"You are not here to live a mediocre to average life; you are here to live an amazing life, a miraculous life. If it weren't for your challenges, there would be no miracles. Things to Remember week of 2-16-14

CHRIS AND STEPHANIE
Chris and Stephanie come up to Fruit Heights on the 3rd Sunday of the month for their Family Home Evening with her grandparents, so we all decided it would be great if they stopped by here for dinner on those Sundays so that we could hang out a little.  It's definitely been a while since we did anything with them.  It was a nice relaxing dinner and lots of chit chat.  Erika loved having Sophie over.  2-16-14

PRESIDENT'S DAY OFF
We found out the exciting way (meaning SURPRISE, you're going to save $67!!) that Sky Trampoline Arena has a 50% off deal for Government employees on Federal holidays!  WOW!  We didn't even know about it- they just offered it!  SO instead of paying $80 for all of us to jump, it was only $13!!  We also had some coupons the kids got from their parent teacher conferences.  It was really awesome.  We had actually decided against Nate and I jumping and then when they said the total was $3.00, we couldn't resist :).  Anyway!!  It was a LOT of fun!  This was actually meant to be Luke's birthday celebrating activity, but we couldn't because of my dumb surgery, so I'm glad we finally went.  The kids loved it!  They said they could have done another hour, but I personally don't think they would have made it, they were pretty tired even after just the one!  There was so much to do there.  They have trampolines under the basketball hoops- Bradley and Noah loved those.  There were trampolines in front of the foam block pit, we all loved that one!  It was really hard to climb out though so I only went once :).  Then there was the dodge ball-  Charity, Luke and Bradley all got into that.  Kelly, Jack and Nate spent most of their time on the regular trampolines.  Erika loved the big bubble.  It was just a lot of fun.  I think we'll go there next federal holiday :).
We went to Bajio afterwards, that was my favorite part :)... mmmmm shrimp tacos.....
Then we came home and crashed.  Everyone was grumpy.  That's what happens when we get worn out.  We did have a fun (shortened since we had some poor sports) game of Lightning for FHE.  We've really been enjoying the present I got Nate for Valentine's day.  The basketball hoop has been a lot of fun for everyone.  Then it was back to the grind... school night... fun stuff though.  2-17-14

ANNIVERSARY
This was also the anniversary of our engagement!  Which we will all ALWAYS know now, since Nate had our dates framed!!  That was the gift he gave me for Valentine's!  It's so cute!  I've always wanted one of them, and funny enough, I almost did that with a canvas when things weren't working out the way I wanted.  It's really cool to have some of our special days out in the open like that.  It will be fun to see them on the wall everyday.  Once I hang it up :).
13 years ago Nate proposed.  It was a special day.  We always talk about the first part of the day when I was grumpy and wishing he was going to propose, but really, the memorable part of that day was after he proposed, after I said yes, as we were driving around to all the people we could think of, to tell them the news!  It was so fun to know that he was the man that I was going to spend the rest of eternity with.  That was something I had been dying to know for so long!  And it made me so happy!  I remember the next day was Stake Conference, and I remember just feeling like I was on a cloud.  I couldn't have been happier.  I even drew a picture of he and I up in the clouds with a bunch of little kids around us :).  "Cloud 9".  It was such a special time.  We were so good to each other and had so much fun spoiling each other and getting ready for marriage.  I'm so glad that we took the time to prepare for not just the wedding (which actually could have used a little more preparation) but also the marriage.  That was the important part to us.  I will never forget that feeling, holding his hand in the car, driving around just like we always had, but feeling so different!  KNOWING that we were each other's.  Ahhhh.  Just makes me happy thinking about it :).  I love loving Nate.  2-17-14

BLUE AND GOLD BANQUET
We had our first Blue and Gold Banquet in this ward!  First time with Luke too!  It was a lot of fun.  They did a cowboy theme (coincidentally the same theme as our last ward's :) ) so the boys dressed up like cubscout cowboys.  They were insistent that they wear their scout shirts.  All the other boys had on plaid flannel :).  But I think that's why they were both chosen to help with the flag ceremony.  Bradley lead it and Luke got to carry the flag!  So cool.  Gave me chills- yes, I am a cheesy mom :).  They had all kinds of activities and singing and then a yummy (though not as yummy as Nate's, said all of us :) ) pulled pork dinner.  I loved that the adults got to sit around and chit chat a little while the boys went around and did games and stuff.  The stick pull was a favorite :).  Fun stuff.  I think I got a picture on my phone- post that later.  2-20-14

WAKE ME UP?
Cute Erika said to me tonight, "Can you wake me up?"  And I said, "Why do you want me to wake you up?" (I always try to let her sleep in as long as possible...  I guess I assume everyone likes to sleep in because I do)  She answered, in her sweet voice, "It's just more fun to wake up when someone is there and you don't have to be all by yourself."  So cute!!!  Then she added a little later, "Then I could watch you make breakfast!  AND WE COULD CUDDLE!!!"  Melt my heart.  She brought up how she used to wake up, come down the stairs, and then she and I would cuddle.  Then said, "Remember those days?"  How adorable.  Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was in the summer :).  Or maybe she used to sleep in a little longer because I don't remember those days!  But I told her I would be sure to start waking her up before I get going on the morning so that she and I can cuddle  :).  Love that girl.
