PRIMARY PROGRAM
My favorite Sunday of all! The Primary Program!! I loved the program this year! It was especially good because they had the kids all write their own parts. It's always good when they do that. Our kids did so well! Everyone had their parts memorized and they all were so brave! Bradley also got to perform in a special musical number! They all worked so hard, it was fun to watch their cute faces while they sang and feel the spirit. 10-25-15
DINNERS/ORGANIZATION
We finally sat down and planned which days everyone is going to make/help with dinners. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while and after seeing Kelly and Charity succeed so well at their meals, I thought why not open it up to everyone. So we assigned everyone a day and planned our first two weeks of meals! Wahoo! Charity- Sunday, Me- Monday, Kelly-Tuesday, Erika- Wednesday, Bradley- Thursday, Luke- Friday, and Noah- Saturday. We'll see how it goes!
We also decided that Monday and Thursday will be our new no-screen days. Minus Jazz games of course. 10-25-15
PERSONALITY ISLANDS
After seeing Inside Out, I really loved the thought of focusing on each kid's individual personality traits. And not just on my own, but having them do it too. I think it's healthy to be able to discuss what makes you who you are. So I had the kids make up their own Islands of Personality. They seemed to love it! Some of them couldn't stop thinking of them :). I was so proud of them and so glad to hear how much they love themselves. I can't wait to hear them all at FHE tomorrow. 10-25-15
LUNCH
In an effort to accommodate Molly and I, Kenni, Heather and I decided to just have lunch at Kenni's house! We ordered take out and just sat and talked the whole time. Nate had the day off, and had changed his mind about doing the stone job, so he let Jack stay home with him, but Erika came along. We are such a funny ground, Heather, Kenni and I. Not a LOT in common, but it's so fun to get together and talk. I love that I feel comfortable with them and can talk about just about anything. They're fun to be with. We need to do that stuff more often really. 10-28-15
TRICK-OR-TREAT FOOD DRIVE
The Beehives were in charge of our combined activity this month. We planned a Trick-or-Treat food drive, at the Bishop's request. It was kind of nice that we had the idea handed to us. The girls all did a great job and we had SUCH a good turn out, only took about a half hour to round up food from the whole ward! We ended up with the whole back of our car filled up with food! Cool stuff. I wish the kids could have come with us to deliver it all to the Food Bank. They were so happy to get such a huge amount of food! Go Shadowbrook Ward! 10-28-15
NOAH'S HALLOWEEN PARTY
We got to help with Noah's Halloween party this year. Nate had the day off, so he, Jack, Molly and I were all there, to man "The Eyeball Toss". Ping pong balls drawn to look like eyeballs, tossed into halloween type bowls. This game has always been a big hit because we bring regular sized candy bars as the prize for getting the eyeball in the furthest, smallest bowl. It was pretty fun, but I have to admit I was slightly disappointed. Only one kid got it in the most difficult one. Leaving everyone else somewhat underwhelmed with it all. They still got prizes for getting it in the closer ones, but eh. We needed to have something LESS difficult I guess. But either way, it was fun to spend time with Noah and his class. He was sad that he didn't do so well, but got the game out when we got home and had a great time making it all better :) 10-29-15
KELLY AND THE TEMPLE
For one of Kelly's Personal Progress projects, she is doing baptisms at the temple. She has been going to the temple at least once a week. The only times she's missed is when I can't take her. This week, I just dropped her and Charity off while we all ran errands. I love that they are willing to go and do the Lord's work. And so anxious to do so. Even on their own! Nate had wanted to go, but of course, his recommend expired last month! Hate it when that happens! 10-29-15
KIM'S CLOTHES
For the last like 10 years Kim Ball has been giving us her amazing boy clothes. I don't know if I've ever documented that, but it's definitely something I want to remember. Every quarter or so, I get a text or a call from her saying she has another couple bags :). And her clothes are so nice!! I will never forget how she took bags of clothes up to my Dad's while we were in AK so that he could mail them or bring them when he visited! Even across 3,000 miles she was willing to share! It's certainly saved us hundreds of dollars!! She had a bunch more this week and just in time for Bradley to have jeans for the winter! Such a relief. She's so generous! 10-29-15
