SPIRITUAL GIFTS
Bliss gave our combined lesson on Spiritual Gifts today. It was great! I love thinking about those. I loved te reminder of Patriarchal Blessings too. I feel like it's good for the girls to have that in the back of their mind so that when it is time to get theirs, they will be prompted. Charity's been thinking about it a lot lately. I hope she prays about it and decides at the right time, but I am VERY anxious for that step- I think it will be so cool to witness our kids' Patriarchal Blessings. I really can't wait. I loved thinking about discernment as well. I struggle with that so much, but I know it is something I've been blessed with, so I would really like to pray to develop that more fully. Make it more useful in my life. 12-6-15
BASKETBALL TRYOUTS
Charity is one of the coolest girls I know. She tries out and strives for so many things. More things than I would have dreamed of at her age! She really just amazes me. She worked so hard for this basketball tryout, with several LONG after school sessions of conditioning and Intramurals, I am really just so proud of her. She did her best at her early morning tryout on Monday, prayed hard too :), but didn't make it. The thing I love about Charity is that even though she didn't make it, and she was totally sad and needed to cry a little, she knows, because of her strong faith, that if she was meant to be on the basketball team that Heavenly Father would have helped her to get on the team. So she is confident in the fact that it wasn't meant to be. She knows there will be other chances and many other things that she will get to participate in. But I hope she knows how proud I am of her!!! She so totally rocks.
Kelly too. I was so happy for her and how much fun she was having with the conditioning, but with her ankle hurting the way it was, I told her not to tryout. She would have done great as well!

PIZZA AT THE CALDWELL'S
We were invited to the Caldwell's house for dinner and Family Night. They had pizza dough and let the kids stretch it out and top it for dinner. That was some of the best pizza I've had in a while. The crust was delicious. I really can't believe her dad's pizza place went out of business with crust like that. Then we sat and talked and then headed downstairs for some Studio C :). I love having friends. 12-7-15
TUESDAY IS USUALLY SO CALM
This is kind of funny. I put this title in this post on Tuesday night, not wanting to write about it all in the moment, and then breaking my tooth, I figured since it was SUCH a HECTIC day, I would remember all that had gone on and be able to blog about it later. Well, this is the funny thing (and it happens probably more often than not), I can't even remember why it was so hectic :). Can't really remember a thing about it. I know it was Charity's choir concert because it is written in my schedule on my phone, and the fact that a bunch of stuff that wasn't written in my phone is probably the culprit, but I can't remember anything else! Crazy stuff. Such is my life. Busy, busy, busy, then it's over and forgotten. Very little of it even matters the next day :). Which is probably a good thing. So anyway, our Tuesdays are usually really laid back, but this week it was not :). The end. 12-8-15
BROKEN
So Tuesday night I broke my tooth eating some of the peanut brittle Nate got from the Stedmans when he finished the stone job. I can't believe how crappy my teeth are. Well, I guess with giving birth and nursing 8 kids, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. But how annoying! I had just said good night to Nate via text while he was working the mid, and CRACK!!! So frustrating. I am so grateful for Deena Gray though, and her position in the Dentist office- they totally squeezed me in and got me all fixed up (temporarily of course) with a filling to last a couple weeks. I feel so much better!! I was seriously freaking out about it so this was huge. 12-9-15
PIE FACE GAME
I know I can't buy the pie face game now since they've jacked up the prices for Christmas, but I did think of a cool way to play it with dice :). We played it at the Beehive Christmas Party this week- lots of fun!! I'm going to have to remember this for future parties. Although, we do need to think of a better way to contain the mess. It's very messy. 12-9-15
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE
We opted to only go to a couple of Kelly's teachers this time, since we know all the others are completely content with our daughters :). And can I just say that I do not love Ms. McCarey? She is so very annoying. I can't believe people like her can remain in a teaching position. She is on my list. 12-10-15
DINNER WITH BECKY
I LOVED that Becky wanted to go to dinner together! What fun we had :). Costa Vida- one of my faves- laughing, complaining :), almost crying.... good times with my good cuz. It was a much needed break from the regular grind. And it's been a while since we hung out. Cold weather does that. So good times. 12-11-15
BULLY PROBLEM
This week when Erika and I were putting up the nativity sets on the mantel we got to talking. It was such an eye opening experience to hear what Erika has been doing at school lately. She (and sometimes with Kate) has been taking care of the bully problem :). Apparently Mia started a girl club and wasn't letting the boys in the club (for obvious reasons). Well, I guess while they were meeting they would push the boys away and hit them and shove them, so Erika decided that she needed to "have a talk with Mia". She told her that she can't have a club that excludes the boys and that they should be nice to everyone. Then she talked about another boy who is mean to everyone at recess. They have been trying to help him be nice to kids too. She mentioned that she thinks the reason that kid has so many friends is because people don't want him to be mean to them. :). She's so sweet! I love that she is brave enough to stand up for what is right. There were a lot of little stories that just made me so proud to be her mom and happy that I get to have such a strong little warrior in my life. Her name means "Ever. Or Eternal Ruler" and during that afternoon- she really was Erika :). Just a cool little experience.
