Kelly and Charity made Nate's sign this year- pretty cute!
Nate's birthday was a fun one! Well, aside from the fact that he had to work. But we tried to make up for it when he got home. We spent most of the day making his cake. It shouldn't have been so time consuming, but Kelly and I were insisting on having Star Crunch for the hamburger patty. Unfortunately none of the four stores we went to had any!!! Still blows my mind. The chocolate cookies worked out just fine. We had a lot of fun making his "Grill Cake". I wonder if Jack is wondering why we called a cake that looks like food on a grill a "Girl cake", haha!! He never did get it right :).
So when Nate got home, we surprised him with his cake, the Taylors showed up and we let Nate open his gifts. He seemed to like them even though I got the wrong size (lame).
Then we left all the kids at home and the adults went out to dinner at Red Lobster. That was such a nice time. It's been a LONG time since we got to hang out with Meg and Chris. I just love that we can all pick up where we left off. Good times. Such a fun way to spend Nate's birthday. We needed a change.
When we got home we did the cake and ice cream and then turned on Zootopia in the backyard. Meg and Chris took off before the movie started, leaving Sierra to sleepover, but it ended up being a pretty fun filled evening! I hope Nate enjoyed it. 7-25-16
Look at that bonfire!!!
