Some Unexpected Tours

Last week we went to Temple Square and we were just going to walk around real quick like we always do, trying not to disturb the peace with our little circus, but for some reason we decided to accept the tour that was offered to us when we walked through the front gates. Boy were we glad we did. What an amazing experience it turned out to be! We had two sister missionaries who were both from different countries (sorry, it's slipped my mind now), but they still had their accents pretty heavily, and I think it was difficult for the kids to hear most of what they said, but our kids were just glued!!! They listened and participated and showed off their question answering skills. It was SO NEAT!!! When they bore their testimonies I almost cried the Spirit was so strong! Then at the end we of course got to fill out the referral and comment cards, and Charity and Kelly both were excited to do that as well. It was just really neat. I can't explain it very well. My Grandpa used to do tours on Temple Square and I even had him take me and my friends for one of my birthday parties when I was younger, and I loved the tour back then, but for some reason we've just always kind of avoided them. Probably because of our kids. But we've been depriving them!!! Anyway. It was neat. I had an awesome time.


Some of my favorite pictures are like this one, where only half of us are in for the picture. Luke has got to be our most stubborn kid. I think he got the maximum stubbornness possible from both me AND Nate. Poor little guy. Hopefully we can just steer that in the right direction.

After the Temple Square tour, we decided to head on over to the Conference Center and embarked on another tour (mainly because that's the only way to get to the top) but that too, was incredible!! We had the neatest tour guide....he totally treated us like we were his own Grandkids. I just loved how patient everyone was with our kids and all the smiles and waves we got from everyone around. It was very pleasant. And I do love all the symbolism and beauty of the Conference Center. It really is incredible. You can totally tell that that building was inspiration. President Hinckley was one amazing Prophet to pull that one off.
