Easter Sunday

EASTER MORNING/GENERAL CONFERENCE/APRIL FOOLS
What a full day this was going to be!  Even before it happened, we knew it was going to be full :).  It was a great day though!  We had lots of fun.  Everyone woke up happy then got sad as they searched and searched for their Easter baskets.  Maybe some of them were not feeling well or something- in fact, now that I think about it, Bradley was not feeling well that morning and not really feeling up for the hunt- but they seemed like they were dragging, even looking for their baskets.

Eventually they were all found though and we moved on to Creamed Eggs on Toast!  TRADITION!  We were SO relieved when Nate announced that he didn't actually have to work Sunday morning as was the plan a few days before.  The biggest concern: no Creamed Eggs on Toast!  This is a huge concern just so you know.  Well, we all enjoyed and savored every bite of our delicious comfort food.  This is one of the most well consumed foods in our house.  We had plenty of hard-boiled eggs from dying them earlier in the week.  The kids love it.

After breakfast, we let the kids out to go find all 210 of the plastic eggs in the backyard!  They couldn't believe they were each going to get 26ish eggs!  It was a lot.  I'll admit it.  I didn't even use the old eggs in the Easter box.  We'll have to do a neighborhood one someday- we have enough eggs for it.  Anyway- this was fun to watch Molly enjoying it for "the first time" basically.  She stuck real close to Charity who let her have all the eggs they found and then had to wander around aimlessly trying to get the last ones that nobody else had found at the end.  Poor girl.  But I was so glad Molly had a fun buddy.  They all seemed to enjoy that.  Then I made them surrender their plastic eggs- keep the candy- but surrender the eggs.  I just couldn't bear the thought of finding them all over the house...

By then, it was almost time for conference.  We all found our spots and with Easter candy in hand, watched the Sunday morning session.  In between sessions we all went on a little walk around the neighborhood.  It was nice to get out of the house and get some fresh air- it was a beautiful day.  Then we said goodbye to Nate and got ready for the next session.  I didn't even bother with bribe treats- they still had so much candy from the egg hunt.  This session ended up blasting us with new revelation the entire time!  President Nelson just kept getting up and announcing new things!  No more Visiting Teaching and Home Teaching, seven new temples!!!  A LAYTON, UTAH TEMPLE!!!  A RUSSIA TEMPLE!!!  Holy moly!  I mean you really couldn't get more exciting than that!  There were loud gasps and even some cheering in the audience at the conference center :).  Pretty awesome.  He really blew us all away!  On top of that- the night before, he had announced that they are discontinuing separating High Priests from Elders Quorum, which I think is such a GREAT idea!!  I wish they could have done that a long time ago.  So anyway- very historic conference.

After conference it was time to really celebrate April Fools- tipped over cups of water, blue food coloring on toothbrushes, honey on the toilet seat, string around bedrooms, I can't even think of it all.  I still have yet to do my perfect idea that I came up with probably three years ago.  Circumstances have to be just so.... someday I'll do it and it will be awesome. It was a pretty crazy evening. I tried not to care, but yeah, pretty crazy.  Not as holy as I would have liked.  But what a big, fun day we had!!  4-1-18
