I asked the kids to write about something that has happened in the past monthish (it's been a little over a month since we last wrote, so we just said since the Oregon Trip :))
CHARITY MAYNES 10/16/16
On September 17, Buddy broke his leg!! It was so scary/sad/emotional for me because he's my baby! It happened during the night because I forgot to let him inside for the night. He got out and something happened. Around 7:00 am, Noah came into my room and woke me up. He told me Buddy was hurt. At first, I wasn't too worried but as I got out of bed, I started to get more worried and more paranoid. I got downstairs and saw my poor baby on the living room floor. He started to wag his tail but couldn't get up. I got closer to his arm and it was very swollen closer to his toes. On the back of that arm, there was a big hole/cut. I realized it was pretty serious (he was bleeding). I started to cry and called for my dad. He came down and looked at it and he knew something was wrong. We took him into the vet. Throughout this whole process I was either crying or on the verge of tears. Buddy got an x-ray and his bone was COMPLETELY broken! It was so bad! The vet knew right away that they would need to splint it. Oh and the hole/cut was the bone that poked through! Buddy stayed there while we went to Kelly's lacrosse game. We picked him up and he had a cute blue splint on. He couldn't walk which was sad. Overall, the whole day was very emotional.

Our ward split. This was an incredibly emotional and difficult day for everyone. We left our special Shadowbrook ward and are now in the Ponds Park ward. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing because I'm going to miss my Shadowbrook family. It will be a good experience though. Now I don't have any really good friends in my ward (yet).
BRADLEY
Last week was my birthday!!! I turned 12, it feels so great. Me and dad got to go to the captial building it was really cool. We got to see the time capsule, gold room, just everywhere! Everything is really cool and old. After was my birthday. I got awesome things like a pocket knife, candy beef jerkey, $30, $40, fishing pole and baits and a spiritual tackle box. Then I got to go to Dartside for my birthday we had a great team and won almost every time. I got a special gun because it was my b-day. Then on the 14th me and mom went to Tepenyaki It was really cool there they threw knives made fire every where. Then we saw Pete's Dragon It was so cool. I love birthdays.
KELLY
Lacrosse: For the past like 5 or 6 weeks I've been able to play a fall season of lacrosse! It wa s alittle bit shorter than the spring season but it was so much fun! And it was nice for the rest of the family cuz the games weren't as cold. I had such an amazing team with so many great girls! I think we had 15 or so girls and most of them had never played but they were all super talented! And I had a really good coach! I really like doing the fall season because it gives me a lot of extra practice for the spring season. I really think I improved a LOT from the season before and my coach made sure to make me work really hard! We lost all our games except for our last one. Kind of sad but it's not about winning. I played defense every time and I think I did AMAZING :)
Women's Conference: a couple weeks ago I was able to go to the conference center for the women's conference I went with mom and Charity. We were sitting on terrace 6 and it was a really good spot :) Every year I look forwrad to going with them cuz its one of the few times we all get to spend time together. It was such an AMAZING experience and I could feel the spirit so strongly! President Eyring spoke and I love hearing him talk because He kind of reminds me of Grandpa Hatch :) We went to DQ after and that was a lot of fun! I cannot wait until next year because we get to take Erika!! I'm so looking forward to it :)
Hope Squad: so at the beginning of the school year, I was nominated to be in hope squad for my junior high. It was really surprising and i was super excited because it was something I've never done before. A lot of people have tol dme I'm great at giving advice and stuff but this is something I'd never thought I'd have the opportunity to do. It has been so great being able to be there for someone when they need to talk. By helping people get through problems they're having I've been able to do the same for myself. We have two amazing leaders who filmed a really great video of us to show to the school. It was so great and helped me realize that we all have things to hope for. Another thing I love about getting to be in Hope Squad is not only getting ot know new people and being there for them but making posters is so much fun!! :)
New Ward: so this week our ward was split. It came up so fast and no one, especially not me, had expected it. It was right after girls campe and it was the very first week that my best friend Cassidy Gray had gotten to come to young womens with me. It was one of the saddest things I've ever had to go through. Even though it might not seem like a gib deal but it really was. I'm still struggling with the thought of not being in the same ward as so many of my friends but the Ponds Park ward is a really great ward. And I"m sure that it will soon feel just like home. And it already is starting to because Jami is our young women's leader again :)
LUKE
A couple weeks ago we swiched wards. It made me kind of sad because all of my friends in our church. The first time that went to the new ward it was fun. We also started doing this thing called the Healthy kids running series. It's this thing were we race and run a mile on our last race someone came up to me and said "what's your name?" I ansered "Luke." Then he said "your the kid whos trying to get ahead of me!" And after that race I beat him by a landslide! Also bradley had his twelth birthday (yay). bradley decided to go to dartside and since we did the healthy kids running series we got to go half off. It was really fun.
ERIKA
I was in locros I practist lots of things I got better and better at the things. Let me tell you somethings that I do. I throw bolls and I kach the bolls it is Fun at the end we got our own won boll it is pink it is lite pink and we had amanams (m&ms).
NOAH
I reely liked the races because it was fun and I got a dartside nerf gun and a trofie and a meddle and a coloring book and a box yeh!!!!!! hehehaha wahoo
JACK- Jack wrote some scribblings on a piece of paper and then read it to me, this is what it said:
