IT'S GREAT TO BE EIGHT!
This was such a fun time with Lukey!! We're so proud of him and that he's making the choice to be baptized! We got to learn a little more about it, see the font, and hear more about scouts and stuff. I think Luke felt special and is getting more and more excited about it all. He is the oldest in his class so he is first. His baptism is going to be on March 1st!! We're so excited! Thanks to Heidi and John for hanging out with the kids so that Nate and I could go with Luke alone. It was a nice evening. 2-2-14
NEW BEGINNINGS
Charity, Nate and I went to New Beginnings on Wednesday! This was so exciting! I had actually really been looking forward to it and the fact that Charity will get to benefit from the beautiful organization of the Young Women. It was a lot of fun to think about things from her perspective and get anxious and excited for the things ahead. I am so glad she will have such good examples for leaders and fellow Young Women. She is going to love it! I got to say a few words about Charity. Hopefully I didn't say anything too weird, I get so nervous and all. I sure love Charity and who she has become. I'm so proud of her. I know she is going to do big things and that if she keeps doing what she's doing, she will be very happy. She's counting down the days- I've never seen anyone as excited to go to Young Women's and be able to attend the temple as she is! As hard as it is to watch her grow up and know that eventually she will not be my little girl anymore, Young Women's here we come! 2-5-14
RECOVERY
So this whole recovering from my Appendectomy is sure not how I'd expected. I guess I pictured it being a piece of cake compared with the other surgeries I've had. Considering the fact that I wasn't handed a helpless (adorable, mind you) infant, or enlarged breasts, I figured it'd be smooth sailing. Well. I was wrong. It's not too terrible, but I sure have hit a brick wall. I was blessed with a great ward, they've all insisted that this recovery is going to be hard, they were right, and had meals brought in for the two days this week. One when Nate was gone in the evening and the other was the night of New Beginnings. It was such a blessing!!! Those were two of the hardest days. Then Friday, after Playgroup, Emily handed me two frozen pizzas to have for dinner as well. That was huge too, since Friday was the day I decided to abandon the pain meds. It's been really hard! I have to admit it. I don't feel like myself at all. And I feel like I'm back into a mild depression. I'm trying to stay up. I had joined this "Change Challenge" group with a friend on Facebook before the appendicitis, and almost didn't do it when the first of the six weeks was the week I was recovering, but I think it's actually been a huge blessing. It's kept me trying. I'm supposed to be working out 30 minutes a day, but that hasn't happened, not yet, but I've been watching what I eat and drinking lots (a whole Gallon one day!), so it feels like a really good thing. I've been really constipated and gassy, that's been hard. A lot of pain in my abdomen, and the annoying incision that is right where my pants button up, really annoys me and hurts. But I think I'll make it out alive. I wish I could have just come out of it right away. It's bugging me so much that I've had to "recover" at all. Stupid me. 2-7-14
