On Saturday we FINALLY made it to the Airforce Museum. I say finally because EVERY TIME we've tried to go there in the last 9 years, it's been closed for one reason or another. One time it was because of 9/11, another time there was some bomb that was missing or something.... it's been difficult! So anyway, we went on Saturday and they actually let us in!! It was still too hot (should have waited a few weeks) but I think we managed to have a good time. Nate was in heaven! Who knew he would be so thrilled to be there. He really does love looking at these old aircrafts. He took most of the pictures (all but a few) and I wasn't sure which ones he liked best, so I just put a whole bunch!
I think the kids mostly liked the ones that they could go inside. Kelly was really interested in all the females in uniform, fake or real. She even squealed, "a GIIIIRL!!!" when we were pulling in and there was a female in uniform, directing us to the parking lot. She was cute. We learned that the women in one of the wars made wedding dresses and stuff out of parachutes since they couldn't afford or didn't have silk. Kinda cool.
This was pretty cool. A replica of the Atomic Bomb. Although after I got to thinking about how many people that thing killed.... made me kinda sad that we've had to resort to this stuff.
Everyone did really well and enjoyed most of it as far as I could tell.
Then once we hit that last building, all heck kinda broke loose for me. Erika was screaming, it was echoing, she was thirsty, the water bottle we bought her was a pain to use, Noah was tired and whining, the stroller and the baby back pack quickly became just accessories...... yeah, I started to lose it and rushed us through the end. Once we got back outside though, things calmed back down, we saw the cars that were displayed outside (I think there was some kind of car show there, we had no idea though).
It was a fun time for all (especially Nate) and I think we just might go there again sometime :) That is if they will let us!
