SELF-SUFFICIENCY
Charity gave our Beehive lesson on Sunday. Kind of a bummer, but once again, nobody else was there, just Kelly, Michelle and I. She did great though! We had a really great discussion about being self-sufficient. I love that topic. 11-29-15
FHE
Since I'm the scribe:
Noah gave the lesson this week. He had us read a chapter in Mosiah and explained to us how the chapter headings work! Pretty cool to learn that the chapter heading tells you all about what is in that chapter! So if you ever get distracted during scripture time and need to remember/know what we are reading about, you can look there! Smart boy. I love the way his little mind works. I am glad he wanted to do his own lesson without help and that he even bore his cute little testimony at the end. I just love my kids! They're the greatest! We had planned on putting up Christmas that night, but it was the same night as the light parade, so we went to that instead. There wasn't time to do both. Plus our home teachers had come before dinner AND Nate had had to leave to give a blessing in the ward. It was a very full night, I'm surprised we were even able to squeeze in our tiny lesson. But we did!! The treat was hot chocolate! It was a nice evening! Putting up Christmas will wait til tomorrow! 11-30-15
RS DINNER
Tonight was the RS dinner. I LOVE this activity! I'm so glad they do it! I was with a lot of people I don't even know tonight! It's like it's supposed to be that way or something. I enjoyed getting to know some new people and being able to spend time with the people I already know and love. Hopefully I can get the "You're a Maynes, Mayneses don't wear coats or shoes or pants..." comment out of my head soon. It wasn't my favorite. 12-1-15
MOLLY IS THREE MONTHS!!
I can't believe my baby girl is three months already! She is growing way too fast for last time mom. I love her so much!! I was just saying that to her tonight while I was staring at her cute, little, sleeping face. She is such a precious little jewel in my life. I love her personality so much. She's mostly carefree. She just sits back and relaxes whenever she can. I love that she loves to have people around her and wants to be cuddled and held most of the time. She does, however, enjoy a good stretch now and then, and laying down on the couch next to me. She smiles so big and gets so full of light when she is the recipient of a big smile! It's so fun! She's so quick to show emotion. She nurses most of the time and loves to cuddle with her mommy. She is not the best sleeper yet, but we do get a full night's sleep every once in awhile. No complaints. She's just a doll. I love her so much. I feel so blessed to have her in my life. 12-1-15
VENTING
Why do people ask me "how do you do it?" and then proceed to tell me what I need to do to change things. When I tell people our elaborate tradition of putting up the tree and they tell me that I should just do it all by myself and not make it such a big ordeal, I want to say- NO!! That's what makes our family the family that it is! Those little, yet elaborate traditions!! I know it's harder. I know it's messier. But I love it! They love it!! It's one of our things!! We're not changing it. Or any of the other weird stuff we do. 12-1-15
GAG GIFT EXCHANGE
We had our gag gift exchange for YW this week. It was so fun! This is one of my favorite activities that we do. It gets a little inappropriate (not for girls, but when Bro. Jacox has to leave in the middle, you know it's not for mixed company), but so much fun!! 12-2-15
MIRACLES
So Thursday morning I was making breakfast and lunches and I could hear Molly wake up. I sent Noah up to get her and bring her down. Fortunately, and we have decided that he was prompted to do so, Bradley offered to get her instead. He is always so anxious to help with Molly, it's cute. Well, he came down the stairs with her and slipped on a toy car and totally biffed it!! He landed right on his tail bone and slid down a few steps. I heard the tumble and came around the corner to see him sitting there in tears, but with Molly perfectly safe in his arms!! I was sure he would have dropped her trying to catch himself, but nope- my 11 year old son totally took the fall and protected his baby sister. I think it was totally instinct because he didn't have much to say about it, it just happened. But I kept telling him what a miracle it was. He was pretty proud of himself too, but most of all, we just had to thank our Heavenly Father for what a blessing it was. For him to be the one to get her, if it had been Noah, I'm not sure it would have ended as well, and for him to be able to hang on to her. Such a cool little miracle. We are blessed. 12-3-15
LAST TWO
I put up an ad Saturday evening (I had been trying to wait another day or two, so that Misty could get weaned properly and only sell one at a time, but after stepping in a pile of kitten doo doo- I just couldn't take it anymore), and by 9:00 that night, they were gone. The last two kittens were out of hair. It's still a little sad for some reason, but the relief in Kelly's face really told me that we were done! Unfortunately I didn't give Misty the time she needed. She's totally engorged now. I feel awful. I'm sure she feels awful too. I wish I had the patience that people think I have. I'm so impatient. And such a control freak. Gotta work on that. 12-5-15
