- I know I've mentioned how similar Erika and Luke are, but today was proof that they really are just one in the same. Today for a little breather we went down to the Fire Truck park with the little three after taking Brad to school. Erika and Luke had a total blast together. She would crawl up the steps (if anyone tried touching her she would scream, she wanted to do it on her own) then Luke would grab her and put her at the top of the slide. She would scream as he was grabbing her, but as soon as she remembered what he was doing she was okay with it. It was adorable. They were both giggling and squealing the whole time. I couldn't help but remember Luke doing the EXACT same thing when he was about the same age as Erika. I can picture him climbing up the steps at the park by Cheney Lake. It was really fun for me. They both cried when it was time to go and they both seem all new and refreshed after the break now that we are home. It's funny how much they are alike. I went into the toy room to check on Erika and she and Luke were both just completely content playing with their own things, feeling like they were in a new place again (which is what they both thrive on). I must be like them also because I feel the same way after a short little break at the park. I should mention that Noah and Luke were being pretty cute at the park together too (not just LUke and Erika :) ) They were racing each other down and then up the slides. And Noah took Mom and Erika on a ride (buckled in of course!) on his Fire Truck. When it was time to go he had to go back and roll up the windows. It was crucial that he get those windows rolled up so I consented :) I love the park.
- Erika started taking REAL STEPS!!!! I can't say she's walking because she won't let us do it very much anymore. But she HAS walked :) She is such a cutie when she knows that she's doing something cool. Very proud! I love it! 10-17-10
- Maybe I've said this before but I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing Luke say, "Are you just teasing, Dad? (or Mom, or whoever is making the joke)" It's adorable. It's almost like one word now.
- I do however look forward to the day when Noah stops saying, "You not in chawge (charge) uh me, I in chawge uh mysewf!" He's very set on not doing anything I say and topping it off with this cute little number. He will however listen to Daddy quite well, seems to be a guy thing right now. Hopefully he outgrows it. But in the meantime, I will try to focus more on the cute times (as few as they may be), like today when he says, "Mom, I wike you. You my Mom." Makes my heart skip a beat. 10-20-10
- Noah just said the prayer over lunch ALL BY HIMSELF!!!! It was adorable and totally made my day. The other day he had wanted to "help Dehwy" (help Kelly) and had done well till the middle where he repeated what she said after she had repeated him, and then some how they changed jobs, and Kelly finished with him repeating her. It was cute too, but this was just really exciting for us :) He looked very proud! 10-20-10
- The other day I signed up for a WHOLE BUNCH of FREE samples on some of these websites I've been obsessing over. I really have no idea how long they will take to get here, or if they even will, but I'm excited regardless. I'm going to try to start doing the couponing thing.... gotta start really cracking down on the budget and tightening things up here if we're really going to buy a house someday. I'm looking forward to getting my free stuff though. I'll let ya know if it really happens.
- Luke was feeling kinda down tonight, laying in his bed, grumpy face, and avoiding putting his jammies on. Erika crawled over to his bed, pulled herself up to him, and started playing with his face :) Luke couldn't contain himself, he just busted up laughing. I love it when my kids take care of each other. Even when they're little, they know just what each other needs. It's fun being a mom.
