I had an awesome Mother's Day. Nate always spoils me pretty good. The kids too, they're so sweet to me on Mother's Day (more than usual). I woke up to Lukey telling me that "Daddy's bwekfast for you." (so much for the surprise :)) And then a few minutes later cute little Luke brought me a piece of some yummy bacon (he usually brings me a handful of cereal or a cracker or two in the mornings). He was just funny because Nate was trying to let me sleep in. HA! So then Nate came in with Luke and Noah and a CUTE little metal family stand that you can screw all the little stick people into it to represent your family- it's way cute, I'll have to get a picture. But he brought in his little person and one for Noah and Luke and then they, all three, had different flowers for me too. Then in came Brad with a flower and his little person, then Kelly and Charity. Charity was carrying my yummy breakfast too. It was SO SWEET!! Apparently Nate had told the kids to pick out the prettiest flower at the flower shop. He was lucky they picked the cheaper ones (LOL), but it was SO CUTE to me that they got to pick them out. They are still telling me which one they gave me and why they liked it and so on. It's really cute. Nate gave me white and yellow which are the same ones he sent me after our first date :) very sentimental! So then they sent me on a cute little treasure hunt to give me another present..... a day at the Garden Spa! I'm so excited for that!!! Then at church the kids sang a really sweet song (not one of the usual ones) and I of course BAWLED. Brad had told his Daddy that he was going to make me cry.... couldn't let him down. He actually had me laughing pretty hard at the beginning just because he had on such a cute smile. The girls were funny because I guess they were supposed to keep the song a secret, and I wasn't supposed to know it was a new one. They sure did a good job. It was a special day for me!
It was a really nice day. I don't know why, but I just LOVE Mother's Day. I love thinking about being a mother and motivating myself to be a better one. I love thinking of all the blessings I've received as a mom and all the special moments. It's just a fun day for a Mom! I remember back when I was in High School and I had been told by my doctor that I would have a difficult time getting pregnant, and I remember for several Mother's Days, that was really weighing on my mind. I worried that I would never get to be one. But Heavenly Father had a different plan and I am just SO grateful for that blessing!!! My little miracles that make me a mom. Then it's cool to think about all the Moms that have made a difference in my life. My mom of course, and Nate's mom. It's just nice to be able to recognize the people who get very little recognition. So anyway, sorry to get all mushy, but I do love this day.
