We didn't so good getting ready for church this morning! One minute it was 8:00 and I was saying I needed to be done with my studying and go make breakfast and the next minute it was 8:45!! We scrambled and sent the girls in one car so they could save us a seat and actually, we weren't even late, but it was definitely a mad dash! And we had to split up and not sit on one row which irritates me. The Shinns keep taking "our row" which I realize isn't really ours, but they could have taken the Noriega's instead, so it bums me out. We gotta fix this and get to church earlier! 6-9-19
FAMILY MEETING

Everyone had the best time at the family meeting. Everyone got to be part of the lesson- Brad was the tree of life and everyone else got to help put leaves and fruit on him and then watch them fall and put them back on :). Jack and Molly loved it. Jack got to read a really long scripture (so did all the other big kids), but really wowed a lot of his aunts with his good reading skills! Super proud moment! I got to talk with Meg and tried Popcorners for the first time. It was a nice time. Missed Nate. Looking forward to all the missionaries coming home and the "reunion" Ruth is slaving over! Sounds like a lot of fun! 6-9-19
BASKETBALL CAMP
Brad and Noah are the only ones doing camp this time, but they seemed to like it. Brad had to miss cross country for it, so I hope that it was worth it to him. One of the mornings, I totally spaced picking up Noah (Brad's went from 7-8:30, Noah's went from 8:30-10) so he ended up just walking home. He didn't even say anything to me until the afternoon when he asked where I had been that morning!! I felt awful! It was a day that Nate was home and those days always throw me off, but there's really no excuse. Bad mom. Someday my brain will come back right?? Anyway- basketball camp was fun. 6-10-19--6-13-19
PRODUCE KILLED ME
Produce really knocked me out this week. Set me back a few days I feel like. I was totally exhausted. I am clearly getting old. 6-11-19
SNOW CONES FOR GRANDMA HATCH'S BIRTHDAY
We met up with Grandma in Bountiful at the Hokulia so we could celebrate her birthday. We had a nice time, minus Charity's attitude, but we fixed that pretty quick. She told us all about her new weird diet. Should be interesting. It's nice to hear that she's happy though. 6-11-19
PLAYGROUP WAS LAME
We planned the park this time, picked Layton Park because we've loved it so much in the past, and nobody showed up until about noon when Lisa came with her kids. We were bummed. 6-12-19
KELLY GOT HER LICENSE
JOB HUNTS
So Charity and Kelly have been actively trying to find jobs since summer started. It's been funny to witness- they are so different about which jobs they will apply for and which ones they will call back and try to follow up. But this week they both struck gold! Charity first, got a call from Red Hanger- they wanted her to come train on Thursday, down in Salt Lake, and she was basically hired, on the spot, with a phone interview! Pretty cool. She starts on Wednesday. Then Kelly made a few follow-up calls and immediately heard back from Costa Vida! This was a little less exciting for her, for some reason, but she has slowly decided she is going to try it out. She went right in for an impromptu interview, they wanted her to work Sunday, she said no, and then hired her anyway. They've been super flexible with her, but I think it's just not the job she was really hoping for. She did get the slip-resistant shoes, the food handlers permit (I hope I never forget that funny video- talking about poo fingers- BAH!!), then she went back in to get her shirt and hat. She asked Nate for a blessing to help her feel right about things and be able to take this new leap into her future. Seemed to help a little. I'm really excited for her! Especially since there is going to be a new one in Kaysville here in a few weeks! She does have to miss the grand opening for Girls Camp though. And luckily they were both able to get their schedules to work around our girls week next week-- all our plans almost went out the window with the arrival of the jobs. Erika and I were totally bummed. But so far so good. I think we officially have two employed teenagers! Fun stuff! We'll see how this ride goes. 6-13-19
SACRAMENT
This week the Come Follow Me lesson was mostly about the Sacrament and it's got me thinking about how my participation in the Sacrament is. I feel like I definitely need to step it up. I want my focus right now to be on preparing ahead of time. So that I am ready to feel the spirit when it actually happens. This is my first Saturday, so I'll probably figure out something to do to really focus. Should be cool, I will keep you posted. 6-15-19
