year of school. It was heavenly. She really made things wonderful for him. He made SO much progress. I can't believe that a kid who knew only a handful of letters could end up one of the top readers in the class. It's really just proof to me that Preschool is not necessary and that the Book of Mormon is true- sounds random, I know, but all of our kids have learned to read the Book of Mormon from the beginning and I totally believe it has helped them become better readers. Anyway- Go Noah!! He's very excited to go all day next year because "1) 3 recesses (except on short day). 2) Lunch at school. 3) taking home library books!!!" It's gonna be big :). We were able to snag this picture with Mrs. Piper after Charity's graduation. She is the sweetest person on the planet. I hope Erika gets her.
I waited with Charity at the door of Luke's classroom for the bell to ring to get a picture and when Charity looked in the window this is what she saw- we had to barge in and snap a shot in the middle of the group hug :). Too bad Lukey is walking away by the time I got in there.
Mrs. Featherstone was another favorite this year. She just worshipped Luke. I will never forget his SEP conference where she said she just wants to kiss him. She always tells us what a great student he was. She did some cute little awards just for their class, and the one she gave Luke was "Best Listener". He was so proud and so are we. I am so happy to know that he is respectful of his teachers. She was so much fun and I know Luke is going to miss her.
Mrs. Wood was great for Bradley this year. I think he enjoyed being the class clown most of the time :). He did a great job too though, and she always made sure to tell us that he was a fun student to have in her class. I love that Bradley overcame the feelings he had at the beginning of the year and was able to stick out this year- it wasn't an easy one for him. I'm proud of him though!!
Oh this was a crazy year for Kelly as well. I'm not as sad to see it end for her. I think the thing we learned from her fifth grade year was that she can do anything! She made it!! She survived the worst class in the school (in several peoples' opinions). It was a tough one. Her teacher situation was less than ideal mixed with some of the most disobedient kids I've ever heard about. But she did it!! Kelly deserves this summer! She's totally earned it :). Hopefully she gets lucky and has a better year to top off her Elementary experience next year! I can't believe she'll be in sixth grade!
Charity has loved Mrs. Johnson. I think they were a perfect mix in a lot of ways. I'm glad she was able to do so well this year and learn so much. She really has changed so much this year. We're all geared up for Jr. High next year.... kinda... I'm nervous! But it's going to be great! She's so excited! I can't wait to see what Charity does next.

We had to stop at the store to get a few things for our Party, Kelly came back to the car and did this :). She cracks me up.
We promised the kids an End-of-the-year Water Party for the last day of school, so they all told their friends (some of them made their own hand-written invitations- thanks to Kelly) so at one point in the afternoon there were a total of 35 kids ages ranging from 1 1/2 to 12, in our backyard (I was filling up water balloons for about 2 hours back there so I have no idea how many were also in the front at that time)- LOTS of kids!! Throwing waterballoons at each other- I seriously could not make them fast enough- playing in the brown water of the pool, playing in the creek, jumping through the sprinkler, and laying out to dry on the trampoline. It was pretty low-budget :), but I think they still had fun. I was happy to do it for the kids. I was missing our old ice cream party on the last day that we used to do at Holbrook, but this ended up being just as good :).

That night the kids all went over to the Caldwell's for a movie night in their backyard! I stayed back to get Jack asleep and say goodbye to Nate (he had to work the mid). My kids were so tired, I think most of them came home early and fell asleep in front of our tv, but what a fun day!! Here's to another year of school! Now bring on Summer!!!! 5-31-14
