Things to Remember Week of 7-24-16

NEW DENTIST
I made Nate do the first three or four teeth cleaning appointments, so this week was my first time going to the new place and meeting everyone and can I just say what a pleasure it was to take my kids there!!  It was so refreshing.  Friendly office people got me off on the right note, and then the dentist himself is hilarious.  Totally dry humor.  Erika says he teases just like Dad :).  I just really appreciate a good dentist.  I'm SO glad I asked Emily for a referral.  Charity did great at her visit even though it ended in tears because she really didn't want to have to go back.  She may be more comfortable with the laughing gas this time though- thanks to Dr. Morgan and his sensitive words.  We will see.  Noah did great too!  I loved the, "You're eight huh?  So you have eight girlfriends?" and the look on Noah's face!!  HA!  7-25-16

PACKED INSTEAD OF PACKING
Tuesday was supposed to be my packing day for our camping trip with the Blackburns, but I ended up doing everything but that!  If everything could have happened on time and the way I'd planned, it would have worked out, but of course, it didn't.  The produce truck was late, so I got to sit and cuddle with my Molly in the morning- didn't mind that of course.  But I got done sorting the produce just in time for LeAnn who also showed up a little late (which is SO unlike her!!  Usually she shows up while I'm vacuuming up the living room).  She ended up staying until 10:50 which was 20 minutes past the time we told Sarah we'd meet her at the park!!  So we were late for that, and then had to leave half the kids there for Noah's dentist appointment.  Which meant I had to go back.  Luckily it worked out to send Heidi's dinner with my mom that day because driving out to Salt Lake would have pushed me over the edge.  We finally got home around 3:00 and were able to spend the next two hours cleaning and packing.  We got a LOT done!  Then it was time to get ready for the ward swimming party!  So the rest of the evening is of course history!  I even drove all the way out to West Jordan to take Sierra home that night instead of staying up late to cram in some more packing and cleaning.  Such a crazy change of events.  Oh well.  7-26-16

BOUNCE BACK
After getting evacuated from the Uintas we decided we didn't want to spend the day moping around.  We got really crazy and at the last minute (seriously, it was 10:30 when we made the final call and told the kids our plan to go to Lagoon) realized we were within our 10 bounce back days and decided to go!  It was a little crazy, but everyone was really excited!  It was so much fun!!  I can't believe how much fun we are able to have there.  Everyone humored Jack and watched him go on rides for the first little while.  Of course Erika, Noah and Luke all get to go with him :).  (Luke and Noah are at that happy height of 50-54 inches where you can go on almost everything there)  Our big kids are all so fun with their little sibs.  They were so patient and so good to entertain them.  Molly seemed a little less flexible this time, but she was still such a good girl.  We got Noah to go on a bunch of new rides- Wicked, Colossus, Samurai, etc.- all the scary ones he'd talked himself into since the last time we went.  I'm glad he got the chance :).  He couldn't decide if Colossus or Wicked was scarier.  I think he may have passed out on Colossus the first time- I was so worried about him!  Erika was so brave again!  She went on everything that she could!  Unfortunately she wasn't tall enough for the Rocket, Cliff Hanger or Samurai which TOTALLY bummed her out.  One measly inch!!  She's so much fun!  Bradley spent most of the day wishing he wanted to go on Colossus.  He was fine with Wicked, but not Colossus until the very end of the day!  I think it helped to go on Cliffhanger and Air Race- going upsidedown a few times before- he was able to go on Colossus a couple times.  I was proud of him for braving it.  I wish he'd not beat himself up all day though.  Luke braved Wicked this time!!  He was so hilarious screaming, "THIS IS TOTALLY WICKED!!"  Anyone who can make jokes while they're being thrown around on a roller coaster is my hero.  He braved Rocket and Samurai with me too!  He seems pretty fearless.  Under estimating and over estimating all the rides was fun to hear about :).  Charity got really brave this time too (maybe bouncing back was the trick!)!  She went on the Rocket with me!!  I can't believe how scary that ride was!  She really was brave to try that one out!  Cliffhanger too.  I loved hearing her talk about how once you do it, it's not scary again.  And Kelly!  She braved Cliffhanger and Air Race with us.  She was our MVP sitting with Molly and Jack while the rest of us went on Colossus and Wicked.  Such a sacrifice.  She loved Cliffhanger though- which I'm glad- she said it's her new favorite ride.  My only regret was that we didn't make it over to Cannibal.  I think Nate's too chicken ;).  I loved going on the Rocket and Samurai and realizing how much scarier those rides are as an older adult!  Seriously freaked me out.  Nate stayed away from the spinning ones but he had a lot of fun too.  I think the highlight of the day was the Carousel at the very end.  Everyone was so happy and trying to psyche Jack and Molly up.  We all got a kick out of Molly's "weird noise" as she watched it go around while we waited in line.  I think it's funny that Jack likes the "seat" the most, but I loved that he invited me to sit there with him!  We both almost fell asleep.  I put my blistered feet up.  What a fun day.  7-29-16

SATURDAY
We really took it easy on Saturday.  It was nice to just relax after such a strange week.  We finally unpacked the camping trailer.  Washed out our tie dye shirts.  Caught up on all our shows we'd missed.  We even went out with the Hatches, Grandpa and Dawn for Snow cones.  It was a nice day.  7-30-16
