So.... I'm sure a week isn't long to neglect my blog anymore, but it felt like an eternity so I'm going to tell why. First of all, last Thursday was our date night with Kelly. She chose Chuck-A-Rama. We had a really good time with her. She is a sweet little girl. I get a kick out of how funny Kelly is when she's alone like that. You think she's feeding off of everyone else normally, but nope, it's her! She enjoyed mixing up flavors for her drink and wishing she could take it home for Charity to sample. She ate mostly desserts and snacks.... and I guess that's what you're supposed to do at Chuck-A-Rama. As much as I joke about that place, I do kind of like it. I think for sentimental reasons mostly though. Grandma and Grandpa Mottishaw and Nana always took us there.... for birthday lunches, Sunday dinners, etc.... lots of fun memories in that place (kinda funny). I am however starting to think that they put something in their food to make you feel full though.... because I don't feel like I really ate that much, but I was totally bloated all night long. Could have been the thoughts of what Nate's digestive system was doing.... which brings me to the rest of the evening. We came home to our happy, worn out kids. Have I mentioned how much I love having young women in the ward babysit. Aside from the obvious having to pay them part, they are SO MUCH FUN for the kids!! And no offense to the family members who have lovingly watched our kids for so long (and for FREE- we LOVE our family and love not having to impose on them as much now). They just have SO MUCH energy! Kelsie Crapo watched them this time and they were out in the back playing tag and had been out there for the 2 hours we were gone. Kinda nice. So anyway, we had put off our FHE a few nights before, so we were planning on having it that night. Nate's condition was worsening (he had come home from work with a sick stomach). So he conducted the FHE, but you could hardly tell he was there. It was sad. The kids didn't seem to mind, they loved Kelly's lesson. She did a great job too! She did a combo Temple/Tithing lesson. I love it when they teach and show off their knowledge. We ended FHE with some Oreos (Noah's treat) and it all went downhill from there. Noah started feeling sick and almost threw up a few times (which seemed somewhat normal since Noah throws up pretty easily). The cutest thing ever though was when he said, "Is it my birthday tomorrow?" He associates throwing up and feeling sick with his birthday. Sad. I said, "No." And to that he said, "Why?" Hahahaha! Funny boy. So anyway, Nate felt like crap, everyone else started feeling like crap.... Nate took Friday off and slept most of the day. I felt like crap that whole day. I did manage to get caught up on my Blog book though, it's almost ready to be ordered!!! 2009 though..... better late than never I guess.... Anyway, Noah, Erika, and Kelly all had their turns throwing up that day, and they all took turns with Nate in the bathroom. It was not a good bug and we could all see that. Saturday they were all looking a little better, but by Saturday night, I was feeling the stomach part of the bug. Luke had a little turn with it. Sunday, Nate was feeling better, but we were in no condition to go to church, so we took the day off. It's better to not share some things. Sunday night was really awful. I think we were all just so pent up and so sick of being sick. By Monday Nate was feeling good enough to go to work, but I was totally in the depths of it all. I could not have survived Monday without the help of my Charity and Bradley. They totally saved the day! Monday and Tuesday they did everything! My Mom brought us a delicious soup that night, and I was feeling good enough to eat it, so that was nice. Back on Saturday when I started feeling really bad, I realized that I needed to feel better by Wednesday because my period was scheduled to hit that day. I just knew that there was no way I would have to deal with both my cramps from you know where and this dumb bug (or two or three- we kept feeling like it was two separate bugs). Well, crazy part was that I actually started a day earlier...... so Tuesday night was horrible. Nobody could sleep, Charity and Bradley were getting it and Erika was out of control. I threw up (which seemed strange since I thought I was getting better) probably because of the pain and the lack of sleep. I was trying so hard to not make Nate get up with the kids and not have to miss out on sleep since he had his Eval the next day. But I was really scared for Wednesday. When we woke up I found Kelly feeling 100%! PHEW!! I seriously relied on my kids more than I think I ever have! Kelly ran the show all day Wednesday until Nate could get off after passing his Eval (talk about STRESSFUL in the middle of all this mess at home!) what a blessing! Passing the Eval AND being able to come home were both HUGE blessings in my mind. Nate came home and took such good care of all of us! What would I do without him. All of those first three days, he came home and took the kids out so that I could have some time to sleep and so that they could have some time out. It was so nice. My Dad brought some pizza and a big box to play in on Wednesday night. That was nice of him. By Thursday, Nate, Noah, Erika, Luke, Brad, and Kelly were all better, but we were still stuck at home "recovering" from it all and trying to get our house under control.... I can't even express how disgusting our house feels when we all get sick like that. I still felt like crap. I don't remember feeling this copped up and this sick in a long time. And this one lasted SO LONG! I had my cake decorating class Thursday night and I must say it was difficult to keep my cookies down while decorating my cookies, but I did it! And I did enjoy my first class.
I think everyone is doing better finally, but it's still in the air. It's so hard to take care of a sick family!! I think we're all going to make it out alive. Serves me right for leaving blank days on our calendar I guess. We really didn't have ANYTHING planned that whole week. Kinda sad, but coincidence? I think not.
So anyway, that's where we've been. I'm looking forward to getting back into my schedule. I did some laundry yesterday and today and while I never thought I'd say this, it felt really good! If that's the only way I can get a break from laundry, then I guess I'll look at it as such :) I'd rather do laundry than feel like crap though. And all the other crazy chores I took a break from for that matter.... there is SO much to do now!! I will miss all the cuddling all day and all night with the kids. We watched so much TV. I kept feeling like we needed to turn it off and do something else, but everything else was so much work!! There is so much fighting and whining when people are sick! And I was completely immobile the entire time... I could hardly move. It was awful. So yeah, we caught up on all of our shows and watched every episode about a million times. It will be nice to get back to the park!!

I love posts about vomit and PMS, thanks for explaining it all so thoroughly!!! You are one tough lady, that is absolutely no fun at all. I wish I could have been closer to help but it sounds like you have some good family around. I guess times like that make us thankful for our health. Looks like your camping trip was so fun! we love going up in the mountains and just letting the kids explore, it is the best. Your kids are getting so big and grown up! Both of us are going to have half our kids gone at school all day, so crazy!! I miss you. Abby still talks about Kelly every once in a while, and actually wrote her a letter that I just found in a stack of papers. boo. they should be pen pals. Do you have Skype? they should also skype. the end.
I firmly believe that moms should be exempt from being sick..but then again, so should children. Huh. Those are hard times and I definitely consider them a trial. I'm glad you survived!
