1. On Thursday when I was coming home from playing with Julie and Lacie I was freaking out a little because I totally didn't give myself enough time to get home. I had a little trouble finding the freeway, and then I got stuck in traffic!!! Luckily my Dad bailed me out and picked up the girls, but I was still cramming to get home in time to take Kelly to her Dr. Appt. It was SO stressful. There did come a point though where I think I realized, I'll get there when I can get there and I'm not going to get there any sooner than I can, so not to worry. I'm grateful for that help. I know Heavenly Father calmed me down and helped to relax. We were only 5 minutes late for the appt. and it took the doctor like an hour to get in to us anyway, so no biggie. 6-3-10
2. Cute Kelly told me that Canon "likes her a little" :) Is that not the cutest thing ever!!!! (not to say it doesn't freak me out! but it is still cute)
3. On Friday, during all the chaos that went on that day, I had a really cool experience. I HAVE to blog about it, because it was awesome. Embarrassing, but awesome.... crazy I know. K, so I had taken the boys and Erika to the store to get a few things. We were needing a cake for Grandpa, a wedding gift for Misty, Toilet paper, diapers and a few other food items. It was a fairly quick trip to the store, and needed to be since we had so much to do. I was in a hurry so it was tricky to deal with the boys being really..... what's the word.... uncooperative! Then Erika started crying as well. So I was carrying Erika in one arm, trying to juggle the boys who kept hanging on the cart (almost IMPOSSIBLE to push with one arm!) and listening to Noah freak about everything.... it was tricky. I was totally trying to keep my cool though!! And I was doing really well, if I do say so myself. K, so we get up to the checkout, ring it all up and then go to pay for it, and what do you know, I forgot my card!!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!!! Yeah, I was bugged. I did have another card with me, but I was pretty sure there wasn't much on it.... I tried it anyway.... right then my sweet Relief Society President pops up out of nowhere! She overheard the cashier telling me that my card didn't go through. She immediately offers to "swipe her card" (as if that was not her paying for my stuff!) And I totally rejected the idea. She was surprised and then said, "come on, you've got all your kids, you don't want to have to come back.... maybe it was meant to be!" Ah man.... I totally started bawling. All the stress that was building up during the shopping just came pouring out. SOOOOOOO embarrassing!!!!! So of course I gave in. She knew I would pay her back, and was just SO sweet about it!!! It was like $75 worth of stuff and she just paid for it for me!!! I can't tell you how much she saved me.... it would have taken me forever to get back down there and do the shopping again. And we just had such a day ahead of us. Anyway. I don't know if this sounds as cool as it was.... but just know it was! I cry so easily these days, she was worried about me and asked if I was okay. It's funny because I really didn't feel all that stressed out until she asked. It's like that a lot I guess. She's such an awesome lady. This isn't the first time she's been in tune to the Spirit and been there for me in a pinch. I feel like the Lord sent her to me. She's my personal Saint. It's just be wonderful to know Vicki Parsons. I hope to be just like her someday. And that's my cool experience :) 6-4-10
4- I feel like the Lord has been protecting me so much lately. It's totally been that "being carried" feeling. And it's weird because I don't feel like things have been unbearable in any way. But really, it's been wonderful. Feels a little like a break from the norm. I feel like I must have been needing it, and I feel lucky to know that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me and knows what and when I need help. He's totally been there for me this last week. More than usual. I'm grateful.
5. On Sunday we had our big Visiting Teaching Sunday in Relief Society. Once a year this ward does a thing where the men all take over with the Women callings so that ALL the women in the ward can be there. It's really a big deal. I love it! Yeah, so this week was our big meeting and I was so happy to be having the month off of Sharing time, and so happy to be able to hear this really important uplifting lesson on Visiting Teaching and being motivated and such, and wouldn't ya know it, as soon as the opening song and spotlights were done, Erika got restless and needed to eat. I was ticked.... inside of course.... I took her to the Mother's lounge and angrily sat there, trying to hurry so that I could hear SOME of the meeting. She wasn't cooperating and wasn't falling asleep as I had planned.... she was just so hungry. Well, I got the idea that maybe I should just calm down and listen to the testimonies that were being born in the ward ahead of ours. I decided it was the Spirit that told me to listen because I heard some things that I swear were said just to me. One of the ladies, Roxanne, I actually knew from before the ward split.... she was one of our leaders at Girls Camp so many years ago. She is an amazing person. She said some things that just really hit home to me. I wanted to jot them down. She was talking about her life and how things never really seemed to go the way she planned. She had been so anxious to get married and start a family, but she was near 30 when she finally got married. Then it took another 10 or so (sorry, I dno't know the details) before she was able to have her one and only daughter, after MUCH trial. She mentioned that she was always praying for the wrong things. This stood out to me. I know I've done a lot of that lately. Trying to get the Lord to see things my way. Trying to get him to feel as strongly as I do. When really, I don't know what is best. I don't know where he is going with things usually, but where he goes is usually the best place and time. It made me want to be better at praying for his will. And praying to understand and know his will rather than asking him to make things my way. I know this seems simple, but it was something I needed to be reminded of. I also felt so strongly the fact that I am SO blessed. To have found Nate, at such a young age, and to have been able to make this sweet family with him. I really do need to keep in mind what a huge blessing my little ones are. And I need to be so much more grateful for them. They are amazing little miracles that I wasn't sure I would be able to have, and so many can't. I need to stop taking them for granted or being angry with them for needing to eat when I would rather be in a class. Yeah, how silly does that sound now. Anyway. I do love my little girl. I love that I have 3 of them and 3 little boys to go with them. My life would feel so meaningless without these blessings. I don't know what I would do. I am truly grateful for the life that I have and that the Lord has not given me an F yet. I hope I can improve, and do the things that the Lord has planned for me to do. That I will be able to make the most of my situation and accomplish what he has in mind. I'm going to be stronger because of this. And I still made it back in time for my favorite song at the end :) and the cute little handout. Life is good. 6-6-10
