Everyone was very anxious for this Thursday's race! We knew there were going to be races, raffles, and trophies :). Three things these kids live for! Everyone did really well again. Jack opted out of his race again, thanks to the pain in his leg. I sure wish we knew what was causing that- I really do hope it's just growing pains.
Erika got first place, again. She knew she had 29 points (added up from the previous three races) and that she didn't even need to come in first to win, but did anyway- by a LONG shot! Pretty awesome.
Noah did the same thing. He came with 30 points though and has won first every time. He did again and by a long shot.
And Bradley did great again, 10 seconds better than his first time, making his overall improvement over a minute! Pretty cool.
Luke came in first this time! That was pretty exciting!
This is a weird picture, you can't see Bradley coming in to the finish line (which they didn't hold up this last day :(, he's right behind the guy in the pink shirt, but I loved that you can see Charity, book in hand, running alongside Bradley, cheering him along! So sweet! Kelly did that too the two times she came with us. Unfortunately she had Lacrosse Practice during the last day, she was bummed.
So then we had the raffle from the nutrition challenges. Jack, Erika and Noah all won prizes during that. Then onto the awards! Erika got a trophy for first place and then got a waterbottle with prizes inside and certificate for Outstanding Consistency. Noah got the first place trophy and the same award for his age group. Luke got fastest runner in the 5th grade with a water bottle and Bradley got Most Improvement with a water bottle. Pretty awesome. I really am SO PROUD of my kids! They really surprised me with their abilities and talent! I hope Jami's not regretting telling us about it. Sure was fun to watch them win something they actually had to EARN! I am getting so sick of all the random luck awards that have nothing to do with effort or skill in any way shape or form! Anyway. I hope they want to do the races again! I think we have to wait til June though. 10-13-16
This is a cool picture :)

I want to get my kids into running a bit, what distances do they do for 8 and under? You can text me if that's easier. :)
